Emotional Blackmail Needs to Stop

time for a serious discussion. when gyatri threatned to leave the house if yash went, i was so mad.it may be fun in a drama. but it is so reminiscent of real life situations where in laws or parents blackmail their children into doing stuff. such as saying if u don't go through with this arranged marriage, I will kill myself. this is no less than extortion and i feel that such parents need to have their children leave their lives. it is so cruel to stop a person's wants bc u disagree and to declare such serious consequences as a result of a persons wants is almsot like betrayel. there is a loss of trust between parents and children, especially when this happens. it is cruel and the child feels like they are betrayed bc they are being extorted. we may do it intentionally or unintentionally but it needs to stop especially in desi society. to put your own child in a position bt them and their wife/husband is unforgivable. its one thing to say i will die if u do this (being dramatic) and i will kill myself if u do this ( being intentionally cruel). this is a type of threat and should be taen as such and if it wasnt for the slippery slope effect, then criminilized
