In the daily discussion thread I raised a point on who is serious about the goal of "Winning ASA"...

And this is what my dear friend Lizzie wrote with which I agree 100%... And I realized that this itself is a good topic for discussion. so putting it here...

Out of the key participants, Meenakshi, Akshat, Angad and Karishma who are more focused and clear on their goal or reason for being in the Academy?

Please share your thoughts...

This is what Lizzie wrote:

Angad was laid-back.. But now with the win he might change his attitude.

Sameer wanted badly to be there, but was ousted.

Akshat fiercely wanted to win since he was the "best", but now he doesn't seem to care..he's more worried about his morals and being "good" and making moony eyes at Meenu.

Meenu of course is the resident do-gooder and her only focus has been Sameer so far. Jai ho Meenu mata ki! Sheesh! With Sameer on the road to recovery, she should get down to business now.

Karishma seems to want to win, but her desire to put down Meenu and everyone associated with her seems to take precedence over winning even... She seems to focus on being nasty to Meenu and getting people to go against her, rather than on her dancing moves.

She probably knows that her only serious competitor would be Meenu, since DC so obviously favours her. So in putting her down or getting her to goof up, she has a better chance at the crown.

I would say Angad, just a pin from Karishma he went shooting like a plane in Karishma's words. If Angad holds focus like he told his brother he has chances of winning like the dance teacher told once. I root for Angad . Angad has sympathy for Sameer but he never gave more importance to other things other than dance and his practise a very mature individual a great brother and a potential candidate for winning ASA crown after winning dancing jodi. Hope he realises he can't live for his brother always and stops baby sitting.
Karishma is a genius in understanding fellow contestants. I like Karishma too if she cuts her bad girl image and concentrates on her dance she is a potential too.

Good point Rekha...

I am disappointed with Meenakshi... Basically from the plot and promos they projected Meenakshi as some one who has a dream and wants to reach Aasman Se Aage...

But from the day, she got into the Academy, she is not at all focused. Initial taunts etc... and she suddenly came to a different environment so I thought she is adjusting...

But she is like a Gopi Vahu... Compassion, doing and being good, always behaving like Mahan Atma etc... are priority to her than her goal of becoming a Dancing Star.

Along with these qualities now she is adding up love also to her Todo list... Looks like Dance and winning ASA are last on her list.

We can very well predict that Akshat and Meenakshi will go to finals and compete with each other and meenu Darling will win.. But at this point of time, Meenakshi is least focused on her goal...

Till the time he got Meenakshi as his partner, Akshat at least showed some interest and focus and was constantly on back of Sameer that he is not doing well.

But now, even Akshat started giving priority to other things... This is not the way normally the participants of a reality show will be...

Angad's biggest Achilles heel would be his love and protectiveness for his brother..one word from Akshat will have him sacrificing everything, I feel.

Akshat's Achilles heel seems to be Meenu right now and his guilt at the way he treated Sameer. But Sameer is ok now, so that probably won't bother him anymore. But is it possible for both bros to do a complete volte face on their characters so far... Angad turning from goody-goody to fiercely ambitious and Akshat turning from greedy to sacrificing lover boy?? Will the CVs take that route? It will be difficult to believe if they do.

Meenu's Achilles heel is obviously her background and her handicap because of it. Here DC and Alan and perhaps even Akshat now can help boost her confidence.

And Karishma's Achilles heel is her meanness..but then we all know ..that nice guys finish last! So maybe this will turn out to be her strength after all!

All these comparisons make sense only if we assume that they are all on equal footing as far as talent is concerned. But they are not. Then again, favouritism will also play a role. We have all seen how in reality shows, the really talented people get sidelined in favour of the glamorous and good looking and more street smart and savvy ones!

Thanks for posting this Bhanu.

Actually will be interesting to see how each contestant markets himself/ herself to the audience! Like the honest, sincere dedication to Sameer that Akshat made. It was not a manipulated trick, but it could get him sympathy votes. And once they realise this, they may actually begin the manipulation. Karishma will have no qualms doing this, but will the good guys, the AA Bros and miss Goody two shoes, Meenu also succumb? Big Question!

I forgot one point which you mentioned. Assuming their dancing skills are on par... I know it is very easy for CVs to lift Meenakshi quoting she is best among others...

But when they come to a level after auditions etc.,, they are more or less on close grounds... This I am assuming becasue when we see a reality show most of the times, the top 3 or 4 are so close in their marks...

So here hard work and practice only can take them to perfection. Meenakshi is from a raw background where she never had any teacher or training so far... Unless she works hard and be focused, its very tough for her...

Yes... gaining votes ... Very important point. Akshat has made a good appeal...

Initially DC was telling Meenakshi's background and her crying will gain sympathy for her to win the show...

But after the Kiss episode, viewers may swing away from her...

Nice discussion ladies.
I find Angad also lambhi race ka ghoda..We are exactly thinking like what DC wants to think from the audience...I mean the majority who see him as the cadidiate for going through the gala rounds and being on the non red zone, Not that he wins the title each time but he is consistant and he is always out of danger...

He is focused contender, he knows the intension of others he knows how impulsive his brother is, His master told him that he is a better dancer, and his quest is limited, But the inner strenght he has or even his X factor is what I feel can bring him up provided the mind remains focused...

Karishma is again a strong contender, DC knows very well Maybe DC also knows she is a jantha's chamak challo since she has taken an eye ball catcher from two sittings, ( Todays episode he says about the audience reaction so I assume he turned teh awards table in their ( HOT jodi angKarsh)'s favor looking at that...

BUT yes the bad witch inside her is always on teh run ,,, to get that out a soulful guy like Angad has to be pricking her time to time with getting the emotional baggage out from her inner side..
She is rooted with her Kuch Bhi tag lacks X factor but the human inside can on challenge that to bring it out IF she wants it..

We all have the good qualities in us God has made us the same but we mold ourselves to situations and push them to the rear..So Karishma again being that sort of person is a HARD call contender till a time, Her Rivialry with Meenakshi may stir up a lot BUT if her good girl image hits her then no stopping her,...

Meenakshi and AKshat I seem them still in their land will not comment untill I see a wake up call hitting atleast for meenakshi...

Actually I don't think any of them at the moment who are suppose to be Top 4 contestant atleast what I think Akshat,Meenakshi,Angad,Karishma has any serious goal in their mind..Yeah I know they are in a dance show,all wants to win bla..bla.. but is their anyone who actually doing what can make them win?

Akshat-He was the only person who actually had the winning thing on mind,He came here to dance & win..no matter what..but look @ the poor thing !What M did to him.Her one super taunt & that hurted him hard.Obviously he is a good human being but being impulsive he did some mistakes & seeing the consequence in-front of his eyes,he just lost the track,2nd thing,M's super-nice-ness getting into his head & well.. heart as well,3rd,that karishma,who never let a chance go to hurt one's weak point.

Angad- ^ that's what she did to him as well.She knew she couldn't hurt his love for his bro,so she twisted her words so well which hurted his male ego/self-respect,alongside in near future we may see this is affecting the love he has for his brother..The one who seems to be his brother's soul keeper,might heart his soul himself by taking away the words he said to his bro just to clam him down once.
He definitely didn't come to ASA to win,for me he was only one who had the correct approach towards that Sammeer fiasco still no intention to win,did anyone heard about it from him? NO. He practiced but for him the brother's winning & his is just the same (How sweet)he has a pure heart which ppl like karishma can easily manipulate & he'd easily fall in such trap,while Akshat is too like him but just a lil aware of the nature of ppl like Karishma.What Angad did yesterday it was pure outcome of his hurted self-respect not the result of his clear goal.

Karishma-More than winning ASA she is interested putting others behind/down,taunt M & make the boys go all gaga over her,if not (Akshat) then manipulate his bro against him.

Meenakshi-The less I say is better..The show is about reality show's reality..True coz She's one who's priorities are everything but dance.,Except for the 1st epi I didn't see her passion for dance,It's all now for her family,not for her passion.& She's not a train dancer so she better do much practice but NO,Sameer k peeche bhaghna hai..

I sympathize with Sameer but I think the drama they created & M getting involved into it so much,it was bit too much to digest for me ..

Why I think DC might bring Sameer back as WC entry..Reality show,it's afterall😕
