He is there because they need some normal household story besides the kidnapping. So he is randomly visiting his sister who doesnt even hang out with him much.

I wouldnt say there isnt any point to bringing him in the show, cause technically because of him arnav had a chance to say "i love you". If he had not over heard nani and khushi and if he had not decided to share with his sister then anjali wouldnt have had a panic attack and shyam would not have made those three losers have arnav call home! :D

hes barely ever shown in the episodes so I dont mind him as a side character...

I think they expected Khushi to make lot of Jalebis because of Arnav's absence..So they needed more people to eat them

so that his bland maala is used to reduce the heat generated by ARHI masala once Barun is back😊 (read there might be some dumb comedy scenes between ARHI romance)
