Arnav made an angry face.
"It's under the list!" reminded Khushi.
"WHAT LIST?" Arnav knew which list, but still asked just to make sure!
"Arey! Come on Arnavji!! "Khushi Wish list" - remember, you and I made it together that day?" said Khushi, grinning!
"Damn it!" said Arnav as he rolled his eyes.
"Arey yaar, chalo!" said Arnav disgusted.
Khushi hugged him, like a child, and said, "Thank you Laad Gov...Yeh, Laad Governor!"š
They both walked down the road of Delhi. Two souls, hads in hands, were walking down the dark road, which was covered by orange street lights. Cool breeze was touching them. Somewhere far, they could hear traffic noise. The tall trees on the edge of the road gave them extra cold wind. Khushi's light purple dupatta was flying in the air. Arnav's silky hair strings, which always hung on his forehead were flying in the soft breeze. It felt so good. They were breathing freedom, freshness, fragrance, and a few steps of the new beginning. The sky had tiny diamonds in them, and moon looked beautiful. It was a full moon.
"It feels so good Arnavji." said Khushi as she breath in air, more like, smelling it and taking it inside her body, to purify her body, more, even more, even more than she already is.
"I am sorry Khushi." said Arnav making Khushi look at him all of a sudden as they were walking.
As soon as Khushi looked at him, he looked at her, feeling extremely guilty. Khushi could see pain on his face, pain of how he married her forcefully, pain of how he distrust her, pain of how he hurt her, pain of...pain of just doing all these to her, that her, who has always loved him...!! Khushi could see those wiggly eyebrows, under which his twinkly eyes were sitting, staring into Khushi's eyes.
"I am sorry for what I did to you Khushi." said Arnav, looking straight into Khushi's eyes.
They both are still walking.
"Shh! It's okay Arnavji. How many times are you going to keep saying sorry to me?" said Khushi.
"Until, I am satisfied." said Arnav firmly, looking straight into her eyes.
Khushi smiled at him, held onto his hand very tight.
"Calm down Arnavji. I am okay now." said Khushi.
They both are still walking, passing by each and every old and new trees beside them, on the edge of the roads, now a few vehicles passing by them.
"No. No you are not okay Khushi. And...and I can..."said Arnav.
"Nahi Arnavji. Please do not speak anything further. Please come out of that nightmare, we have started our new life. Let us enjoy this now. Forget the past." Interrupted Khushi and said this firmly, looking straight into Arnav's eyes, comforting him, mostly ordering him to stop apologizing, strongly making it straight to him that everything is fine now.
Arnav agreed to it and they both kept walking.
A few minutes later, they bumped into a "gola wala".
Khushi jumped and said grinning, "Arnavji, hume gola khana hai"
"Khushi...Khushi its not good for your health. Gala kharab ho jaayega." said carying Arnav.
"Kuch nahi hota Arnavji. Come on, please, I wanna eat it." said Khushi.
"Khushi! I can't see you pleading to me! You want to eat it right? Let's go eat it!" said Arnav, a bit angry at Khushi saying please to him.
The gola wala gave Khushi a red gola, she ate it all grinning. The gola wala gave one to Arnav as well, a black one. (Kala khatta!š)
"No. I don't want it." said The Great Arnav Singh Raizada.
"Arnavji! Take it please! Come on, you have to!" said Khushi ordering him.
Arnav took it, starred at him for a few secs, starred at Khushi.
"Why is it black? And yours red? And how do I eat it? It looks sooo difficult! How do I fit it in my mouth?" asked Arnav innocently.
"Arnavji, this is kala khatta. Mine is strawberry. Look, eat it like this" said Khushi grinning very big, and then gave a demo to Arnav.
"Kala khatta? What the..." said Arnav and copied Khushi's way of eating it.
"Umm...it's actually good." said Arnav.
"Oh nahi nahi nahi. ARNAVJI!! DON'T EAT IT!! DROP IT! DROP IT! DROP IT!" Khushi YELLED, and snatched it from his hand and put it down.
"Why not? WHY NOT? I like it. It's very sweet." said Arnav , confused.
"Arnavji, you have diabetes. You can't eat sweet things. This has a lot of sugar in it." said concerned Khushi.
"Kuch nahi hota Khushi. I wanna eat it." said Arnav.
"Nahi Arnavji, let's go from here." said Khushi, took Arnav's hand, and pulled him away from the gola wala, and they both continued their walk.
* * *
They both kept walking. Those cool breeze were still skimming through their silky hair. Khushi's hair and dupatta were flying in the air. Arnav's few hair strings were still flying.
"Arnavji, (she touched those few strings on his foreheadš) I like these hair straps of yours." said Khushi, grinning.
Arnav smiled at her, very big..."she looks sooo innocent when she praises me" thought Arnav..."specially for little things like this."
They were still walking. All of a sudden, they see a baarat passing by there. A song was playing. "Tere mast mast do nain...mere dil ka le gaye chain...mere dil ka le gaye chain...tere mast mast do nain..." (Sorry I don't know which songs they play in baarat these days, so I just sticked to S.Khan! š³š)
"Arey...I love this song." said Khushi, clapping her hands, grinnning and started dancing, on the side of the road.
"What the...Khu...Khushi, stop. Khushi, bandh karo. Kisi aur ki shaadi main aise nahi nachate." said Arnav, a bit emberrassed.
Khushi took his hand by his manly wrist, and made him move his hands a bit as well.
"WHAT THE...Khushi...Khushi, stop. Khushi, nahi. Yeh Preetika ki shaadi nahi hai. STOP!" said Arnav.
Khushi left his hand, and just danced by herself, all lost in her dance. Arnav mesmerized her for a few seconds, looked at her hair jumping with her, her eyes closed, sometimes open, winking at him, making him blush, her milky hands moving here and there, her smile always on her face while dancing, and right now, that smile, which was formed by her lips, were looking sooo red, red due to that 'gola' a few mintues, red just like 'gulaab ki pattiyaan'. Arnav kept smiling at her while she was dancing, not worrying about the world, not worrying about the fact that he, the ASR's wife is dancing like this on the road in public, not at all emberrassed!
The baarat passed by and the song faded away.
"Ho gaya?" asked Arnav.
"Jee! Ho gaya." said Khushi clapping her hands and grinned very big. "Bahot fun aaya." said Khushi. (Sorry, a bit out of character - heheš, I WANTED to add this Barun's line in it, I coulden't make Arnav say it, so I made Khushi say it!š)
"Khushi, what has happened to your hindi?" asked Arnav.
"Jee? Kya?" asked Khushi, grinning, walking forward, almost skipping like a girl.
"What jee? Bahot FUN aaya?" asked Arnav, lost.
"Jee." said Khushi, still lost in the song, singing by herself.
"Nevermind!" said Arnav, grabbed her hand again, very gently and carefully, not to hurt her a single bit now!!
They both continued walking. The cool breeze still skimming through their hair. They both are fresh now. It feels like they have been purified by nature's touch in form of wind. They both are walking, hands in hands. Khushi's dupatta is still flying.
"Khushi, apna dupatta sambhalo." said Arnav as he saw her dupatta just about to get stuck into a tree.
"Jee." said Khushi, smiling at him, thanking God for giving her someone like Arnavji, who takes care of her sooo much, more than she does of him.
Arnav also smiled at her, thanking God for giving him someone like his Khushi, paagal Khushi, who takes care of him more than he does of her, who loves him dearly, he, who is such a devil, that it was almost impossible to be loved, "but...Here we are, holding hands, like never letting them go." thought Arnav as both smiled at each other.
