In her speech, anandi only thanked teacherji, dadisa and bapusa and sumitra.
I feel that taisa should have been thanked for always being a backbone. and tausa too has been very kind - even though he is always a distant sort. The moment her BA results came, he took out huge wads of cash and asked makhan to distribute sweets in the whole village. He also helped in some organizing capacity when she was busy with the elections.
It bothered me that she never mentioned the two of them. 😕

well parents perhaps do not need to be thanked -- because that would just be a perfunctory formality.
all they did was marry her off at a young age -- and it was obvious from the speech that anandi gave that she feels shortchanged because of her bal vivah -- and grieves for the life that she might have had. i feel that she may have some sort of covert resentment towards them.
but tausa and taisa have stuck with her through thick and thin -- especially in the bad times. it would have been nice if she had mentioned them...
