CHAPTER 7
DELUSIONAL
Khushi woke up and found herself lying on a king size bed, draped with a plain white duvet set. The place looked quite familiar; though she was sure she was here for the first time. Dim sunlight was filtering in through the sliding glass windows covering one side of the room. She rubbed her eyes, like a small child waking up from a good night sleep, before opening them completely and found his face just inches away from her. She smiled lazily at him. He looked so tempting even in such early hours of morning, a feast to her eyes. He smiled back at her, as he rested his head on his palm and adjusted his weight on his elbow, leaning over her. He was wearing a dark grey casual shirt, absolutely complimenting his rugged, yet enthralling features.
The sun had risen by now, as she raised her hands towards his dauntless features and rested her fingers lightly over his temple, tracing them over to his cheeks and stopping only at his jaw, making a low growl escape his throat. Khushi let out a satisfactory giggle. A smirk played across the corners of his lips, watching her enjoy the sensational effect she had on him. She continued imprinting her touch, until she reached the collar bone, and then gazed into his chocolate brown eyes, eyes that held that held a raw passion to make her stop in her tracks. As his hypnotizing glance caught her, she knew she had been withheld with him in the current time frame. His magical charm had made her as stiff as a statue and she continued staring in those eyes.
He raised his hand to put the strand of hair which had fallen on her forehead, back behind her ears where they belonged, his touch making butterflies appear in her stomach. He then bent down further, moving his lips along her jaw line and travelling down to the hollow of her neck, teasing her skin by barely not touching it; his warm breath leaving a tingling sensation behind. He didn't miss out the creased lines forming on her forehead and he chuckled involuntarily. He knew she was craving for his touch, the touch of his rough lips on her delicate skin and experience the unfathomable delight. She raised herself further on the pillow, but it only made him move back and smile slyly.
She turned away her head, facing away from him, leaving an evidence of annoyance behind. He was thoroughly enjoying it, but knew it won't be long before his self resolve will also break down. He raised his arms and caressed her cheeks with the back of his fingers, making her turn towards him. He smiled at her apologetically before lowering down to claim her lips, but he was too late, she thought, because at that exact moment, someone had decided to splash cold water on her face, making her open her eyes to the realities of life.

"What is wrong Anjali?" Khushi said before pulling the pillow from underneath her head shielding herself with it.
"Get up. I know its weekend, but mom is calling us downstairs for breakfast," Anjali said, "and I had to this after trying to wake you up for the past five minutes."
Khushi wanted to throw something at Anjali for destroying her dream, but she knew it wasn't her fault. She threw the pillow away and sat upright on bed, going over the contents of the dream and couldn't help but smile.
"What are you smiling about?" Anjali snapped her fingers, brining Khushi back to reality.
"Nothing," Khushi lied. She didn't know why, but she didn't feel like sharing this dream with her, not because she was afraid of what her friend might think about her but rather because she knew this dream couldn't be shared with anyone because of obvious reasons; the person in her dream. She knew him very well. Her mind wandered if he could ever turn out to be this mesmerizing, but quickly pulled herself out of those thoughts. She couldn't think about him in that way. He was just their friend, but lately she knew she had been thinking a lot about him, whether it was in terms of doubting him or admiring him. She had always wondered how he would look like without glasses and got her answer through her dreams.
Khushi sighed in disbelief, as she got up from the bed and walked towards the washroom. Anjali had left downstairs to help her mother with breakfast. The thing that was making her nervous was the fact that she was becoming less and less concerned about the contents of the dream and kept going over it again and again, enjoying every bit of it. She knew there was something wrong with her and she had to review herself. Glancing at herself in the mirror in the washroom, she could see that her face looked pale. She quickly brushed her teeth and went down for breakfast to divert her mind from useless thoughts.

Khushi and Anjali were now almost ready to leave for the party. Khushi had been feeling relatively low because of the disturbing thoughts that kept flying into her mind, making it impossible for to have a straight train of thoughts. She even agreed to the navy blue dress that Anjali had selected for her, navy blue being her least favorite color.
Anjali was wearing a light pink color dress. Both the girls were looking extremely beautiful even without too much of makeup and their hair let loose. Khushi bid adieu to Anjali's parents, they both left the house, thinking that maybe the change of environment will help her avert her mind.
The Fresher's Bash, as usual was being held in the Main Hall of the university. As Anjali drove on the empty roads of Scotland, Khushi started remembering the first time she had gone to the Fresher's Bash. She had been apprehensive about it, but like always, Anjali had talked her out of it. Parties had never been her piece of cake. She had always agreed to go because of Anjali only; she knew Anjali always enjoyed them. Khushi usually preferred quieter places, such as going to museums or seminars.
They arrived in the parking lot, which was now almost full of cars because of the current occasion. After looking for five minutes for an empty spot, they finally found a one two blocks away from the main entrance. When they finally reached the hall, Khushi noticed that it was decorated with disco lights, hanging on the ceiling. At one end of the hall was the food area, while just next to it lay the drinks counter. Most of the students were on the dance floor, some dancing alone while others with their partners.
Anjali went off for the dance floor, after entering the hall and after failing to force Khushi towards it too, she went to dance alone. Khushi went and sat down on one of the chairs on the drink's counter. After sitting there for about thirty minutes, her eyes fell on NK. He was as usual, with Paul, James and Noarah; all three of them belonged to the same plush families as his. One member of their gang was missing. Khushi wandered where she was. Nk started walking towards her, and knew that he had spotted her too. Khushi started to fidget on her chair.
Before Nk could reach her, she quickly got up and walked out of the hall. She knew that NK had always been looking for a way to pick on her, but she didn't want to spoil her mood today and thought it better to leave. As soon as Khushi stepped her foot out the door, a rush of cold air send a chill running down her spine. It had suddenly started being cold, and with her bare arms and her dress just a few inches below her knees, she felt them go numb. She cursed herself for forgetting to get a shawl along with her. She walked over the next building to find and empty classroom sit in for some time, then she could go back, collect Anjali and leave for home. She passed along the corridor, checking for an open classroom but most of them were locked. She finally got lucky and found a room whose door was partly open, but the lights were turned off. Khushi placed her hands on the door knob to further open the door, in return making the fluorescent bulbs, lighting the corridor, illuminate the face of a girl sitting on the table. She was engaged in the most passionate lip-lock with a boy whose face Khushi couldn't see because his back was facing her. After staring at them for a much longer moment than required, she realized who the girl was. She had finally found the last member of NK's gang.
Lavnya Kashyap was sitting on a desk with her arms wrapped around her lover's neck and his hands were on her hips, both holding on to each other tightly, securing their positions and snuggling in closer to each other. They both were so engrossed in their private moment that Khushi went oblivious to their attention.
"Please….," she said gasping for air, but her words drowned again, as he claimed his lips again.
What was Lavnya doing here with someone else, when her boyfriend was inside? She thought that it was none of her business to know that and decided to leave the place. Nontheless she always preferred to keep her distance from NK and his gang. She slowly took her hands off the door knob and making as little noise as possible; she tip toed towards the end of the corridor and sat down on the stairs, in the open air, appreciating the comfortable interiors of the hall.
Khushi sat there watching the stars, glistening in the dark night. She wrapped her hands tighter around herself, as she shifted her attention to the half moon which kept playing hide and seek between the grey clouds, giving a mystical touch to the night. She was brought back to her senses by the sound of heels on the porcelain floor. She quickly got up, afraid that it might be NK looking out for her. Lately he kept following her everywhere, but thankfully it was someone else.
"Arnav, what are you doing here? I though you where not going to come, but why are you coming from that way?"
Suddenly it dawned on her the direction from which Arnav was coming.

Arnav stopped dead in his tracks as soon as he heard her voice. Why did she always have to be at the wrong place at the wrong time?
So how was the chapter? It took a lot of time for me to write this out. Really hope so that it was worth reading.
