On stars, public, causes & shows like SMJ

Searching stuff on Satyamev Jayate and Aamir Khan since last few weeks made me really think on our own double standards and hypocrisy as public.
We routinely complain of saas bahu type shows ruining TV, laugh at reality shows and write comments on degrading standards of Indian TV as likes of Rakhi Sawant are allowed to dominate. But why do we get so cynical, sarcastic and hateful when a meaningful show like Satyamev Jayate comes up? Weren't we the ones complaining of nothing to watch on TV? Nothing meaningful? Didn't we complain of the cacophony in news channel shows, where debate becomes a fight, nothing really happens?

Coming to stars, didn't we always take digs at stars for not doing something for society?Didn't most of us usually say these stars are so popular then why don't they use their popularity and money for something good? Don't we routinely talk of the repetitive crap Bollywood dishes out?

If answers to all these questions are YES (which I know they are for over 95% people), then I really want to know WHAT exactly is your problem when a show like Satyamev Jayate comes around?!
And when a star makes movies or shows on social issues, why you doubt him and don't give him any credit?! If he's just an entertainer, even then you have a problem. If he does something worthy for society, you think he's doing it for money, image building and make all theories about his calculations? Even a women's issue looks like a marketing strategy to you?🤢

These guys have NO problems with Oprah's crying or OTT public display of affection towards people invited to talk on her show. But have great issues with Aamir's moist eyes and are making a big deal as if he howled like a baby who wasn't fed!😆

The conspiracy theories made by people to maul this show are outlandish to say the least. It's made to beat Amitabh or KBC. It was made to counter Salman's Being Human (as if Aamir never supported causes before it ever), it is a retirement plan, step to politics, making image of most intelligent star- blah blah! Some hater even ignorantly said he made it to get Oscar! 🤪[As if Oscar gives awards to foreign TV shows! Right!😡]

I really want to know what people want?! If someone talks sense you call it preachy or hidden agenda. If someone does not talk at all you still trash him for doing nothing, only gulping on money and power!

Why can't we decide what we want eh? Why dismiss Ekta Kapoor or her shows then? If you like unpretentious entertainment then praise her shows na! Why make fun of Rakhi Sawant or Dolly Bindra? They are better than ''fake'' or agenda driven Aamir Khan talking on social issues. Right?😆

In case of Satyamev Jayate I see everyone labeling those who praise it as lovestruck Aamir fans who would like anything he does and all those anti-Reliance, anti-STAR, anti-Skoda yeh woh writing shit or RTing crap on Aamir or his personal life, just to maul the show - besides fans of other stars who are yet again unable to digest how Aamir left everyone behind taking a different path!

Now many smarty-pants have opinions on Aamir's intentions or how to deal with issues. Many of whom have never bothered to blog about issues earlier! What authority do these gossip-mongers have to criticise SMJ? And if you know so much, then why not do something yourself?

People have themselves done NOTHING in their lives but will start ''anti'' movements against someone who is doing something. Some journalists also jealous why their work does not get attention but Aamir's did. All I'd like to ask, is that is it about you or him? Or is it about issues? Would you maul SMJ or try to dissuade people from watching it simply due to your own ego?Even you don't care about issues then!🤢

What should a channel do? Keep showing new seasons of Voice of India or start a new saas torturing bahu show? I think yes, because you bash it if it does something different and socially relevant too!🤪

Some have now started asking what difference will it make? Okay, you think it can't make a difference - even donations aren't enough. So? Does it mean such shows should not be made because they can't make a difference anyway? What difference do these gossip bloggers make by writing sarcastic shit on current affairs and public figures?🐷

And to all haters - I have just one thing to say - ''Aapke dil pe toh lagi hai hi. Isi liye iske baare mein baat kiye bina raha nahi jaa raha! Bas kuch logon ke dil ko Satyamev Jayate ne chhoo liya, tum jaison ke dil ko jalaa diya!'' 🤣

First public should decide finally what it wants! Don't lament on dire state of television if you even hate informative shows like Satyamev Jayate. Or do you just like to bash everyone be it a guy from SMJ or Bigg Boss? If you simply bash for the heck of it, then get some medical help. Cure your frustration. Do something in your own life first, then merely lambasting everyone for everything!

P.S. - I forgot! Haters of the show (including some academicians) are also now saying female foeticide is a NON-ISSUE and criticised Aamir for talking too much about importance of women and daughters. 👏🤡

Bhaiya I am toh very confused what public wants and what is it that they find right or ''genuine'' with this world!
I don't say praise whatever team SMJ does, but reasons for mauling it - 99.9% of which are concocted by people's own assumptions (finding ''hidden'' agenda) are useless. Come up with rational and genuine reasons what problems you have!

[The cynicism is to such level that they think even site crashing was a marketing strategy by Aamir and team!! Kar lo baat!]

And there is no dearth of positive tweets or articles on the show and Aamir, but media is deliberately making it look like it got a mixed verdict and carefully ignoring positive tweets and quoting the most sarcastic ones! So much cynicism is there in some sections that they are even looking up past records of brands sponsoring SMJ - to somehow find controversies and mock the show!😆

Really public, tell me what you want? And why is suddenly female foeticide a non issue for some of you? Why do people wish to find something ''gadbad'' in any such thing? And why does praise or success of something like Satyamev Jayate hurt people so much that they come up with new columns on it to counter it?

those pple who say killing a female foetus is not an issue...
I think their track record shud b investigated!!!! u never kno what if they have been a part that crime some way or the other!!

I really like how the focused on EVERY aspect!
those people who support killing of girl child... tomorrow when ur son doesn't get a girl to marry, then from where will u bring ur son's "kuldeepak"? :p

as for the ones berating the show... well let them tell us ONE thing they have done for this cause?... they wud b blank and run away to hide their face 🤢

if it wud have been about raking in money... Aamir khan wud be doing cheap antics in award functions or those useless reality shows... do u see him there?
y is his fee a big issue? when other actors can take crores for hosting useless show y can't Aamir khan take that for hosting an AWESOME show?

abt the tears... my FB homepage was filled with people saying they cried while watching the show... same here at IF many said they cried and I myself had tears... then y is HIS tears an issue?? he is a human just like us not some alien who can't cry! if u r stone hearted, don't expect every1 to b like u.

I have also read somewhere that the victims shown in show seemed fake... foe those I only wish u NEVER have to go thru the same to realise if those victims were fake or real :-/

@Alia

So well said! My own parents were moist eyed and debated this issue for hours after the episode was over. My mom told me she and colleagues talked about the issue and the show even at office. Everyone was emotionally charged and all praises for the show, everyone debated the problem at hand.

And I do know of many people who never bother otherwise but sent loads of SMSes to help the cause raised in Satyamev Jayate.

Articles of impact have already started coming up. That is what matters. Conspiracy theorists and gossip-mongers can keep writing trash. Do nothing yourself, just get attention by writing trash on popular topics!🤢

The so called haters could not resist themselves from talking about the show or the issue raised...this alone is enough to prove how much his work and show has affected them...at least one they are talking about an issue which would not have occurred in their tiny brains...

Countering salman's charity...lolz...such people should read salman's tweet...he has urged very one to watch amir's show...the rivalry and competition is a figment of some sick brain...

Amir's personal life is not up for public discussion...people who are calling him fake and doubting his intentions should see how low they are ready to stoop...who are they to decide about what amir should do in his personal life...has he done any crime...?any anti social deed...the answer is NO and therefor such people shoul shut up...

Lastly the people who call female foeticide a non issue...well now we know who are the ones with disgusting mentality and the ones endorsing such heinous crime...
