It was only when Arnav was sitting in his office, a little cooled down when he noticed something that he hadn't noticed before.
Khushi had spoken to Payal about Ajay. From Payal's reaction he knew she knew Ajay well and didn't find it out of the ordinary that Khushi was wearing his ring. What surprised him more was Anjali was there and even she seemed okay with this.
As far as he knew no one knew of Khushi's whereabouts apart from him. So why wasn't they shocked to see her wearing that ring? If Khushi had told them about her marriage after coming back here then how could Di behave so normally. Anjali had told him in no uncertain terms yesterday that she wanted Khushi back in his life. There was something weird going on and he'd definitely get to the bottom of it.
Feeling restless he decided to go home and ask Payal about this.
"umm Payal"
"ji Arnavji?"
"Who is Ajay?" - Arnav asked straightforwardly.
Payal thought Arnav was asking because he wanted to know who gave Khushi the ring.
"Ajay is Khushi's childhood friend. They are really close. Best friends. "
Arnav felt as if he was punched in the gut. So Ajay is not some random guy that Khushi married. They knew each other from their childhood and probably loved each othe. If he hadn't forcefully married Khushi probably they would have gotten married. This realization felt like a stab in his already bruised heart.
"You know actually Khushi stayed at his place after she left here. He really took great care of her."
Yeah really good care!! Her pregnancy proved that he thought wryly.
"If only she had told us where she was we wouldn't have worried so much. Ajay has always been very protective of Khushi you see"
Arnav was getting furious. "What the" ... How could Payal go on and on about Ajay infront of Arnav. Didn't she have any common sense? Didn't she see how much Arnav had suffered after Khushi had left. First time ever he cursed his brother's wife in his mind.
"You know Ajay always acted big brother to Khushi. She was like the sister he never had"
Wait WHAT!!! what did payal just say??? If he acted like Khushi's big brother how did he impregnate her? Gross people...
"You probably don't know this Arnavji but Shyam tried to get hold of Khushi after she left thinking that now she was helpless. It was ajay who saved her from his clutches and Khushi changed her name to Malhotra so that shyam couldn't trace her."
Arnav's head jerked up so fast and he stared at Payal as if she was an alien.
How could it be true? He had himself seen them together... What about the baby? Did Khushi lie to payal or was payal lying to him. It felt as if something was stuck in his windpipe and he found it even hard to swallow. He had to find out the truth.
He got up and left without a word. He didn't even realize that he walked out on Payal talking.
Payal is not dumb. She didn't blabber unnecessarily in front of her jethji for no reason. She knew there was a problem going on and she sensed Arnav's jealousy towards Ajay this morning. She had seen their love when Khushi lived here and she was also seeing the torment that both of them was going through now. Payal saw how Arnav's eyes never seemed to leave Khushi wen she was near him. He became oblivious to everything. So she decided to clear the air a little. She knew something big must have happened between them but she had tried her level best. The rest was up to them.

Arnav stared at the document in front of him with blank eyes. He couldn't believe the document in front of him. How could he have been so stupid? He had misunderstood her once more. How would he even show her is face. He felt like dying, killing himself for the pain he had caused her. His bleeding hand didn't seem to ease the pain in his heart .
Khushi's medical report was infront of him.
Name: Khushi Malhotra
Age : 21
Pregnancy terminated due to miscarriage.
Pregnancy Duration: Six months
Reason: Depression
If Arnav had been smart enough before instead of being jealous he could have calculated the date and found out that the baby was his. It was as if his parents died all over again. Because of his bitterness and trust issues he had ruined a poor girl's life. He probably was the reason that his child was not able to see the light of the day. Oh god what had he done. How many times had he misunderstood her? How could he ever possibly make it up to her. Even if he begged for forgiveness for the rest of his life it would not be enough.
Arnav got up, a determined look in his face and strode out with a purpose.

Khushi was sitting in her room, eyes closed tired. Suddenly she felt someone very gently take her hand in theirs. Without even looking she knew it was Arnav and her eyes snapped open.
Arnav was kneeling in front of her, his head bent and one of his hands were bleeding profusely. He slowly slid Ajay's ring back into her finger.
Khushi was totally shocked. What the hell. Did he go back to that place and search for that ring? Why did he search for it? She knew something grave must have happened for Arnav to behave like this.
Before she could even react to the happenings Arnav sunk his head into her lap and cried like a baby. "I'm so sorry Khushi" "I'm so sorry jaan"

Yay!!! Arnav now knows the truth... I wanted Khushi to tell him the truth but then I thought this was a better way for him to know 😃...
