Ok...just finished watching Issa's upload of today's episode (Thank you so much Issa!)
So here is what I feel:
I read Naava's post about Archana's reaction. I mention this because this was very well-written and sensible: I would be lying if I didnt share that I found myself wondering if this was the case myself. Naava wrote that the Money/Power aspect of this whole thing (coming to the Precap) is because Archana thinks that Arjun has done this because he thinks he can. To her, she believes that since he is rich and powerful, he thinks he can control everything and make everything go the way he believes it should go.
Now to be fair- this does make sense to a certain extent. However, like Naava, I am also horrified that she would ask Purvi to choose between her and Arjun. That is ridiculous and uncalled for--not to mention highly insensitive. This is the Archana who is supposed to be gentle and sensitive to people's feelings...and who also has a love story of her own where she and her husband were each other's greatest love and support. That she of all people is behaving like this is ridiculous and unbelievable.
2 things that I saw for myself that did warm my heart a little. I am glad to see that Purvi is no longer the cold, stiff girl that she has been all this time. She looked totally stricken when Archana gave her that ultimatum. Before, she wouldnt even hesitated. Now, her shock and grief was very apparent on her face. Sulo immediately questioned Archana and comforted Purvi. I really have high hopes for her too--and that too based on her actions.
1) This whole thing was possible because of her in the first place. If left to her own devices, Purvi was going to call Arjun and clear up the whole matter with his confession to Manav and Ovi...and no doubt pull another "I dont love you lets sacrifice angle." Thanks to Sulo, and her gentle and firm advice, she was able to guide Purvi the right way and make her realize there is no crime in loving someone. Thanks to her the outcome was very different and we got what we wanted- which was their reunion.
2) In the precap it is very obvious that Purvi is horrified and crying at the words Archana is saying to Arjun. She is not standing there simply listening. Seeing Archana talk to Arjun like that is definitely causing her pain to the point of her crying- that too in earnest.
As a lot of people have been intimating...if it is so clear cut that Purvi is ready to drop Arjun like a bad habit at the slightest indication from her Aai...her emotions would not be like this. She would not be reacting like this. The scene with Archana did not convince me as much as the precap did. If her mind was already made up and she was sure that she would be ready to let go of Arjun, she would not be crying while Archana is insulting him. That is for sure.
Also, I dont really blame Purvi for wanting to please Archana. We know for a fact that every moment of every day she is feeling grateful that an orphan like her got another chance at life with Archana and Sulochana. It doesnt matter what Archana or Sulochana themselves think-what matters is that Purvi herself thinks that she is not equal. Being adopted, and knowing the fact, and watching her mother's real actual family has put her in a great dilemma because Purvi is unable to ever take anything for granted. Not because she is doing a senseless Mahaan like Archana. But because she sincerely believes that she owes Archana a debt for adopting her. She feels indebted. Thats entirely different.
Archana's sacrifices make no sense whatsoever. Sacrificing for Sachin, Manav, etc. is just emotional foolishness and stupidity. Other than for her own self righteousness, there is no need to sacrifice anything because there is nothing that Archana owes Sachin, Savita, or even Manav. Purvi's dilemma is very different and very real...she feels she owes Archana--there is a debt to be paid and a favor to be paid back----and thats the difference.
That is why we feel for Purvi and for Arjun. Knowing this, for Archana to put her "daughter" she supposedly loves so much in this dilemma---and force to choose between her mother she is grateful to and she feels she owes for everything----and the love of her life---and that too when the other girl in question is her mother's own daughter----it is not only cruel---it is simply heartless. So heartless it is on a scale with Savita herself.
Reacting badly to Arjun and not accepting him right away is, while not really fine, understandable. Forcing this kind of choice is ridiculous...emotional blackmail? What is all that about?? Why not just take the girl's life instead and be done with it?? Because like Ovi, its too late...she is in love too...and so things will never be the same again in her life either. In Ovi's case it sucks but nothing can be done- her love is one-sided so end of story. However, in Purvi's case...she is just as much in love and emotionally invested...but here is a chance to save her...let her be with her love since he loves her back instead of destroying her life too.

Lovely, Archana..very well summarized. It reflects all of our emotions accurately. Asking Arjun to prove himself is one thing but demanding Purvi to choose between them is just sheer cruelty. She would defi niitely not have done this with her "real" daughters!! Today, she surpassed Savitha herself with that one statement !!!

Adding a couple of my thoughts to this thread,
1.Arjun has to prove himself by making a living all by himself without his "dad's" money as maatha Archana decrees tomorrow even though I am sure he made atleast some of it with his own intelligence. Duh !!! his chief forte is running a business for which he will have no money. So, i think in his quest of investors, he will stumble upon Soham who will help him out and in time help a
Arvi get back together. It is end of june and time for his entry anyway. What do u think?

2. After Arjun proves himself to Her Highness and all sundry, I am sure Archana will claim that she did this for Purvi as she does not want her beti to be in a wrong rship and also that no one can ever raise a finger against her daughter that she lured Arjun and it is all PAVITRA RISHTA!!!!!

Just trying to make sense of this crappy track and be sane thru this madness !!!

I agree. That's what I was thinking too when I was watching the episode. Why not just stab a knife through her heart and end the matter? That's how Purvi will feel anyway if she has to choose between her mother and her love. I guess Archana forgot that once upon a time she was in the same predicament where she had to choose between her Mom and Manav. I understand that she was thinking as a mother to protect her girls from Big Bad Arjun( 😆) but she didn't give Purvi a chance to explain herself (yet again). She just assumed Purvi went to the office to meet Arjun when in fact she went there to resign. I was holding my breath, thinking Purvi was going to get another slap from Mother Archu, but thank goodness she was spared.

Coming to precap- I will not go into it. Archana has a huge fascination with status apparently. Arjun obviously worked hard to get where he is even if he was born rich. He's not a playboy and even Archana has seen what a diligent worker he is. But this is history repeating itself, only instead of a poor guy like Manav trying to prove his worth to Sulo, it's Arjun who has to prove his worth to Archana by going from being rich and successful to becoming poor and struggling. From what I can see, Arjun does a lot more work than Sachin, the shady lawyer does. I don't know what to make of this show any longer. Every time ARVI gets together, the next day they are torn apart. Let's wait for another 6 weeks guys before ARVI get back together because right now along with Savita, Ovi, and Punni, Archana is also a barrier between Arjun and Purvi.

Archana nice post as usual. There is nothing left to say you said it all
What I want to add is that today I lost some respect for Archana coz I thought that she was a little more sensible but I was wrong
The position in which she put Purvi today is plain ridiculous and she has proved that she loves her blood more than the one she adopted and supposedly trusted so much

I hope that for once Purvi thinks abt herself and her future and doesn't give up on Arjun only because Mahaanta Queen is saying so
I am in no mood for another ArVi separation track right now and if Archana continues with this bullshit and we don't get decent ArVi scenes , PR can go to hell for all I care.
ENOUGH is ENOUGH !!! I don't know why Archana is hellbent on making everyone like herself or her loser husband

Hi Jyothi I think so too...but I want to say something in response to your thoughts:
1) I do believe he will stumble upon Soham in this manner as well...somehow their professional lives will connect- allowing the same for their personal lives. In this way, Soham will become close to Arjun--and through Arjun will get to know Purvi as well. However, I really, really hope that there is one thing you are wrong about---and that is the statement I highlighted aboe: Soham will in time help ARVI get back together. No----he wont---because ARVI will not be apart in the first place so there is no need for him to be the catalyst to get them back together!!! Arjun has to prove his love to Purvi not because of Purvi----but to everyone else. She loves him and will continue to do so...regardless of Soham, Ovi, Archana, Manav, Savita, or anyone else.
2) Archana may try to claim this but it is a bunch of BS. As I said: seeing Ovi's hell should have made her realize that the same would happen to Purvi if she separates the too. When you love you love completely. To have that love taken from you is heartbreaking and the worst pain a person can ever experience in their life: even death is a blessing compared to this. Whether the person is taken from your life because they dont return your love, or taken from you by other circumstances or people, the point is they have been taken from you and they are not there with you. The end result is the same. And so the pain is the same. The only difference is like I said: Purvi has the consolation of knowing she is loved by Arjun. If Archana uses her brains she will realize that for one daughter it is too late: nothing on this God's green earth is going to give her love back: there is nothing to be done about that. For the other one it is not late at all: she can be saved and does not have to suffer the heartbreak that Ovi does because she is loved in return. As a mother you cant save one no matter what you do but you can save the other. However, this mother, instead of at least saving Purvi's happiness, is oolta trying to separate her from this great love...and in so, is indirectly destroying it herself. Thats the sickening part.
Ram Milayee Jodi. (Maybe we should rename the serial..since there is nothing Pavitra about these Rishtas anyway anymore). "Whomever God has put together, noone can put asunder" They will be together. In some cases it happens quickly--in some cases slowly---but: and here is the kicker: it will always happens.

Archana (Archverma i.e) what a beautiful article, so sensible and eye opening. You put forward Purvi's dilemma very clearly. She seems to be the loser in every way, just because she is an orphan. Now, I wish more than ever that a wealthy relation of Purvi's enter the scene and show all and sundry that Purvi is just not some 'ladki 'who anyone can push around or lord over.

Archana,
The reason I said "get back together" is I am not sure how Purvi will interact with Arjun after her mother's fatwa!! i am always a little worried about her reactions ..she has committed to Arjun with all her heart, but she may still stay away from him because of this too...

I do agree it is a pile of BS, but she may just turn the tables and claim that. She has been separated from Manav innumerable times and should know how heartbreaking it is to be not with the love of ur lifr. Yet, she still demands it of Purvi !! What audacity, cruelty and heartlessness. Is the bitterness more because Arjun refused her darling Ovi or is it a concern for Purvi, I seriously wonder !!!

Through it all , i think Sulochana will help these kiddos out..,
