State of Vikram's wife

What can be the state of Vikram's wife about whom no one utters a word in his family.

I would like her state to be dead

If mentally ill, why is she being locked up by Vikram, not put in a mental institution where the doctors could care for her? Lots of mystery there.

It's India, he felt sorry for her and didn'tl like to see her in one so he put her in the "haunted looking mansion" and hopefully has people take care of her and dhauma visiting to make sure all is going well and reporting back to him periodically. He says "trust me" just int he same way Mr. Rochester would say to Jane Eyre.

Pretty busy. I just hope they do some quality writing when they show someone with a mental health problem. Over-the-top acting and a diagnosis that has no medical basis would be too much to digest and will really show that the writer really is shoddy.

Smarter move is to give her a traumatic brain injury that has left her completely damaged; she does not function well, poor memory etc. The reason why TVS has not divorced her is he wants to maintain legal guardianship over her treatment rather than divorce her and have her family or others take care of her. He wants to make sure gets the best treatment. He had hoped in the past that she would have got better, but it didn't work.
