😊 Just touching the lighter side of it, how many times we have signed or put a tick on the penal code, traffic rules, or road warnings, violators will be prosecuted ? that we agree with it 😆.
and also that we all have read it! since it is necessary to be aware with the rules so by liking it we show that yes as a member i have read it!
That's what I said but I feel (and you may Disagree!) In case of forum warnings whether we like it or not (we agree or not by pressing 'Like') it will be enforced. If there is some sort of opinion poll then we can add Agree or Disagree, Like or Dislike. 😊

about not liking every comment or topic.. i think its a personal opinion.. as fer i am concerned i like only when i agree! no matter who has made the post or who is replying! if i dont agree i prefer to ignore that instead of quoting and going into unnecessary fights!
Agreed. I was referring to the tendency of groups who make it a point to press Like on every post made by any member of the team and not to press Like for the opposition.

since we have only like tab here.. not dislike tab so not pressing the like tab in a reply of some post by the TM means i dont agree! like tabs are for liking! so if someone doesnt agree or like it its natural for not pressing the like tab.
We can reply or comment on a post but still not press 'Like' but if we press Like then we must add something in our comments.

by the way liking or no liking.. is it so important? 😆

For warnings nope, for posts if there is something you read and liked (not necessary fall in love with) 😊

Actually that's the problem with new social media and how ambiguous human behaviour actually is. Thank you, Like, Agree, all covered under the shade of one Thank you.

Then 'Like' came along -- sigh! The scourge of social media. (the spider!!)

In usage people 'like' for many reasons:
Because they like it
Because they agree, approve
Because they support the sentiments expressed
Because they want to thank the poster
Because they disagree and are going to say so in THEIR post 😆😆
Because they're being polite
Because it's a habit 🤔
I do it when I open a thread and want to thank people for posting but don't know what to say in response to '😳'
I do it to indicate that I've read a post even if I haven't had time to reply.

As per Thesaurus the (few) synonyms for Like are
Like = Similar, Comparable, Alike, Corresponding, Identical.. and you have added a whole lot of shades to this word

So in short, LIKE is like... ok, I'm going to be gross here and I hope everyone sees it as a natural corollary rather than feeling disgusted or insulted... LIKE is like a dog peeing all over its territory.
It stands for "I WAS HERE" 😆😆😆
(I was considering putting a picture to your words.. but you were graphic enough. 😃)

Bubble

PS. Oh, and I 'LIKED' your post. Not because I agree but because it was refreshing, it made me laugh, it made me think, recollect and gather my thoughts and it prompted me to post. 😛
So there you go.

I need to thank you. Where is that Thank You button now...😕 😆

You may blame Mark Zuckerbeg for this malady.

The real blame for Mark Zuckerbeg would be that.. He has brought people together under the same roof (facebook) who are thousand miles apart and taken families living under the same roof thousand miles apart. i.e. we have time to talk our friends spread all over the world but not have time to talk to our family living in the same house. But should we be blaming Mark Zuckerbeg???
Now don't throw up please. 😳
