ch-7 The Date (part 1)
Khushi got out of bed wondering how today would turn out, she asked herself if she had agreed too soon, but she knew that she couldn't deny him one chance to put things right. 5 years ago he had left her thinking he was doing the right thing, now he wanted to set it all right and she was sure she would not be able to hold back and watch him walk away from her hurt. She sighed and got ready for work, praying that she won't be left feeling empty and alone again.
Arnav barked orders into his phone, wanting everything to be perfect for her. He pondered over how he can make her see that he would be there from now on and he won't abandon her like he had 5 years ago. He wanted to make her believe that beneath the ruthless businessman the man who loved her was still alive, he wanted her to know that he hadn't lied when he told her 'I love you' 5 years ago.
Arnav stepped out of his apartment dressed in a spotless black suit, dressed to kill and looking perfectly at ease, not letting on a hint of the storm that was raging wildly within him. He rang the doorbell and waited for her, hoping she would not be disappointed.
Khushi heard the doorbell ring and she almost stopped breathing, things were different between them now, she was different and she hoped that tonight would allow her to leave behind the bitterness that had become a part of her life she opened the door and smiled at him, trying to look nonchalant but his ruggedly handsome looks did not go unnoticed by her, he still held her by his charm after all these years and had the ability to set her heart racing with just one look into his molten brown eyes.
He stood there staring at her like he was seeing her for the first time, gone was the girl dressed in sparkly chamkeeli suits, standing before him was a different Khushi dressed beautifully in a sea green dress that fell perfectly to her knees and complimented her complexion, her hair curled giving her an ethereal appearance. He finally managed to speak up in a hoarse voice 'Shall we go?'.
She nodded slowly and linked her arms through his and walked towards the elevator. 'Where are we going' she asked. He smiled at her and replied 'Wait and watch, you don't want to ruin the surprise do you?'.
He asked her to wait outside his car and came back soon with a beautiful bouquet of roses resembling the slight blush appearing on her cheeks. 'For you' he whispered and bent down and kissed her cheek.She smiled up at him, knowing she did the right thing by saying yes. He opened the door for her and sat down on his side later, smiling at her and promising with his eyes that she won't be disappointed. They drove off on their date with the soft music flooding them with a sense of hope and belief that what happens ahead would bring love and erase all the pain, regret, mistakes and bitterness and bring them together in a new beginning.
