The Return

It starts with a car breaking down about two kilometers outside the city on a sunsaan road. Car ka sirk tyre puncher hua hota hai (I love how such stuff happens only on sunsaan sadaks). The driver and the passenger get off. The passengers name is Nigesh. Nigesh asks how long it will take to fix, and the driver replies (the standard answer) "dus-pendrah minute". Nigesh says, "Achhi baat hai, vasai bhi body akad gayi thi. Main walk kar ke aaya." He gets off the road and starts descending on one side. He sees some bluish-black stones with some weird markings. He is asking to himself what the markings could mean when a "baba" with long white hair and a long white beard and wearing a black outfit comes out of nowhere. The baba is also carrying a stick. He tells Nigesh that the markings mean, "kabhi na utho". Nigesh is surprised and asks him what does that mean. Then the baba starts his tale. (From this point on, the sky is shown blackish with dead people's faces peering at you. This I only whenever you go to that place in the whole episode.)

He says that this place you are standing on is magical. Yaahan ki mitti main jaan hai. If you bury someone who is dead in this soil, the person will come alive once again. He continues to tell Nigesh a story about a zamindar. The zamindar brought many dead bodies and buried them here, after some time they came alive. The zamindar then took them to his fields to work, where they worked without food, water, rest, or pay. They worked day and night and the zamindar treated them badly but they never once complained. (We get shots of the zombies working, their skin looks white and they walk stiffly. We also see the zamindar beating them up time and again.) But one day, the zombies rebelled against the zamindar and killed him mercilessly. Then the baba's tribe brought them back here and buried them in the soil. They then put these big stones on them to keep them in the ground. Nigesh is even more surprised. Baba tells him that these stones are also magical like the soil and it is because of them that the zombies are still in their graves. The driver now calls Nigesh that the car is ready to go. The baba turns to leave. Nigesh thinks about some doctor and says to himself that he should take some of the soil with him. As soon as he takes some, the faces in the sky start shouting and there is lightening too. The baba turns back and tells Nigesh to give the soil back but Nigesh runs away.

Back at home, Nigesh is seen talking to the doctor about the soil while his wife sits in the background. The doctor is surprised and says that he will do some chemical tests on it. Nigesh's wife says that she would hate to be woken from the dead and that no one should mess with such stuff. Nigesh says he would want to be woken from the dead and would love to live again.

The doctor is shown doing some tests. He puts the soil in some solution and puts it on a test tube. He then puts it on a Bunsen burner to heat. His assistant is also standing nearby. The doctor takes out a book and starts reading some sort of chart. The test tube explodes and the hot liquid burns the doctor's hand. The assistant runs off to get some ointment. The doctor knocks the soil off of the counter and it falls on his burned hand and the hand heals. The doctor and the assistant are really surprised. The doctor calls Nigesh and tells him the good news about the healing powers of the soil.

The next day the doctor gets a call that Nigesh's wife has had a heart attack. When he reaches there, she is already dead. Nigesh is distraught. He tells the doctor to get out of his house. Nigesh then remembers the soil and takes his wife's corpse there to bury her in it. When he is doing this, the baba comes out and tells him that this is "anarth". He shouldn't do this and that he will pay for this. Nigesh doesn't listen to him and scares him away. Next day, Nigesh wakes up in his own bed. The dhoodhwala is ringing the bell. He goes to open the door but instead of the dhoodhwala, his wife is standing there. He is very happy. He doesn't notice that his wife looks different and like a zombie.

The doctor comes to Nigesh's house and Nigesh makes him meet his wife. The doctor tells him that she does not look like his wife at all. Nigesh gets mad and tells him that it is his wife and that she is just more obedient now. The doctor says that he wants to take a medical check-up of her. Nigesh agrees. The doctor is shocked to see that she is cold and has no pulse or heart-beat. The zombie wife now grabs the doctor's hand and doesn't let go. The doctor is very scared by now. He goes to the baba and asks him how to do the zombie under control. The baba says don't give her any salt and put a necklace of these stones on her and come and bury her back here and put a stone on her. When the doctor goes back to nigesh's home, he sees that nigesh has already given her food and she is about to kill him. The doctor puts the stone necklace on her and nigesh goes and buries her back in the soil and puts a stone on her.

In the last scene, a couple of builders are at the same spot. They have removed all the stones. The zombies come awake and kill them.

THE END.

Buh-bye! Luv Gunia
