The next night was more cold than otherwise granting everyone to stay indoors except for the man who was driving along the isolated streets flanked by tall wild trees on both sides.The sky covered itself with sheets of clouds but still there were no signs of rain.The moon was a bit larger than otherwise & it looked partially hidden by the extented branches of the trees from the spot were the man stood with his car parked waiting for his informer.
The place was scary enough for even the wind to blow past as quickly as possible. The rustling of the leaves was followed by the hooting of an owl & the cry of an animal. It sounded sinster...The roads were rough with a few potholes here & there. The area was almost equivalent to a ghostly habitat provided one does believe in horror.The air seemed thick & dead by then.
Maan paced a little bit to & from waiting for Birju,his informer to appear.They always met in such places to exchange information since the past six months...about Dev. But now it was not at all necessary since Maan would be anyways getting the business reins officially in his hands but still he ceased to take any chance...
Suddenly he felt a cold hand on his shoulder.Maan was so much engeged in his thoughts that he was very much alarmed.He turned around to see Birju. They both sat in Maan's car with Maan's hands clutching the steering wheel.
"What do you have to say in your defence Birju?How did the ex-senior inspector Gupta land in the custody of Mumbai police where only you knew about his whereabouts.??" asked Maan in a gruff voice scaring the other man.
"I-I d-don't know how..the p-police came to know about me..Whatever I do,I do it very slyly so that no one comes to know about me...but still...Sir, they threatened me at gun-point so that I reveal the address of that inspector..."
"First we thought that Gupta was dead, then we found that he was alive..you were supposed to bring him to me!!!!!Damn it!!!but no!!the police is interrogating him now!!If he blurts about me then what!!!!" Maan was hell angry.
"H-He w-won't say anything against you..." said Birju trying to assure Maan..
"When did all this happen?Why didn't you inform me before."
"They caught hold of Gupta about ten days back...I tried to call you that day, but your phone was either switched off or you were not picking it up..."
Hearing that something dawned on Maan, "Is he talking of the day when Geet had an accident?..."
Birju continued, "...I was apprehensive about speaking to you after that fearing that the police were still keeping a tab on me...so I managed to somehow meet you here..."
"Leave it now! Since Gupta is with the Mumbai police,we can't do anything...I need to think of defence..but the grave point is how did anyone come to know about you...except for me..."
"Don't know Sir,don't know..."
"Anyways,any info about where is Dev?"
"Dev is in Canada as of now but he is coming to India tomorrow probably he will go down South.."
"South India??Where?"
"I will get to know about that tomorrow...I will tell you then."
"Done!"
"Sir, but i don't understand your family is flying down to Delhi in a week & Dev-Rhea will also be there...so you will anyways meet Dev.."
"Do what is told to you!!Get hold of Dev!!!I need to deal with him soon!" Maan said fiercely.
Suddenly they could here the sound of a police van approacing at a distance.Birju panicked.
"S-Sir this is a no-entry area.We need to get out of here before they see us.I anyways want to maintain safe distance from the police.."
Maan immediately drove the car out of that location.Biju then disappeared in thin air in one of the lanes which went out of the city while Maan drove back home..

Geet had been awake almost the entire night to finish her syllabus,the exams being fifteen days away.She had almost finished her curriculum,all thanks to Maan.That definitely brought a smile on her face. When Maan came to her house the next morning,he was told that she was asleep.He was allowed to go into her room.Maan glanced at the corridoor from Geet's room,seeing no one there,he locked the door...
Geet looked like a sleeping beauty on her bed.Maan proceeded towards her & sat besides her,caressing her.He felt like he was meeting his life after a dead night. He felt himself lucky enough to see such a beautiful dream early in the morning.Geet was his most precious treasure that he could ever have.He slowly planted a kiss on her forehead.But suddenly he grew pale.
"If Geet comes to know about the Will & various other things,then how will she react?Should I tell her the truth??No I can't!! She will be..she will be broken to pieces & I can't bear to see her in pain.She will hate me..she will leave me...I can't live without her...never!Geet,if you leave me & go away,i will fail to bear it...How to tell you our future is uncertain..kab kya ho jaye...no one knows"
Maan shivered. Maan, in his life,didn't fear anyone nor circumstances.He always planned his acts fiendisly & succeeded in everything but he was scared that Geet would leave him...& his life will again turn dark.
Just then he saw that Geet had opened her eyes.She looked at him,innocently,smiling shyly.She got up & hugged him tightly.
"Maan.."she said cuddling in his arms,"Why didn't you wake me up?I would have seen you some more minutes ago!"
For a moment Maan was relieved from his anxiety.He held her securely in his arms & said, "You look less shy while sleeping!" he said with a smirk.
"Shut up Maan!" she gave him a playful punch
But Geet could feel something was wrong with Maan that morning like something was worrying him...They broke the hug & Geet looked at him carefully.
"Maan,what's going on?Tell me the truth!"
Maan was petrified hearing her "W-What are you saying?"
"You are worried about something,I have been noticing it from the past few days.Tell me,what ails you!"
"N-Not at all Geet!" said Maan trying to be casual
Geet inched closer to him & held his hand "Maan,I don't know what is it!But I do know one thing that whatever happens,I will always & always be with you,whatever may be the circumstances,I will never ever leave your side!"
Her eyes depicted enough maturity.She said it with full conviction in her voice which made Maan sure that he won't be left alone.Though she was quite childish but Maan truly felt that she meant each & every word which she had said
"Promise me,you are there with me for the rest of my life."
She nodded "Yep!All your problems are mine!I am your Lady Bodyguard!" she winked
"Lady Bodyguard???That sounds classy!!" He pulled her closer lowering his lips to touch hers.She again blushed.She had a tickling feeling in her.When his lips had just rested on hers,she moved away leaving Maan confused.
"Geet!What is this?"
"Not now!Later"
"Really?" he smiled impishly
She changed the topic."Let's go out for break-fast. what say?"
"No Geet,I have little work in office..."
"Oh come on!it's just a matter of half an hour aur waise bhi I have slept for four hours only" she yawned,"I will come home & sleep later."
So that was decided.But still Maan was cautious as Birju's call was to come telling him about Dev,so he had to be careful.But when they were driving to the restaurant,he forgot about the call.Maan tried to kiss her again in the car but she avoided that too.
The restaurant was quite a posh one.No doubt,the owner of the restaurant had good relations with Maan so they were given a special breakfast hall only for the two of them
"Maan! breakfast ke liye such a special hall!Was it needed?" Geet was doubtful.
"That's because you did not give me what I wanted" he advanced towards her with an impish glee.Geet clearly knew what his intentions were.
"Maan...someone will come inside." she said trying to hide her blushed face.
"No one will come unless I tell them to!"
He pulled her closer.She tilted her head shyly, their noses touched.She gave a small giggle.He cupped her face between his hands to keep her still.He touched her lips briefly.His fingers explored her silky hair while she placed her hands on his shoulder,pulling herself towards him.Then they kissed,caressing each others lips,feeling every bit of it..there was no hurry...Maan gave her the control of the moment. It was her decision when she wanted to end the kiss.He wanted to feel her touch...Geet pressed her hand on his shoulder & continued to kiss him...she was getting good at it with every passing day...
Just then Maan's phone buzzed.They had to stop.Maan's face changed.
"Geet,you order food I will be back in a moment!"
Geet nodded.Maan went outside.
"Birju...you came to know?Where is he heading?...Pondicherry???Okay fine!" he rang off , "But why is he suddenly heading to Pondicherry?"
When he returned he saw Geet waiting for him with the food served.
Geet could see that he was again in a serious mode.
"Now I have to go to Pondicherry but how to tell Geet?If she asks why...but I have to deal with Dev at any cost!!!"
