"STOP IT…." She screamed! No...she can't take it anymore. She ran towards the cliff and stood at the edge again…she turned, facing her back to the fall…and there he was! She saw him…standing a few feet away from her…smiling. She smiled through her tears! He said nothing..he just smiled and extended his hand to her. she couldn't even differentiate between her imagination and reality. She extended her hand to reach him…and he just vanished! She smiled cruelly over her fate…her brain and her heart to have made a joke out of her life.

"ma..an…" she whispered, closed her eyes and jumped off!

Wow….everything had become so calm! She could hear the sound of water falling….Colliding against the rocks. Everything went dead silent….she could hear the flutter of her shirt…rising and drowning amidst the sound of the fall!

Hey wait a minute! Wasn't she supposed to be in the water, sinking? Time went slower and slower…..the last time she had jumped off like that….time had become slow too….and he was there to hold her…without any question…without any reason…and the warmth she felt when his hands had engulfed her into a protective embrace…did she want to stay away from him now?

Heart: nooo….i love him…and this time am not going to hurt myself…because I need him more than he needs me…for the warmth I feel with his touch…the secure I feel in his arms…I DON'T WANT TO LET GO…today…let go of him!

She waited for her brain to snap back…but nothing of that sort happened! Her brain couldn't form a single word against this….probably it realizes it similarly as her heart does…it realizes it was Maan and no one else who had brought her out of the darkness she was in! would she ever be able to see Maan again?

She still waited…but it could say nothing…because even it knows and recognizes his importance at this moment…MK is a completely different matter here…Maan is someone whom she needs right now. A smile crept on her lips…having won the battle…defeated her mind…and her eyes snapped open! The water touched her face letting her know what it wanted…it wanted to live that moment with Maan…the last time it had touched them…! She needs to live…to see him again…to hold him tight….to love him….she realized her love…in true sense! He made her feel so special in every single way…he let no pain touch her…then how could she let him go?

The water played with her skin just like that day…making her feel the same love that she had felt for him that day…and suddenly she felt her heart lighter…she took a deep breath in and tried to struggle through the cascading waves. She wanted to live! The waves pushed her down…she put in all her strength and tried to make sure her head remained above the water. She was swayed away by the waves! For a moment she felt she'd die…but again…if death was for her...Then not like this….not without him with her! She moved her hands and legs to keep herself floating…she needed to get out of this…! And at this moment she can't panic…she needs to keep her mind calm and composed….!

Some people were camping beside the stream. One of them saw a person drowning in the water. He panicked and told his mates. They saw that person struggling. One of them jumped, tying a rope around his waist while the others held on to the other end of the rope. The water currents were fast and furious.

She tried to inhale as much air as she could…but her hands and legs were giving up…she was feeling fatigued. She held on to a nearby rock to prevent herself from floating away. She closed her eyes for a moment and his face flashed in front of her. just then she felt someone hold her hand and pull her. was that him? She immediately opened her eyes to see a person trying to pull her out. Fate wasn't cruel at all. She thanked her Babaji for sending her savior at the right time. She held his hand and tried to move towards him.

His friends on the other side pulled the rope, lest the currents swayed them away. They finally managed to pull out both of them safely. She sat leaning against a rock, panting, trying to catch her breath! They asked her if she was okay. She looked at them..they seemed like a family. She thanked them heartily saying she had slipped off the cliff! And she rushed back to her car, all wet and tired. She drove as fast as she could…oh god! How would he be now? In her own inner turmoil, she had completely forgotten about him…arrghhh how selfish she had become? Damn! All this while she was thinking about herself… not even for once she thought how he was or what what he might be feeling…knowing very well that the 1^st thing he'd have looked for after gaining consciousness was her!

Ohh my…what has she done? Her one small lie…and that brought all the events back to her mind…clearer…Maan asking her to stay away from Dan, the night she got those marks on her lips…Rahul once did mention they had dropped her home the disc night, and she was worrying about it, Maan had so beautifully covered it up saying everything was okay and she needn't worry about it..and how stupid she could get to have forgotten it so easily! He banged her hand on the steering! Maan asking time and again to stay away from Dan, her meeting up with Dan...just because he had requested and she didn't want her friends to feel low…and her lies…damn hell…why did she lie? It was actually her own fear of losing Maan's trust, she realized, which she lost eventually anyways…she ran her hand though her wet locks!!! She felt herself so wrong!

She needed to know what could have happened that night they were at the disc. She pulled out her phone from her pocket and tried to call Rahul!!! Now that was great! Her phone decided not to work right at the perfect time…all thanks to her cliff-jumping with the phone in her pocket. The water had damaged it on a hell perfect timing! She took a sharp turn to Rahul's place and within no time she was there. She pushed the doorbell continuously until he opened the door.

Rahul was surprised to see her at his place and in that condition.

Rahul; geet…are you alright? What happened to you?

He pulled her inside and made her sit on the couch. She was trembling due to the cold. He turned on the room heater and brought her a towel. But she refused to sit.

Geet: Rahul…I need to talk..urgently

Rahul: wipe yourself dry 1^st…you'll catch a cold. Now sit!!!!

She sat restlessly holding the towel. Rahul got back with a mug of steaming coffee and kept it in front of her.

Rahul: here take it… calm down and tell me what happened!

Geet looked at him with a stern face, "I want to know what happened that night we were at the disc…I mean who got me back home?"

Rahul thought for a while…he wondered why she was asking that all of a sudden. She read that confusion on his face.

Geet: I need to know Rahul..its important!

Rahul sighed, "after we dropped jess, Dan and I went o drop you"

She winced at the name "Dan"!

Get: who helped in getting me to my flat?

Rahul; umm..it was Dan..i stayed back in the car!

She froze hearing it…so it was Dan? She felt that disgusting feel on her once again… it was him? The coffee mug fell down from her hands, crashing into millions of pieces….spilling over the hot fluid on the floor…as a layer of tears settled over her face! Everything started getting clear….dan taking her out for lunch from college, his holding her hand that day, his not inviting Rahul and jess most of the time, that night…it was him?

And Maan….tears rolled out. He had known everything from the beginning…yet he kept quiet lest she should feel guilty and fall in her own eyes! She looked at Rahul with those tearful eyes..

Geet: i…i…it was him?

Rahul went and hugged her. She let her tears fall.

Geet: it was all my fault Rahul…

Rahul: shh…it is not geet!

Geet: I lied to Maan..because of that…..

She couldn't even complete her sentence..she broke down. Rahul felt really bad to see her breaking down like that. he made her sit on the couch and wiped her tears. Fresh tears rolled out.

Rahul: I should have warned you before..

Geet: you..knew it all this while?

Rahul took a deep breath in, "yes…but Maan had asked me not to mention anything to you! He even had a talk with Dan saying not to disturb you…"

She couldn't stop herself from falling for him all over again!

Rahul: and since you know everything…I cannot hide it anymore. Dan likes you geet….i..i tried to make him understand/..but he'd listen to none!

She cried, "what do I do Rahul? How am I supposed to face Maan? And what do I do with Dan?"

Rahul held her hands, "only you can make Dan understand geet…."

"but..i..how can…"

"you have to geet…only YOU can! You are the prez..remember?? You have to face him anyway, sooner or later!"

"but Maan…"

"he waited for your one glimpse…he waited so much for you and trust me, he is not leading a happy life right now! Its almost a month geet…."

"h..how is he?" her voice trembled.

Rahul smiled to assure her, "he is absolutely fine now. His plasters are off and he is all fit. He wanted to talk to you so much….but he couldn't…"

And probably geet realized how much her lies had hurt him. Tears didn't seem to stop!

"i…I want to speak to him…how stupid I could get? I destroyed everything with my own hands!"

Rahul: shhh…its not that late either geet!

Geet: what do you mean?

He winked at her. he took out his phone, dialed Maan's number and gave it to her. her eyes went wider with surprise!

Rahul: now now…please concentrate on on the call baby!

Geet: but what will say…

And she heard his phone ring…! Her heart beats went higher and higher!

Maan was in a conference. He had joined office a week ago. He felt his phone vibrate!

Maan: Rahul?

He wanted to ignore it but for some reasons he couldn't! but he couldn't have taken the call in the middle of his meeting. He closed his eyes for a while and answered!

Before geet could even say anything, she heard him answer hurriedly, "am in an important meeting right now. Shall call you up later!"

And he disconnected the call. She closed her eyes in pain, in content…in happiness. It was like a bliss to hear him after so many days….! He was sounding fine.. she felt glad yet guilty to have forgotten about him amidst all her confusion!

Maan disconnected the call in a hurry but then he looked at his phone again…why did he feel it might be her? he could hear heavy breaths and could connect it to no one but her! was it her? was it? But why did she call from Rahul's phone? He sighed sadly, when he heard his assistant Adi start his presentation with his trademark laughter. He kept the phone aside, trying to concentrate on the meeting.

Geet gave the phone back to Rahul

Rahul: what happened? What did he say?

Geet: he is busy in a meeting. I must leave now. Thank you soo much Rahul!

He gave a bear hug, to which she reciprocated, "hey..this is what friends are for, right!"

She gave him a weak smile and turned to leave!

"go geet..he is waiting for you! Rush!!!"

She smiled through her tears and rushed out. Rahul waved her bye, till she was out of sight!
