I guess you have are not a regular viewer of DEK that's why you have missed out/ignored what has happened in the serial.
First of all, if you would have regular viewer of DEK, you would have analysed and understood UV very well. It was Manyata who was rude and disrespectful to each and every person especially to UV since day one. For past six months, it was M who was rude with her high handed behavior (as you referred in your post) to UV and to her family members. She didnot care about her family's reputation and tarnished their reputation and image badly. She even got UV arrested without giving him any chance to explain his side. UV was her support, guide, friend at every minute and she used him for her own purpose. Still when she proposed to him, he forgot everything and was normal to her but he came too know that again she was using him to buy back her own home. Any person would have limits and certainly she had crossed all limits. If you are looking at his high handed behavior then do consider all the patience, support, love and care he had showered on her - without getting anything in return. Yes, we girls are besotted by UV but its not only on looks. It is his complete character which is his looks, his nature and his behavior. He is a good son, respects his elders, protects and cares for his loved ones, is respectful to everyone, is a guide and mentor and always gives and never once expects anything from anyone. Yes, he has flaws but he doesnot hide them. He is a flawed hero - perfect yet imperfect. He is not two faced like Aryan who is nice to his friend and girl friend but rude and arrogant to anyone who is below him. No, you are not wrong that a girl should be treated with respect but you are only looking at his reaction and not the action which triggered that reaction.
Even a parent showers love and support to child, fulfills all needs and look after the child, but if the child is not behaving as he/she should, it is the same parent who will scold the child so that child behaves properly. So, maybe parents should also ignore antics of child because they love the child and should not scold him or be rude to him. 😲
Well, if being treated as a doormat by a girl and then also not showing backbone and still being trampled over by a girl is fine with the guys, then I guess we girls can rejoice. 😉 That they can hurt and humiliate the one person who loves her the most, even get him arrested, shower all kind of abuses on him and then also the guy will behave in the same manner and not retialiate.
Reg his family - infact it was Jaigarh who had been with Devgarh all the time. Not even once I have seen Devgarh family doing anything for Jaigarh family. When Manyata was doing Akaash jaap and did a strike against her own family and got DS arrested, it was obvious that she is not going to marry UV. Then only GR got that contract in place of giving his support to Mahasabha. He knew that Manyata is not going to marry UV. And since then, they are helping BR in his debts, even bought the house so that Devgarh family wont be homeless. If they are doing so much investment, wont they want anything in return?? Nothing is free in this world. I m not saying that what GR did was right, he certainly made use of the opportunity but it all started when Manyata showed her true colors. So again.. reaction to M's action.
I didnot mean to offend you or your viewpoint but just an attempt from my side to explain to you the reason why we love this character. Also, if you notice, that none of these besotted girls liked when UV sat in DS's chair in yesterday's episode. If we had been besotted (as you mentioned) then we would have even ignored that part.
