Chapter 2

Much later they both lay in each other's arms on the bed, not believing that all this happiness was theirs. They had barely spoken, choosing to express their joy through actions, which did nothing but add to their pleasure. Facing each other, Khushi couldn't stop herself from asking Arnav, "how did you know?", curious to know how he had realised, when she hadn't told anyone yet, neither had she visited a doctor who may have told him the good news.

"Woh Khushi, remember when you fainted? 1 week ago? At her nod, he continued, the doctor had done some tests and she said you were pregnant. You were still unconscious so I told her not to tell anyone the news because I wanted you to be the first one to know. Then I remembered that our wedding anniversary was coming up so", he said, scratching the back of his neck, a hint of a smile lit on his face.

"And how did you come to know that you're pregnant? I made the doctor give you medicines that's supposed to stop morning sickness, and you haven't vomited all these days. Nor did you go to the doctor. Then how?"

"Well Mr Raizada, the tablets may have stopped my morning sickness but you forgot that every pregnant woman goes through cravings and mood swings too. I wasn't sure so I didn't tell you at first. I did the pregnancy test 2 days ago and it came positive. I was so excited, I was about to tell you, then I thought that I'd give you a surprise today but", she said, scrunching her nose because of a lack of surprise, making him smile at her childishness and kiss her nose.

"Still the smart woman, I see."

"Always.", she said, with a proud smile. He smiled back. She was every bit Mrs ASR, he thought, as they went into a comfortable silence.

"Khushi, thank you", he started after a while

"Kisliye Arnav?"

"For everything Khushi. For forgiving me. For loving me. For giving me the happiness I know I don't - "

"Laad governor", he heard her mumble, as she turned around in a huff, making him stop.

"What the ' Khushi. Laad Governor?" Out of all the things she could have said, this was the last thing he expected. But then, when had Khushi done something he expected?

She turned around, pointed a finger, looking at him with accusing eyes. "Don't you what the 'me. How many times have I told you to stop talking about the past. But as always, you won't listen to me will you, laad governor kahike. I hate you. "

"Is that so, hmm, in that case I love you too", he said with a smirk "Sanka Devi", he added after a pause, leaving Khushi gaping at him, as he let out a little chuckle while pulling her so close to him, that they could hear their heartbeats becoming one all over again.

"I love you, Arnav."

And just like that they slept in each other's arms, feeling happier than ever before.

I know it's very short, but I have my boards going on so there's only so much I can write. Next update will be longer, I promise, although it will not be up before Tuesday at the very least.
