In his recent interview to a daily, he said, "Actors have the right to refuse. I suppose it gives them a sense of position. It is their prerogative and I suppose it gives you great copy. However, let me clarify that, yes some names were indeed suggested to us, but their dates did not work out. As an actor, I have myself refused many good films. It is because I didn't realise how good the film was till it released. That's why actors should read scripts before rejecting films." It is undoubtedly a sarcastic comment meant against we know who! We are sure the comment must have not gone down well with them, but should they pay heed to what he said?
This is not the first time that Kamal has reacted in such an intense way. He made headlines when he said he didn't need Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan to sell his films. He was quoted as saying, "However, there is a role in Amar Hai that suits Saif, but we haven't approached him yet. We will do so soon." Kamal Haasan had a harrowing time, when almost all Bollywood A-listers backed out of "Vishwaroopam". Besides SRK, who decided to not do Kamal's remake of the South superhit "Vettayadu Villayadu", there was news that Salman wouldn't do the remake of Armour of God.
Kamal, we can understand the problems you are facing, but will such extreme reaction help you? It might only help you draw ire from other actors in the industry. Don't make them grow wary of you!
