Well, this post is meant to address each n every D3 forum member; be it a KRian, a SSian or a neutral fan. As D3 viewers, we all do so much for the show. We all post topics, give suggestions to the creatives, express our likes n dislikes n many more. Each one of us writes or reads fanfictions. We create or admire VMs n so on. By and large, we live a life parallel to d celebrities we adore. All dis sounds damn entertaining na. Anyone, be it a geek even, is bound to get attached wid all these promising stuffs. No one will ever get bored, at least on dis forum, isn't it?

But, theres a stark side of all dese surreal experiences. We all r running after a world which is hypothetical in itself. I m not saying dat dese things r bad; but we certainly have to limit these things. Take d example of FFs. On one hand, we can say dat they r damn entertaining but on the other hand, we can certainly draw a line between writers who r either gud, excellent or outstandingly brilliant. As readers, we certainly need to realize the difference. And writers need to ponder over the fact that not everyone can admire their works. They need to minimize their works so that everyone can read them. They shud write 1 or2 fanfics but they must not compromise in the quality of their works. Quantity needs to b curtailed but quality matters. The same applies to VMs, edits n all.

I was a 10th boards school topper who obtained a meager 91% in 12th boards. All thanks to IFing. I know this percentage may sound gud enough to many of u but I m disappointed bcoz sum of my besties who studied less than me are now actually ringing me up n are mocking me. Isn't it frustrating???

Thus, I plead u all to keep a check on ur activities or u may land up in great trouble. After all, all that glitters is certainly not gold.

Liked ur post for the kinda message it tries to convey...yes, cyber culture has cum to stay...it has becum a part of our life and IF is an addiction as I hav personally realized...i was never an internet person so much till IF happened to me thru D3...I am a working person & dun with my studies part so itz ok...

But I hav understood there r so many young peple on IF as young as 12 & 13 who r not only readers but write ffs, make VMs etc...after a while, it does get into ur system...u feel incomplete without it... when u miss it even for a day or two & this is an age where u luv exploring things, be it new emotions, fantasies et al... so its no wonder that for many such stuff get released thru their ffs & other writings too...I will not state here that all writers belong to same category & it is the discretion of the reader at teh end of the day

If u take it as a general perspective - this is all a part of growing up, of becuming mature...but it all depends how u prioritize ur life - ur education is teh stepping stone to ur future so pls never compromise on it - at the same time u need an outlet to release the pent up stress and mechanical trend of our modern lives - so sumthing that affects u emotionally and shakes ur sensibilities is welcum, it makes ur mind think abt things beyond random...

I hav to admit tho I never thought i culd relate and bond with people I hav no hope of ever seeing in my life and still let their joys and sorrows affect me sumwhere deep down - so thanx to this forum for that!!!!

Firstly, thank u for replying. See, I m not saying dat the forum is bad. We all live in a modern world surrounded by insecurities. I have made sum awesomest frnds on d forum but I m just saying dat we need to spare a minute and ponder over our deeds. Making it to d IITS was my dream since class 9. Sote, jagte, uthte, baithte, Main bas IIT ke baare mein sochti thi. I really curse the day wen I googled D3 n I came across dis forum. Had I been sincere enough, I wud have been living my dream today. I just want to say dat IFing is not bad but please don't compromise ur studies or jobs bcoz of it.
No doubt, its a great place, but, certainly not the best.

I completely agree with what you're saying, and know where you're coming from..
I've been on IF for about 4 years now, and the first two years, I was such an addict; I was ALWAYS on IF, and unfortunately, it did take a toll on my studies :/ So I know and completely understand what you're saying when you said that you were disappointed with your 12th score..Since then, I have tried to balance my studies along with IFing, but it has not been easy. Anyways, those that read this thread, please understand that there is a world beyond this cyber culture and no matter how addicted one is to IF, they should take the time out to be in the real world, talking to people face to face, instead of through a screen. We don't want to forget our real life for this internet life, as sometimes, it could really affect your relationships with people around you :/

Thanks for making this thread! (:

i completely agree with you...it's left to us whether we want to read the ff,s or os...nobody is being forced here to read all the ff,ss or os...
and yeah niki i agree with you that we should not get addicted to IF or even FB ...coz it definitely affects our studies...but again with self control i feel it is not a big problem...

Hey.. I can totally understand ur state ! To be frank im sailing on the same boat ! could easily relate to each n every line so first of all, thanks for such a post.

IF is such an addiction. I guess the more u try to stay away from it...the next day, the more u run after it. Though i completely agree with what one of u said that nobody is forcing u to read the ff's n os's . What i feel is once addicted always addicted. We become helpless. I am helpless. I'm doing my honours in mathematics, except to be here? NO! i dont, life outside is tough. These things give us happiness shortlived.. the problem is most of us cant balanced d3/swaron/kriyansh/IF and huge studies altogether. we should learn !

Nikita(sry if name is wrong)-i totally understand ur iit thing. Obsession is not good. for me n u out there loads f competition! but yet i say..if u can balance, none can be harming u. suggestions will be highly appreciated(going thru this prob.days back since d3 started )
