Later that evening he texted her, I am sending you a parcel with Mohan , accept it and be ready, will pick you up by 7:30.
After sometime Mohan delivered the pkt and left .
She opened it, it had a beautiful dark blue saree in with silver small round motifs, if you saw it you would feel it like a night sky with stars string across it, she felt happy, it had a note, with your white fair skin, this with accent it like the moon across the stars, she smiled at the thought, by 6:30 she started getting ready and he walked in by 6:45, he looked strained, as if a guitar string, she could see uncertainity in his stance, she walked to him and said, Arnav ji are you allrite, he smiled a weak smile, just tired, she knew there was more to it but he wouldnt tell her until the right moment, she knew it she got ready and when she came back, she saw, he had changed into casuals and was waiting for her.
He looked relaxed now & as soon as he saw her his eyes stopped, as if he was drinking her in, she walked a few steps close to her, and offered his hand to her, she took it and he pulled her a little closer, he told her you do not look bad at all, you look perfect tonite & smirked his signature smirk. They left in his SUV, he drove agn to the same mansion and this time agn offered his hand while getting down, and she quietly followed, this time he let her in with him, he took her hand & guided her to a room, when they opened the room, he flicked on the light & pressed a remote button, and wardrobe opened & followed by a few more she saw it and was lil unsure but then he took her there and pointed, she saw it had chudiyaan ( bangles) it all colors, bought in each day of past three years( with dates written under each set.), in all colors under the sun but mostly in red, she was moved, was a understatement, she turned to him and he looked with ease towards her, proud in his love for her, and then the moved to other room, the room he again opened the wardrobes and this one was filled in sarees, from all styles and design in green & red, again dated as per each day of the last 3 years,& finally he took her to a room, which has similar wardrobes & each was filled with hand pressed red roses, each for the past three years, she was so overwhelmed with emotions that tears had been running down & she ran back & hugged him, she cried,,,, her heart swelling in his dedication to her. this time he hugged her abck with full conviction that DM had been indeed kind to him. and finally she quitened after what seemed like eternity and then he said I hv something more for you but that will be given to you after you hv hd your dinner.
Slowly he took her poolside with him, they had a quite dinner, she was moved to her core and he was trying to gauge her reaction.
they enjoied jalebis after that, she chckd him to not hv it he said dunt worry they are made in sugarfree and I am sure abt the fact bcz I made them myself for you & i knew you will not eat it until I hv it so I made them in sugar free.
She was surprised to what he had admitted A man like Arnav who pride was a cloak for himself was opening to her, tears shimmered her eyes.
he wiped his tears and told khushi, please dunt waste them they are precious.
they sat for a few moments and he took her back to lounge, he said wait here Khushi, will you wait for a few mins I will be back, Khushi was unsure but she couldnt utter anything, she felt the emotionally dishelved, how could Arnavji love her so much, how had made sure that she was included in all days of his life for past 3 years.
when he came back he had large wooden in his hand, which was intricately carved, a treasure box it looked, he gv it her, with questions in her eyes she looked it, he opened it softly and inside there were hundreds of envelopes, she turned them and all of the were address to her. Again she noted they all were dated. surprisngly all of them had date but from the bangles to roses everything were there from the day 1 where in letter werent there for first few months, it was strange, she looked in his eyes, he said if you remember that night when you left you hadnt heard me completely, I was asking forgiveness and I was confirming my love but when you left, the next morning when I woke up, I hadnt sleept most of the night, I had cried for my self, my lack of trust & my loss but somewhere I was determined to hv you back too so when I woke, everything at RM was full of chaos, my di was at her wit's end, her life had once again turned upside down, she had 2 babies and her strength had disappeared overnite so, I took charge of being her strength once gan, I knew we could never let each other down,. even though di was befret at her loss, I couldnt blame you, it was my fault I knew it. so I had to fix it. I orgainised everything, faced evrything at RM.
Later in the day it became to face my ownself so I took my SUV and left, after a few hrs of mindless driving, I was passing a signal & i saw child and he had red roses, infact his last bunch, I bought it I didnt knew it why but I did and then I remembered the bangles I bought them. sooner or later I knew we will be together, that was my only hope & reason to live, ASR nvr lost, he made his own destiny, yet destiny had played a game with him, I was ready to loose evrything just to hv you but alas, I couldnt but i knew patience would help me, but when the next day came it hit with more force that when I entered our room, you werent there, i missed ur smile, ur fights evrything, next day I again bought the same thing but I added a saree to it too, they would me sooth me for mins but again the pain would return.
I had hired Mr Mehrotra as you know, each day I would wait for report, that was first thing I would look reaching office, but slowly & steadily I realised may be coming back will never be a option for you bcz each report told me how broken & lost you were, the more I realised that the more I found the distance between us and time passed with its own ups & down and than after few months on Nani & di's insistence I wrote my first letter to you, in hope some day you might read it or it might mirror my regret or pain for me, but I had decided by then that I will leave you, will never try to contact you, jus observe from afar, bcz I knew no one could live with a monster like me . but my tears needed a vent to help my dear ones so in each letter i pored my heart in the intial letter you may find tear marks too. she gv him a broken smile, she knew he loved her and with utmost honesty he had laid his heart bare for her.
she hugged him, time stood still and destiny was awed with the innocence of the moment, they hugged each other for etrnity it felt like that jus drinking in each other and souls at peace. after a long time they seperated and Arnav said, khushi, i bought in your clothes here with me and hv kept them in your room, you can change here and we will be sleeping in, tommorow we are going out.
I hope you wont my planning this for you. she just gv him a weak smile, she didnt want to move anywhere just be with him, he had laid the world at her feet tonite, she was thanking DM continously for her blessed luck.
She caught hold of his hand, pointed her hand, for him to sit next to her, she held his hand and then kept a her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes, catching these precious moments to memory, slowly he kept his head on hers, silence at its best with compassion and he felt sleep enveloped her after sometime, he knew she had fought a tough battle but finally she was home, later he carried her to bed and tucked her in.
he went to his room , a grateful look towards the skies was all he had.
