It was only natural for lord siva to break into tandav after he had lifted the body of sati but he goes so intense like in some sort of trance lord vishnu has to help him come out it.

The main purpose for lord vishnu to destroy sati mata's body was to get lord siva out of the attachment mode and that alone was the purpose to help lord siva and lord comes out of it.

upto this storyline is true to me.

To me all events are a shiv leela and its hard to understand and some beyond me eevn tho shivji is simple but they are a guide to us.
