Arnav went up the stairs, not ready to even process what his sister had said. Of course falling in love wasn't an option, love is a what people mistake attraction to be. His sister should know more than anyone. She was right there when he found out and she can't be that nave. There is no such thing as love and no matter what everyone is saying he's never going to be a part of the craze.

Once he opened the door he realized that he was in Kushi's room, not his. He walked in surprised because his room was on the other end of the corridor. He went to the bed and saw the package " To Arnav, Love Lavanya". This girl isn't going to stop harassing me with this anytime soon, is she?

He opened the package and saw what was inside. Like always there was a book, a love story to be more precise. Arnav had never bothered to read any of those books. He'd just put them under his bed then shift them to the store room. She was trying so hard to make him believe in love. Why won't people just leave me alone? He took the book and was going back but for some reason he didn't want to leave the room. It had a weird sense of peace to it. He went back to the bed and laid down holding the book. He opened the book at a random page and started reading.

"Are you kidding me? You really don't believe in love?"

"Josh I told you earlier, love is a people addiction. People should go to rehab if they have it. They are running to it when they should be running from it. And it like many other addictions ends in tragedy."

Exactly Arnav thought agreeing. He was surprised to find that someone else thought like him. It was like all of his thoughts about love were put to paper. Surprised that Lavanya was giving him this kind of books he started reading further.

"So then would you mind explaining to me what you are doing sitting in her room, on her bed then?"

Arnav stopped reading and looked around. He was sitting on Kushi's bed, in fact he was sitting on her favorite side of the bed.

"I told you it's an addiction, I'm addicted."

"So you're in love"

"If that's what you call an addiction, then yes. And I'm going do what any smart person in my situation would do, I'm going to stay away from her."

Arnav stopped reading and put the book down. He stood up and rushed out of the room, he needed fresh air and he needed it now. He ran to the terrace and started watering his plants, it was a habit. Whenever he'd go up there he'd water his plants.

He stood there thinking of their moments together. Kushi's long black her, her sexy lips and how turned on he'd get whenever she'd sit with her feet on the chair and give him a crooked smile while playing with her hair.

He thought of how he'd be able to sit and talk to her while she cooked dinner. Remembering how happy he was for those minutes or hours he'd get to spend with her in the evening and how he excited he was every night to get the chance to spend some time with her.

Then it hit him, he was in love. He Arnav Singh Raizada was in love and that too with Kushi. The realization hit him hard and he was shocked, the emotion he had been running from all his life was now a part of him. What do I do now? How do I deal with this, with her? Then he remembered the last line he read from the book "And I'm going do what any smart person in my situation would do, I'm going to stay away from her." That was it Arnav had made up his mind, no matter what happened he had to stay away from Kushi. He wasn't going to destroy his life by running after this poison people call love.

Kushi on the other hand had been walking around trying to find a taxi and all she could manage to find were rikshaws. She took the riskhaw and asked the man to take her to the nearest hotel. She was beating herself up for what had happened. The first time she had fallen in love and it had to be with her boss. Not only that, she had to act on her stupid feelings. I don't know what got into me. Why did I have to do this? The worst part is that this is a one year contract and I still have 8 months to go. If I leave this and go I'll never have another job, here or in the US. No one is going to hire me after quitting at The Raizada Fashion house. OMG, amma and babuji are coming here soon too, there goes the chance of quitting this job. What am I going..

"Excuse me ma'am, we're at the hotel."

Kushi barely registered what he said caught up in her thoughts. She took out some money and gave him, before walking out of the car towards the hotel. She wasn't sure how long she was going to stay here for. No matter what she has to find a house for her parents to stay in when they got to India.

Kushi woke up in the morning tired and emotionally drained. She didn't want to get up and face what was ahead of her. To make matters worse her first meeting was with him.

"You got yourself into this Kushi, now get up and get ready for work."Kushi told herself removing the cover from her head, still unsure whether she should go out or not. She had asked for a white room with white and blue furniture so that she could feel more at home. After what she went through she was ready to hop on the first flight back to New York. She missed the well known streets and the people back home. Right now she didn't even know how to get to the office.

After getting ready she went to the lobby and asked for a taxi to take her to work. They arranged for the hotel car with a driver for her to use for a fair amount of money. She was happy with the deal and the fact that she didn't have to worry about getting around. Not wanting to give him the pleasure of knowing how broken she was Kushi had hidden her puffy eyes with makeup and wore her professional attire all ready to get back to work.
