Now I know what I am about to say may sound cruel but I have seen a lot of other writers do this. I am about to go through my pm list and see who actually reads my ff and who hits the like button and who comments. People who end up being silent readers from now on my pm list and who do not comment fom the next chapter on wards I will not pm you because as a lot of other writers will agree pm'ing a lot of people takes time. So I am sorry if what I have said is harsh but that is the way things have to be from now on. So if you do want me to pm you please start to hit the like button and comment. I will be keeping a eye on who does and who doesn't. Also anyone who wants me to pm them buddy me and do comment.

Chapter 39

Arnav and Khushi came out of their trance only when Akash came up behind Arnav and tapped him on the shoulder. Arnav turned to look at him and then saw people looking at them. Seeing where Arnav was looking Khushi followed his gaze and saw the people. She suddenly went a shade of pink and was avoiding anyone and everyone's gaze. Arnav looked back at her to see her blushing. He just smirked knowing full well he was the cause of this. He placed his hand in hers and intertwined their fingers. She looked at their hands then looked up at him.

Arnav: Come on lets go. Akash get Payal we are going back to the hotel.

Arnav led her back to the limo while Akash grabbed Payal and they headed towards the limo. As they were coming towards the limo Khushi realised she was drenched and pulled at Arnav's hand to get his attention. Arnav turned around to look at her.

Arnav: What?

Khushi : Mine and your clothes? We can't sit in the limo like this.

Arnav: Khushi stop fussing.

Khushi: But…….

Arnav: Look Khushi when we get back to the hotel we can change there.

Khushi: It's just that we have no towels here with us. I don't like sitting down with wet clothes.

Arnav had to think on the spot to get Khushi to leave. He thought of something, moved towards her and whispered in her ear.

Arnav: Well if you want you can gladly sit on my lap in the limo if you don't want to sit in the limo.

Khushi could not believe what she just heard. She backed up and let go of his hand. She looked up at him smirking at her. She saw the limo door open and quickly sat in avoiding Arnav's gaze on her. Payal and Akash came towards them and sat in. They saw Khushi looking out the other window avoiding everyone. Arnav got in and the limo headed back to the hotel still with him smirking. Akash noticed his cousin and wondered what was going on. He had never seen Arnav like this but he didn't want to pry.

Once back to the hotel Arnav told everyone to get changed they were going to one the restaurants downstairs and have dinner as it was their last night here before they go back tomorrow. Their shopping was bought up by the hotel staff.

Arnav got changed into the maroon jersey which Khushi had picked out for him earlier with black trousers.

Khushi got dressed into the green and yellow anarkali which Arnav chose for her.

Akash wore the light blue shirt and black trousers which were picked out by Payal while Payal wore the orange and yellow sari that Akash had picked out for her.

All four of them headed towards the restaurant. They all sat on one table and had their food.

Once dinner was over Arnav had had the limo brought round and they went out to the hanging gardens in Mumbai. They got out of the limo and headed out for a walk. While Akash and Payal headed of ahead Arnav held Khushi back so they could walk together further behind them. Arnav held onto Khushi's hand intertwining their fingers and she didn't seem to mind knowing full well there were hardly many people around and whoever was around mostly turned out to be other couples. They wondered around for an hour and watched the sunset. Both Payal and Akash were watching the sunset. Khushi who had her head on Arnav's shoulder was looking at the sunset while Arnav was looking at her. She then looked at him watching her and knew that this had been the best day she could ever remember.

Khushi: Thank you.

Arnav: Your welcome.

Neither of them needed to say anything more.

They headed back towards the limo and headed back to the hotel. Due to the day's activities they all fell asleep as soon as they got back.

Next day they got up had breakfast, packed and headed out of the hotel. Arnav paid the bill and joined the rest of them in the limo before they headed to the airport. They got through the security checks, got on to the private plane and went back to Delhi.

As soon as they landed Arnav had his driver pick them up.

Once they were back at Shantivan everyone greeted them. Khushi, Payal and Akash hugged everyone while Arnav hugged his sister.

Nani: I'm so glad you are all back. Before everyone says anything to them kids go get freshen up and then come down. We can talk then.

All four of them listened and headed towards their rooms. Once everyone had freshened up Arnav sat on his recliner, got his laptop out and checked his e-mails. Khushi took all the presents out and headed out. She met Payal and Akash along the way and they went to the sitting room where everyone was waiting. Payal and Khushi started handing out the presents. Anjali loved the jewellery she got, nani loved the sari's she received, mami was trying not to be over enthused about her jewellery but in her heart she was ecstatic, mama loved the suit he received while Akash on Payal's insistence gave Shyam his gift which was a watch. Arnav then joined them. He went and got the newspaper and sat down and started reading while nani and Anjali started enquiring both Payal and Khushi about their Mumbai trip. Khushi and Payal answered everything they were asked. Mami was too busy looking at her jewellery to take notice. Mama was also enjoying the conversation while Shyam was getting vexed but then everyone's ears perked up as soon as they started talking about going shopping, juhu beach and the hanging gardens.

Anjali: What? Chote relaxing? Chote when did you plan all this?

Arnav who had been listening while reading the newspaper didn't look up while answering.

Arnav: Di I had planned the whole thing here. Two days before we were leaving.

Everyone: What?

Arnav just smirked hearing everyone's reaction.

Anjali: You planned everything while you were here? Since when did you become the romantic?

Arnav: Di this had nothing to do with romance. As neither Khushi nor Payal had been to Mumbai I thought they should at least see some of the city before we came back so I had all the conferences organised within one day and we spent yesterday looking around the city. Don't make something out of it where there is nothing.

Anjali and nani gave each other a look indicating they didn't believe him. Mama had a smile on his face, mami just huffed, and Shyam just looked pissed while Akash and Payal looked at one another knowing Arnav was not being truthful. Khushi just looked at him surprised. He looked up from his paper saw Khushi looking at him and winked. He then went back to looking at his paper while Khushi could feel herself blushing. This scene did not go unnoticed by Shyam who was getting more and more angry. He knew he had to do something about this and soon.

The phone started to ring. Nani was close to it so she picked it up.

Nani: Hello.

Garima: Naniji hello this is Garima.

Nani: Garima bitiya. How are you? How's everyone at home?

Garima: I'm good and so is everyone else. How is everyone there?

Nani: Everyone is good. Would you like to speak to the girls?

Garima: Yes please.

Nani passes the phone to Payal.

Payal: Hello Amma.

Garima: Payal bitiya. How are you?

Payal: I'm good amma. How's bauji and buaji?

Garima: Their fine. Payal you do know what's in a few days?

Payal: Yes amma. I know but…

By this time Khushi is dying to speak to amma.

Payal: Amma speak to Khushi.

Khushi: Amma how are you? How's bauji and buaji? Is bauji taking his medicines?

Garima: Calm down Khushi bitiya. One question at time. I'm fine. Your bauji and buaji are fine and yes he is taking his medicine. Khushi bitiya actually I called because you know what's in three days.

Khushi who had a smile on her face up until now all of sudden became really pale. Payal saw her reaction and held onto her hand.

Khushi: Yes amma. I remember.

Khushi handed the phone back to Payal. She stood up and without looking at anyone she went up to her room. Nani and Anjali tried calling after while Payal was on the phone. Arnav quickly got up and followed her. Payal put the phone down after saying goodbye and started explaining what was going on.

Arnav got to his room to find Khushi sitting on the bed her head in her hands and he could hear her crying. He walked up to her and sat next to her. He put his arm around her and pulled her towards him. Feeling Arnav right next to her she put her head on his shoulder her hand on his chest and cried on his shoulder.

Arnav: Shhh! Khushi won't you even tell me what's going on?

Khushi was still crying her words were incoherent. All Arnav got was parents, pooja, accident. Arnav then put his fingers on her and made her face him.

Arnav: Khushi what's going on?

Khushi: Woh. It's my parents barsi in three days. Amma, bauji, jiji and I use to go to the temple every year to do a pooja for them and hand out food to the poor.

Arnav closed his eyes knowing full well the hurt she was going through. He opened his eyes and looked in to hers.

Arnav: What do you want to do this year?

Khushi: I want to do the same but I am not in GH no more.

Arnav: So? I'm not stopping and I don't think anyone else will. So it's decided. Ok?

Khushi looked at him and smiled at him. Arnav wiped her tears.

Arnav: Go freshen up and come back down. I'll talk to everyone.

Saying that Khushi headed towards the washroom while Arnav headed back down. As he came down Anjali moved towards him.

Anjali: Chote is Khushi alright?

Arnav: Di she's just upset.

Anjali: Yeah I can understand but there is something else.

Arnav: What di?

Anjali: It's seems as her parents barsi is a week before her birthday.

Arnav: WHAT?

Anjali: Yes Chote. Payalji just told us. I was thinking why don't we throw a surprise birthday party for Khushiji?

Shyam: That's a great idea rani sahiba. It would get khushiji's mind off everything.

Arnav was glaring at Shyam while Shyam was giving him an evil look.

Payal: No di. Khushi won't like that. Every year even on her birthday we go to the temple. She doesn't like celebrating her birthday since we were little. It is too close to the day where she lost everything thanks to the accident.

Arnav was very grateful to Payal.

Arnav: Look Di I know you and everyone is worried about Khushi but let us do what she normally use to do every year. That would be the best.

Anjali looked slightly dejected but gave in while Shyam was fuming. Arnav looked at him to see his reaction and was glad to see his mood off. Arnav then sat with his family discussing what they needed to do in three days. Once Khushi had freshened up she joined them and also got involved. The only person who excused themselves was Shyam saying he had some important work to get on with. He was pleased not one bit. He had thought when he found out it was Khushi birthday was I could be the first one to give her a birthday present and now. With this thought he went to his room away from everyone.
