Spice Gals - Rabba Ve! πŸ€—

NASA is reporting that Shuttle Sobti has now entered IPK orbit, and is expected to touch down in T-4 days. At this time, the PH would like to acknowledge the (NOT!) patiently waiting millions who have kept up a (NOT!) silent vigil all these weeks.

They just have ONE request - please stop dumping garbage outside their front doors each morning. For once - it REALLY WASN'T their fault.

Today's Take 5 - as we count down the days to a safe landing at the desi Cape Canaveral, otherwise known as the IPK sets.

1. Shyam-ji, can you help me make an ass of you? Khushi-ji takes Hulk along for a ride, literally and metaphorically. However, Di has finally noticed that all is not kosher in Utopia when she sees Khushi-ji and "Woh" leaving together. Will this lead to a Eureka moment? Depends on how big a stink Daljeet created while renegotiating her role.

The fake lawyer with his fake smile hands over fake property papers, and KSR fake signs them. Ok, I take the last part back - the signature was probably real. πŸ˜‰

But it is enough to convince the Hulk that there is potential for reptilian rabba-ve...if only Khushi-ji would tell him about that phone call. Didn't he go to all the trouble of recording background music for the call? The least she could do is acknowledge his genius!

2. ...And she does. Hulk-ji? Arnav-ji called me, but the call dropped before I could ask him where he stores the key to Fort Knox. Shyam-ji, I hate Arnav-ji! 😑

There's no confusion though - she's an equal opportunity hater, and doesn't discriminate between them. So don't start getting ideas - Shyam-ji, coz I hate YOU as well. And if there weren't so many people around, I'd stick my tongue out and stomp on your foot too.

So there. 😑

3. Ouch. The Hulk has tender, sensitive feelings buried WAY inside that mountain of muscle - and they doth protest. πŸ˜• Khushi-ji - I'm an overmuscled, middle-aged lawyer who sponges off his wife's family - how can you compare me to that drop-dead handsome, charismatic, self made billionaire tycoon you call your husband - and find me wanting? After all, I LUB you in my own sick way!

Hulk even gets an FB of his own - back to when he first met her in his Hulk-ling days. (What happened, buddy? Steroids? 😲 And since when does that result in uncontrolled proliferation of facial hair?)

4. NK has ants in his pants. Khushi-ji, what happened? Khushi-ji finally reveals how it was all a well crafted plan, and millions of viewers finally let out the breath they've been holding in since Friday. Those bumps on the head did some good after all - she's learned the value of an alibi. NK knows it all - hallelujah. πŸ‘

Devi Maiiya is working overtime to make up for all those weeks of neglect. KSR even heard the (mandir) bells and (train) whistles from Di's room! She knows the hoodwinker is out to hoodwink her, so she will hoodwink the hoodwinker. (Repeat that five times really fast for DM's aashirwaad.)

The Hulk is sprawled by the pooside, dreaming about Khush-ji. 😍
Khushi-ji is perched by the same poolside, dreaming about Arnav-ji. 😍

But course they don't see each other since they're actually in parallel universes. Khushi-ji's signals are stronger - the Rabba-ve GPS kicks in...

5. ...and Arnav-ji FINALLY gets a change of clothing! πŸ₯³ This was mandatory - SI probably refused to shoot with him unless he showered and changed.

After a misfire and false start (Sobti - you gotta work on those expressions, buddy) they finally move to the second verse of the song they began on Jan 23rd.

He pulls her close, and orthopedic surgeons start reporting an unusual mass epidemic - teenage girls complaining of dissolving knees and legs filled with jell-o. πŸ€ͺThere's some hyperventilating and fainting thrown in for good measure - from all those too-cool-for-desi-soaps teenage boys who happened to catch a glimpse of Sanaya's endless midriff in that outfit.

The song (and Arnav-ji's dream) ends all too soon, TRP Maiiya has been appeased, and we're all back to status quo. Well, all except for the long line outside the ER.

This Teri Meri didn't really work for me. πŸ˜• The original Jan 23rd version became a cult classic among IPK fans, because it slid seamlessly and beautifully into the story. This one was a square peg in a non-existent hole. 'Nuff said.

What will the week bring? Rumors fly like gnats at a picnic - there's a fight, there's an MU, she gets shot, he gets out. CV's respond with folded hands - Devi Maiiyas, we will deliver whatever you want - bas thoda aur wait!

Fine, Mr Hegde. We'll wait. But we'll keep the garbage bag handy too.

Just in case.

"Khushi ulaj gayi" - It was few evenings before Diwali, Khushi was at the pool side trying to untangle the fairy lights and without realizing, gets fully entangled in the same. Arnav unknowingly switches the power on, which hurts her and puts her in danger. He however ends up untangling her and setting her free - foreshadowing indeed for what has been happening from last week and what will follow.

Khushi's only goal now is to get to Arnav and unmindful of the dangers, she is marching ahead. She convinces Shyam that all that matters to her is revenge on Arnav. She reveals the phone call as well as signs on the documents he wants her to and passes his test with flying colors. Shyam is shocked on seeing her anger and says to his astonishment that he never knew that Khushi is capable of such anger, again he is seeing only what he wants to see through his tinted glasses.

Khushi's slow trust pushes him back into his delusional world where he thinks he can have it all - the girl, money and revenge on Arnav. Khushi's behaviour has rekindled his desire for her. His anger is going to have no bounds when he realizes that he was fooled by her and this is where Khushi is going to get hurt because she woke up the devil in him.

In spite of all the confusion she is in, Khushi still insists to NK that she needs to return the money back to Anjali as she does not want to deceive her. Loss of money can be compensated but what about the trust that will be broken when Anjali knows the truth?

I liked the Teri-meri scene, with wonderfully apt words "Kyun khuda tune mujhe khwab dikhaye jab haqeekat me use todna tha" and choreography. Teri Meri has to trademarked in my opinion as an IPK song! What was more powerful was the gut wrenching " Khushi" uttered by Arnav after his dream which reverberates all the way to Khushi.

Sanaya was brilliant again in confrontation with Shyam and looked gorgeous in the dream scene. Abbas rocked the devilish Shyam with his signature BG music. Barun started the dream a bit weird but very quickly switched into ASR mode. Loved the episode, rocking start to the week.

Lady J you are hilarious! The intro and Take 5 is now on my list of the Top 10 Funniest Spice Girl IPK moments! 🀣

And here it begins again...another Monday and more anticipation of what will happen and what wont happen...πŸ˜†

Khushi tells Shyam to come with her and the Goon agrees...again another Duffer moment on his part and he leaves the door open...who knew though that this duffer move will add a new fun element to it! Anjali see's Shyam and Khushi leave together and wonders whats up with this ...ah maybe just maybe the dead bulb in her head will shine on miraculously...let's wait and watch...this might actually be a lot of fun! πŸ˜›

Khushi passes the test of the Shyam...yup THE SHYAM...πŸ˜† adds an element of Mogamboness to it IMPO and just sounds a little more fun.....anyhows and now he waits for her to tell him about the call from her Arnav...she signs the documents an they go to a tea stall...where she refuses the tea...HELLO why did you go sit at a tea stall if you did not want tea???? πŸ˜• Anyhow...this game is starting to become very interestingly annoying...move it along and let's end this already. The acting is fabulous but now I want to see The Shyam get a beating of a lifetime already! 😈

Khushi plays the game along superbly...she plays Shyam into his own game and tells him about the phone call...can I say this is something I expected ASR to do but am impressed with KKGSR...she emphasis on how she hates both the Shyam and the ASR...and at this point its all starting to sound like BLAH BLAH BLAH...let's get this over with PUHLEEJ! 😡

NK and Khushi have a "what happened today wrap up" meeting and discuss the "PLAN" and everything went well and as they wanted. Chalo thank you now we know everything was a plan...seriously do i look so stupid to think that all this was not a plan? Again I am naive not stupid...I can do basic math too and i think we knew this was all a setup...Satyanash scenes these were...The kissa CD ka is all dumb...plus who listens to a CD on a DVD player not hooked to anything? πŸ˜• The FB and all that was not needed...So we know Khushi wont go looking for a temple around a train track...Brilliant! AB aage kya? Ah more discussing plan and more Khayali Pulao making in Shyam's head...Sheikh Chilli died and left Shyam in charge of the stupids!

As with most of the Monday episodes the meat is in the last 3/4 minutes of episodes and here we go again...Khushi stands Poolside staring at the skie's with questions in her eyes reflecting over the moment's shes spent with her Arnavji...and there Arnav/ASR/Sobti boy makes his comeback...his soul awakens and the dupatta goes flying with the humming of Rabba Ve in the background...he has a weird look on his face probably because he is staring into blank space and then notices Khushi there and the hesitant look disappears as Khushi blinks and smiles in his direction with the wind blowing and hair moving Teri Meri comes alive and the words of the song come alive with these 2. The words fit...the Dream breaks and Khushi goes Poof...only to run back into his arms only to turn around look at him with love and guilt and walks away bringing him back to the reality of their existence...he yells Khushi and Khushi hears him...the pain clearly seen on both their faces...😭 This was done well...i dunno if it was needed or not...but it helped behlao the audience for yet another day...

CV's...the last 4 minutes is what i watched 22 minutes of weird mind games for. The waiting game continues....TICK TOCK TICK TOCK....the end better be near because a Suitless ASR is starting to make me very antsy...just saying...πŸ˜†

Song of the evening...a perfect song for the last few minutes of the show...Shayad yeh pyaar hai...😍

Jamba you are hilarious!! Loved your take 5

I loved tonight's episode, I'm glad the CVs showed in FB what NK and Khushi had planned for Shyam as many were left with more questions than answers after Friday's episode. Once again the tight scripts remain intact. Khushi continues to impress with each passing episode, she's no longer naive like before now she's alert which is essential when dealing with someone like Shyam.
It seems Khushi is not alone in becoming more alert, Anjali notices Khushi and Shyam leaving together that he lied to her but will it be enough to create doubts? Only time will tell
I actually enjoyed the Teri Meri sequence, it was not OTT like Khushi's. It was very much in character for ASR who finally got a change of clothes and gelled hair! The lyrics fit the current track perfectly especially the part about "Kyun khuda tune mujhe aisa khwaab dikhaya jab haqeeqat mein use todna tha". Then there was the end where he called out for Khushi and she could hear him, they really do have a connection to each other
I know many are growing impatient with the kidnapping track but I do believe its coming to an end, the CVs just need time to wrap it up and by that I mean one that is not rushed. I don't want the CVs feeling like they must rush things just because viewers are getting impatient, too much time has been invested in this track so why not give it a proper end? I actually admire the CVs for going this route instead of writing Barun off completely during the filming of his movie, they found a way to work around his schedule while moving the track forward in more ways than one.

Another vroom, vroom, fast paced episode. The psychological chess continues with a little TRP ploy of Teri Meri. I guess the CVs do believe that husbands and wives get more and more like each other with time --- hence the ongoing ASR-ization of Khushi and Khushi-ization of ASR. ASR, broken and dejected at the end, curling almost into a fetal position - how the mighty have fallen!

While the epi had me engaged and the action moved swiftly, I'm having a very hard time investing in this track. At this point I know we need to suffer through at least 4-5 more Sobti-less episodes - so be it. But I dont want this 'napper thriller any more, even though it brings a Shyam who is creepy and menacing. Abhaas, nice job today! πŸ‘

Hitchcockian Masala: So my chief problem with this plotline --- apart from the fact that it is too little too late!---- I can't leave logicwa in the deep freeze. As long as it was the Bond girls in action, that was fine. Bond stories are about action and W*F-ery! But when you move into the Hitchcockian territory of mind games, logicwa is the life blood. Simply put, that is the nature of the this beast.

Khushi setting up Shyam for a fall and vice versa has too many holes, too much hand waving is going on. She makes a terrific start - Shyam and Arnav are mirror images, they're responsible for her life being in tatters and hence she hates both equally --- full marks for shaatir dimaag! ⭐️

So why would Khushi share anything willingly with Shyam? For instance she doesn't remember the holi confession why confess about the coerced shaadi? Why would she share her suspicions about the kidnapping. Shyam already knows about Manorama Bond's part in the sleuthing and so he knows that at least one other member of RM shares Khushi's suspicions.

Why should she mention the phone call from Arnav, why would Shyam expect it? Why would she ask for his help with the land deal (clearly Aakash is a better bet, it's all too easy for her to cross check with him and to have met the REAL Mr Roy!).

The mandir bells and train sounds were to confound Arnav and trick Khushi into revealing her true position? That is just laughable! What was she supposed to do with that information? That plot device was merely to confirm Shyam's villainy.

The point is all Khushi purportedly knows about Shyam is that he is capable of cheating on his wife and hoodwinking his mehabooba. Given that, why would she be so forthcoming? It's suspiciously easy - he needs to show his hand somewhat and give her something for her to confide in him, even if it is reluctantly.

Now after her intrepid actions and despite her nosy nature, they've completely sidelined Manorama Bond because it doesn't serve the plot. AND... Khushi wants to return the money, knowing Anjali will helpfully pass this info on to villain-in-chief? πŸ˜•

There are contrivances galore and they're impossible to ignore. The CVs have handed out to the audience the "I'm an idiot AND I'm deluded" hats -the same one that Shyam has on. I don't have the mental energy for this anymore. 🀒

Just give us PayAsh or something... anything and bring Sobti back next Monday. I don't care how he escapes - if I can buy other plot holes, I'll buy this one. Let's call the 'napper mystery a wash, reset the story and begin again. I'm happy to have amnesia on that score. πŸ˜‰

The one plot point that had some promise is that Anjali catches both Shyam and Khushi in a lie. Where they're going with that I can't say but at least it gives the CVs some room to manoeuvre the Anjali awakening.

Teri Meri 360: TRP ploy clearly, but it begs the question of why they didn't promote it. No time or the last time they promoted the action in the hutwa, it didn't work so well?

This one added nothing at all to the narrative. Mercifully it was short, it focused on the tadap, the yearning for something precious that comes to you only to be cruely snatched away. What worked nicely was that from the hallucination came that final cry that is the anguish of a lost soul which finds its echo by the poolside - agreed completely on that Savvy!

After that meeting of two anguished cries from the soul, there is no way we can end up anywhere except at a very happy milan -- even if it is a brief one. MUs, gun shots, redemption will all have to wait. The cadence of this tale of anguished separation of souls has to crescendo in a happy reunion. Anything less will just not ring true.

I will say I had a few bad moments at the start of the sequence - the puppy dog looking as if he's been cruelly whipped had me almost crossing to the Nafrat-MU team. 😑 We need Arnav's mojo back even if the ASR moxie isn't quite there yet. But by the time Arnav hooked Khushi by the waist and pulled her close, Sukhi (damn him!) had disappeared. I was never a fan of the lip syncing (including the first time around) but I think here it helped both actors. It gave them a way to structure their emotions, to give their expressions body and meaning.

At the end of the day, Hottieji and Sexyji looked absolutely fabulous. ❀️ It was a visual treat, a real pleasure to see such unbridled gorgeousness on display. ⭐️ On which very shallow note, I'm ready to move on to money shot Tuesday! πŸ˜›

Hi Jamba and SG's,

Great Take 5πŸ‘πŸΌ

Fantastic episode today and dhamakedar start to the week; it was great from start to finish and an excellent blend of fast paced storytelling, drama and passionate romance.

I am loving this shatir dimag wali Khushi who now has DM as her guiding light and support. I liked the whole scene with Shyam and Anjali and loved her scene with NK. The mixture of FB's and dialogues were very effective way to bring out how exactly Khushi is playing Shyam per her plan and how DM is showing they way with the hints and well timed signs. I am super glad that NK is in on EVERYTHING and that she has his full support.

Sanaya and Abhaas were very good today; both in their individual scenes and scenes together. He is finally falling for Khushi's plan and beginning to trust her, plus he is becoming overconfident and this will lead to his downfall. Khushi is brilliantly using his lust/love for her and is playing a smart though extremely dangerous game.

The dream sequence was beautiful; was it needed and did it help with the story movement: maybe not, did I enjoy it: HELL YES! Loved how it started with Khushi missing Arnav and thinking of their romantic intimate moments together. Then slowly moved on to Arnav; it was a fantasy of a man in love, one who is filled with desire and is terribly missing his lady love. I think it was the perfect display of passion, romance and desire and was very ASR from the moment he grabbed her wait and pulled her close to him😍. I did not care much for the lip sync but I had not liked that in the original either The teri meri worked well and they managed to sync the words of the song very aptly with the current situation and track. I love this "dil wala" Arnav: I do not think the sequence was not in character for him. These feelings of love, desire and helplessness are new to him. Yes he is ASR; the one who makes his own destiny but even the strongest of us have our weak moments and today was just that; where he felt intense desire and longing for her but is vulnerable and helpless because of the situation.

Barun looked dashing and Sanaya gorgeous; what a handsome couple and so comfortable with each otherπŸ˜‰. I loved her sexy lehnga choli, the flying dupattaπŸ˜†πŸ˜† and the intense back hug was my favorite shot of the sequence. In the end when he realizes it was just his imagination, looks around and calls out Khushi and she hears him and looks around; true soul mates; dil se dil ka connection!

After a long time the entire forum seems elated about the episode and the dreamπŸ˜ƒ. I'm so glad the majority loved it today, cannot wait for the remaining week to play out!

Ms J, reptilian rabba-ves???? 🀣 🀣🀣
Briliiant take as usual just about overflowing with snark πŸ˜‰

So, for me, the episode had lots of Satyanash moments. Shyam brings home the CD with the recorded train and temple music? Really? So why did Arnav tell Khushi he keeps hearing those sounds from his cell? πŸ˜•
But, but, but...I'll see your satyanash and raise you an end of the kidnapping track.
It seems to me that they're rushing with the scheming duo pulling a fast one on Shyam and I'm a-okay with it. I do not have the patience to watch a long-drawn out chhal. sheh aur maat operation. Bring heroji back and THEN let the games begin.

Much has been said about the dream sequence. I'll just say I'm firmly in the pro camp and let it rest at that. It has been a long long time since we saw the leads in the same frame -without the interfering body doubles, and it was a sight for sore eyes. It reminded us why we're still watching the show.

So SGs,

Edited: Shortened to avoid long post.
NK is in on the plan, Khushi knows the bells and trains were a false alarm set up by Shyam because of the CDs, Anjali sees Khushi and Shyam leaving together and NK has the money so that it could be safely returned to Anjali.. all revealed in a series of FBs. If we went 5 steps ahead in the fast paced friday episode, we went 10 steps back today to have steps 3, 4 and 5 explained. πŸ˜•

Ok then.

Khushi signs the papers that Shyam asks her to sign at Mr. Fake Mustache's office.

NK (at some completely disconnected moment in the episode) : But how do you know those papers can't be used to hurt Nanav??

K: because I know the real Mr.Roy and this one ain't it. Ergo, papers are fake, too.

Right!!! Because Shyam the lawyer is not smart enough to come up with papers that might actually be legally valid.

Ok , then. Moving on...

Shyam and Khushi , sitting on a bench, drinking tea...that's it. Nothing more. Khushi, very smartly, in between an seemingly angry rant against Arnie boy, slips news that Arnie had called, but she didn't catch anything that could be a clue.

Humen laga nahi tha aapko bhi itna gussa aa sakta hai , Khushi-ji.

aap khud bhi to parivaar ko dhoka de rahe hai. to hume aise mat dekhiye

Khushi convinces Shyam that she is indeed after the money and is having second thoughts about her hate for Shyam. This is enough for Shyam to go to the pool to indulge in some Khushi dreams by the poolside with the dhaansoo BG playing again. Ok then.

Aaj jin haalaton se hum guzar rahen hai , woh aap dono ki wajah se hai. Aap mein aur unmein koi fark nahi hai

Arnav ne aapko sirf Nafrat di hai or humne sirf pyaar...

There is a point to this constant comparison between Shyam and Arnie boy. And someday, very soon, the point will be made.

Khushi on an alternative plane, is at the poolside, watching the stars and dreaming about the almost kisses...Very ASR's pose, this -- hands folded and somber.

On another side of this alternate plane, Arnie boy, rises out of himself , with an all white ensemble, lip syncs to teri meri and of course, tries on some ASR moves. After a very cringy loveface, he moves on to ASR sort of moves and ends with another more Arnav-like loveface. When the white messiah melds with the banian Messiah, we get a hoarsely uttered "Khushi" that brings back hopes that the dude will get his ASR chops on soon. Very soon. The end made up for the miss in the beginning. He is getting there.

Khushi looked absolutely lovely in the midriff baring blue -white lehenga, stunning. πŸ‘πŸΌ

Barun, dude, Sanaya and Abhaas have been pinch hitting for you the last month and brought their A game on. You need to catch up and fast. Even more important, because, the track coming up is something we have waited quite a while for now. And you bringing your Sukhi alter ego to it will be really really sad.

Notes:

1) Anjali sees Khushi and Shyam leaving together after lying to her. Hoping this does get developed further and is not reduced to another one of her's "aap bhi na..."

2) The thing with telling the story with FBs is that it loses it's punch. This is something that we should have been privy to right from the beginning. There are moments where the audience needs to be a part of the journey... Khushi's plan is one of them. Arnie's moment of realisation of how much he has wronged Khushi is another one of them. Twists are TRP garners, yes, but not for something as crucial as this, especially since a chunk of the audience has been missing for a while. It's a balance between highlighting the shatir dimaag and the audience's need to be part of the journey. If there is a galley to be played to, choosing the "anna-daata" galley would be the thing to do.

3) Mar gayi woh khushi. yeh woh Khushi hai hi nahi.

Paisa , Jaydad, yeh saari cheezen hamare liye koi mayne nahi rakhti thi. Par humen khudgarz hona hi hoga. Apne parivar, amma , babuji ke baarein mein sochna hoga. aur issi sab ki wajah se Khushi ko badalna hoga..

yeh sab kya ho raha hai , Beta Duryodhan?? Na, Sati Draupadi ka apmaan na kar, Na. πŸ˜‰

As usual...your take 5 delivers...and how!

You did not like Teri Meri today? No surprise in that!

I liked it..but then it is easy to please the romantic in me.

Yep..I too thought Barun seemed a bit off in the beginning...then caught up with it soon enough.
Later it was all good.

It must be hard for him to be the happy-go-lucky Sukhi one day then next day transition into ASR...a stoic tough guy who has recently realized he is in love...rarely smiles, gets FBs, but dreamed the first time romancing his lady love while lip syncing to a BW number...

The only part I did not really like was the lip syncing -which I had not liked in the original dance either.

But...I liked the sequence a lot...Khushi looked drop dead gorgeous and stunning in that dress, which ahem ahem was cooked up in ASR's imagination...☺️

I wonder why they did not show a peck on the cheek at least?! Itna bhi kya...amidst all the touch feely, surely a peck would not have looked out of place?

Khair...rest of the episode was good...story moving along fast.

But for me...I am so done with this kidnapping track..I want Arnie's rescue to happen...somehow I have lost interest in all the scheming, planning, fooling etc etc...Friday...come soon!

Hey Jamba and SG's!!

Lovely take Jamba and I agree, we'll wait, and we hope it'll be worth it or it may just backfire! :O :P!

I loveddd today's episode. There wasn't a moment where I felt "oh this is too much", okay there was a moment that made me feel that and we all know what I'm referring to, but for the most part, it was very well paced and took the story 2 steps forward.

The battle is getting more intense and deep. As much as I loved both Khushi and Shyam today (both SI and AM were brilliant in emoting today), I'm starting to worry about the honestness in her words. Everything she has said since Friday regarding Arnav is sadly true. He did ruin her life, he did make everything regarding her a mockery, he did trouble her family initially, but he has made peace with them and last the fact that he's paying for his own deeds.
We all are thinking that, but she's vocalized it and it worries me, because if there is a (fake) MU part 2, it may crush her because as I said in the last thread, she won't know Arnav is playing his game to trap Shyam and may crush her.

Arnav... oh the poor tortured soul. Yes, what he did to Khushi was not right. But what happened to him wasn't either. He is severely insecure and highly guarded because of how his life turned out and the measures he took henceforth were all to protect the one person who has kept him in a way "grounded" to the normalcy of life and not deprived him of love and affection.

I loveddd the Teri Meri sequence. It was a very pleasent surprise, one that made me squeak and drink hot coffee too fast and burn my tongue.. but what the hell, it was beautiful!!
Sanaya and Barun looked divine.
A lot of people were worried about the lip-syncing, but it isn't "lip syncing" per se, its just them reiterating the lyrics into "dialogues" to one another and trying to communicate.. (both times).
It was purely his POV and his yearning for her love and company. I wanted to go hug him, poor soul. This misery needs to stop, he needs to be rescued. I really want to see him and Khushu trying to work together to put all this past them and get closer.
