Jai and Tanhai

The last speech by Jai in 28th episode got me thinking that either Ram or the creatives have given the character of Jai Walia a lot of thought. Loneliness and yet a strong desire to love defines him. He doesn't give his heart easily. Life has taught him that people cheat him, so he is wary. He suffers from guilt about the accidental death and, doesn't want to commit himself coz of Nishikan't curse. Even Roshni recognises that essentially Jai is very lonely and confused. With Bani too, when he hated her, there was a conversation about 'loneliness', just after masi's first phonecall. He referrred to Bani's claim of being lonely and said i know how hard that is.
Pia with her cheekiness had surprised him out of his wall of defensiveness, and when he was cheated he felt his worst fears realised. Ram's acting and the script brought out very well,his slow reluctant return to the world of felings, coz of Bani's selflessness. Now that he loves so completely , to the death, he dreads returning to the desert of his non feeling days. That was the theme with the ending on Friday. So glad the serial is not losing sight of his personality.
