Today was a light, humourous episode with a lot of little details that I really liked seeing so I am just going to talk about those.
It was interesting to hear Shobha's 3 signs of love because so far, Aarti has defied at least two of them, that is wanting to spend time with Yash and being possessive of him. It is one thing that she helped him with the shraadh and on top of that she has no problems with him spending all day with Smriti or Vidhi giving him lunch because she is busy with the kids. If she wanted to spend some time with him, taking him lunch, serving etc would have been the perfect excuse but she turned it down without a concern and passed it on to Vidhi.
It would be a sign of possessiveness too, if she was to be the only one who could give him lunch but that is simply not the case. She cared for him when he was ill the way she would care for the children. She is committed to this relationship, respects Yash and wants to make amends for the mistake she made at the party; that's all. There seems to be no part of her that is dying to spend time with him. I am so glad the CVs are showing it like this. And the two have already had ego battles over Ansh's school, as well as PayPal's parvarish and I am sure we can expect more from the office work they will be doing together. Aarti's approach will be totally different from Yash's and neither of them are going to be happy surrendering their ideas to the other.
I hope they refute all of Shobha's conditions and are thereby left alone by the family to discover their love on their own. Though Vidhi and Prateek won't be able to sense it because AarYa are not following the rules, AarYa will go about falling in love in their own way. They will fight but I think they will both enjoy the challenge while the meddlers give up hope and retreat to strategise some more.
I also loved seeing the kind of loyalty that Yash inspires from his employee. Smriti point blank refused to desert Yash at such a crucial time, even when promised a man exactly like him. The respect she had for Yash was incredible which shows what a meticulous professional he is. You always appreciate bosses who work you like crazy but work much harder themselves and really end up teaching you as you work with them. Prateek could not entice Smriti with anything that would force her to abandon Yash, without the assurance that everything would be taken care of and it was for Yash's benefit. Yash is that good!
I also liked that they clarified that Aarti was qualified, past drawing the perfect rainbow anyway, to do this job. It takes just one dialogue but it makes such a huge difference to our acceptance of the premise. It also gives us one extra dimension to Aarti's character. She was certainly a woman of varied interests! An arts graduate and captain of the hockey team. I just love that she doesn't fall into any stereotype like "tomboy" or "girly girl" or whatever. She is just her, and happens to be interested in these various things. I hope that Yash gets to see her in a new light in this office track, as not only a great mother and nurturer but also as the sassy, worldly woman that she can be when she has to. Vidhi was right. Yash was understimating Aarti and I hope he gets to know that!
Finally, I am glad they shed light on Palak and I was heartened by the little snippets that they did show. While Palak glared daggers at her sister for asking her to praise Aarti's drawing, it cannot be missed that she was also drawing, being part of the group activity. In addition, I liked that Aarti gave her her space and didn't try to ask her what she was drawing or what she thought of Payal or Ansh's drawings. As long as Palak doesn't come to her, it looks Aarti is just going to position herself as an available but not imposing presence of comfort.
Similarly, there was a change in the scene with the hair too. Before Palak used to let Aarti do her hair but be mean to her on any deeper level. Now we see that she is excluding Aarti even from these small acts because she cares. She is ignoring Aarti with a vengeance, rather than with true indifference. She is basically calling out for Aarti to prove herself, which Aarti will do over time, as situations present themselves. I am glad they are not rushing this, just like they are not rushing AarYa. It does take time and Palak is a stubborn and fiercely loyal kid. She is never going to show her growing attachment until she feels threatened it might be taken away.
I like the outcome of what Prateek and Vidhi are doing, but I am still not keen on the motives. Also, manipulating Gayatri never ends well...look at where it got poor Paridhi! I am not sure how PapaS is going to feel about this...
EDIT I just had a stroke of genius about this office track!
What if the popinjays keep looking closely for Aarti to show these three signs that Shobha outlined, and in the process they see Yash showing them instead! 😲 I have seen far more of these three signs from Yash than I have from Aarti, be it when they were on their second trip to Cafe Delight and her honour was at stake, when he missed her after the kidnapping or when he was bothered by her silent treatment after he changed Ansh's school. The possessiveness is there.
Spending time is a little more sketchy because we haven't ever seen them spend time together, but when they do, he seems pretty happy, like after the hosepipe scene with the towel, when he was telling her about his anniversary etc. If you really want an example, you could say that they spent time together when Ansh was in danger and Yash was angry when she wasn't there after the kidnapping because he wanted to see more of her.
And he APOLOGISED to her, even when she was essentially at fault and she wouldn't have held it against him if he didn't (though we would have)...so there goes the ego...
Errm...😳
