For months now, there's been a buzz that the afternoon daily Kesar is set to go off air. In fact, speculation was rife that the plug would soon be pulled on the Nandini Singh-Nikkhil Arya drama, but the telecast continued. However, sources from Balaji now confirm that the curtains are indeed falling on Kesar some time in August.
"Kesar will be replaced by a show titled Kiske Naam Ki Mehendi," says Ekta Kapoor. Even though the cast is yet to be finalised, rumours abound that Sanjit Bedi has already found his place on the show.

A creative working on the new project says, "The story revolves around a Punjabi family who had come to India during partition. They are very conservative, with lot of restrictions being imposed on their daughter. She isn't allowed to step out of the house late, and is asked to come back home early. The story takes a twist when the girl has to let go of her boundaries, go out to work and take care of her parents."
Even though there is no lead actor finalised for the show, the shoot is scheduled to commence on August 16. Recently, the production house also made an announcement about Kavyanjali being replaced by a new show, Karam Apna Apna (formerly Kasturi), in the near future.
