Thursday morning and here I am once again reaching out to you my beauties, A very good morning to you all and its another mild and beautiful day here.

So much and yet so little in the land of IPK, what with BS taking time off for his movie shoots, the arrival of yet another relative of Mamiji, Laksmi playing a much bigger role even if its only to knock over items, thereby further helping Toad in deploying his underhand acts.Lets not forget the man who is now the proud owner of ASR's phone. Time fillers? Or key to what the future of IPK holds for us? Your guess is as good as mine.

BS's abscense is acutely felt by many. Following his brief time on Noreen Khan's BBC Asian Network programme, talking about his film and confirming his definite return to IPK in 40 days time there were many rants, opinions and thoughts shared on the Forum both negative and positive about BS.

My poser for you today is this, do the fans make an actor? Do they elevate him/her and put him/her on a pedestal, therefore demanding some allegiance from the actor to the fans? Does this mean the actor is somehow obligated to his/her fans taking into consideration the fans demands and wishes? Has the actor not the right to pursue his career befitting his needs and yearnings without the backlash of the fans demands.

By the same token can the fans topple the very same actor from his/her lofty perch?

Are fans the equivalent of the media? Media afterall is very powerful and at the same time can be rather vindictive in its pursuance of an individual's lifestory be it good bad or indifferent.

Does this make our actors at the benevolence and mercy of us the fans?

What do you say my beauties?

Any thoughts you care to share?

IMO fans make actor successful...
about IPK I am frustrated about the current track.. No Arnav redemption track, only Khushi sacrificing track and mindless Masala Mama track...

Only the fans? Credence to the actor for his/her skills is not to be taken into consideration?

His art is by the by?

Its a long spin out they have on their hands until the main male lead's return so I am assuming it wll be alot of comedies and utter nonsense. I hear even Laksmi has a bigger part to play...and such critical parts too😆

How glad I am to come 'home'!!! It feels I have been out living on the streets for such a long time😃

And what a home, I have pondering over this issue since yesterday.

I do feel very possessive about BS and SI, they have touched a chord in my heart somehow like never before, the rational part of me tells me that it is not only them, its a combined influence of the make up, the story, the set, the music and lighting, directing etc, but even with all of those things its the individuals that bring it to life, I think if it were other actors playing those roles I would have reacted differently!!

I was really upset and angry and felt let down, following the radio interview, that my favourite show was being totally ignored by my favourite actor!! but that was a knee jerk reaction and thankfully my rational self asserted itself and...I think it is a one way street, we see them five days a week beamed into our homes and they are as real to us as real people, but they don't see us in the same way, and it is difficult to feel obligation to someone you don't even know exists

Actors need fans and are and should be aware of the fans' reactions/demands, if they are to continue to remain in the limelight. But they do have a life and aspirations and choices beyond the adulation and expectations of the fans like it happens in any job. But the problem is everything they do and say is put under the microscope and analysed and scrutinised by the media and the fans.

Definitely fans can elevate an actor and put them on a pedestal and can topple them as well, but the motivation is different for the media and the fans, I think the frenzy of the fans is driven by fundamentally good intentions but the media as a whole does not do its job out of the goodness of its heart.

But in a way both media and fans are intimately inter connected. Fans will read and form opinions based on what is printed in the media and the media will respond to fan reactions...

Anyway those are my rather lengthy ramblings, before I go on my way and fulfill my own obligations😃... see you in the evening.

Bottom line is I love the show and love(may be love is too strong a word but I cannot think of an appropriate alternative!!) BS & SI...and want them in the show.😊

So I think the fans and the actor have a love hate relationship.

Initially you build a fan base with your talent and acting

then you have to maintain that level and grow.

So you upset your fans and down you go.

Keep your fans happy and the world is a better place.

BS as of now is trying to grab a few new fans with his movie but i am still unsure whether he is taking the right steps in keeping the existing ones happy..

IS HE? a question for everybody here..

@red above, But is that not a natural thing to do??? everywhere in the world, its the new and 'potential' customers that people are after, whether it is Sky or BT or Virgin Media or Energy companies or Broadband. All the deals are for the new customers. The old ones are already in the basket...

BS hasn't satisfied his customers, atleast not me yet.

Where is the complaint box???
