Part 16

Wiping the tears with the back of her palm Geet looked at Vicky.It was evident that he was upset with her.She slowly called out his name.

Vicky turned back and said,"The decision is yours bhabi,Who am I to interfere in your life?"and walked away.

Maan's cell beeped bringing him out of his thoughts.

He said"Yes,uncle?"

Mr.Whorlton smiled and said,"Maan I want you to be in Sydney day after tomorrow with the final designs.Will you be able to?"

"Of course uncle!My team has to just decide the color of the panels.Once it is completed,I'll be coming there!"he said.

"Good.I wanted to inform you about that.Good luck with the journey!"the man said as he hung up.

Maan called up his secretary and said,"Ms.Shikha Gupta,can u tell SS(Sasha Saxena)'s team to arrive at the conference room?"

"Sure MK"the woman replied as Maan hung up.

Geet rushed into the conference room.

Well,she'd been late.

Heck!she muttered under her breath as she sat next to Sasha.

Surprisingly Maan hadn't come yet.Where was he?

Geet was lost in thoughts that she missed people laughing at her in the conference room.

Preeti quickly came near her and said,"Are you sure you're okay?"

"Of course I am.Why are you laughing at me?"she asked confused.

Sasha and Preeti sighed at her foolishness and Preeti handed over her pocket mirror.

Geet got the mirror in her hand and her eyes widened with shock.

Her lips were swollen and were slightly blue.She looked at Sasha and turned pink with embarrassment and shame.

Preeti and Sasha looked at each other and Preeti placed a comforting hand on Geet's shoulder.

"Relax!"she said.

They knew that something was wrong but they wanted Geet to speak up.

"Who?"Sasha asked but Geet just shook her head.

"Ain't we your friends?"Preeti asked trying to sound hurt.

Before Geet could reply,''What's going on?"

Maan's voice echoed along the silent conference room.

His eyes fell on Geet who was lowering her head.

He sat on his chair and said,"Be seated.SS may I have the possible colors for the panels?"

"Yes MK.Since the new mobile phone has been targeted at girls,We have decided to go with Red,Orange,Green,Blue,Pink or Yellow"she said.

"mm..What do you think,Ms.Malhotra?"Maan asked Preeti.

"MK,I think we can go with Blue,Pink or yellow."she replied politely.

"Pink is for women.We can make the panels pink."Maan declared as he got up from his chair indicating the meeting's end.

"But Maan.."Geet began.

"Ms.Handa,I think you're forgetting the rules of the company.You cannot address any person by his/her first name.

"And secondly,I think your father has not taught you any manners.You cannot speak to anyone unless you are given a chance,particularly in a professional environment like KTP."he told her rudely.

"I am sorry MK.But every company who are dealing with mobiles for women prefer Pink.I think all light colours will be apt for Mr.Whorlton's criteria"she hit back at him.

Maan narrowed his eyes at her and that was when they lingered on her lips.They were swollen and blue.

He closed his eyes in regret and pain.

What had he done?That was the reason his staff had teased her.

"You all may leave and Miss.Handa,meet me in my cabin now."he said as he walked away.

Geet entered his cabin with her heart pounding fast.

The kiss that they had shared popped up into her mind.Controlling her heartbeats she knocked on the door.

Following his authoritive "Come in"she entered to see him standing with his hands in his pocket and his back facing her.

On his table was a first aid kid which was closed.On it was a lip balm.

"Apply the balm on your lips"he said to her.

"Why should I?"she asked him curiously.

"Because I asked you to"he replied.

"No I wouldn't"she told crossing her arms.

Maan turned back and stalked towards her.He took the balm and forcefully gave it to her.

"Apply"he told her.

She looked at his angry face and slowly appied the balm on her lips.

"Feeling better?"he asked her.

She nodded her head.

A very comfortable silence prevailed in the room with Geet gawping at him and him looking away.

"Shall I tell you something?"she asked slowly.

"Mm."he said.

"I just wanted to say that I will do anything for your happiness"she said and began to walk away.

Maan was shocked.

"I will do anything for your happiness"these words rang in his ears.He hated it.

He hated himself that he wanted to give her pain.

Why couldn't fate stay with him atleast once?

All the persons whom he loved have gone away from him-his parents,dadi saa,dadaji,Ragini..

Why couldn't she understand the simple fact that if he began to love her she will leave him for sure because there were chances of him misunderstanding her!

If he had understood Rags better,she wouldn't have gone away from him.

He told himself,"chahe jo bhi ho,I will make her hate me!"

"Wait"he said and she stopped.

"You will do anything for my happiness right?"he asked and she turned around nodding at him.

"Then strip!"he told her and watched her freeze.

Vicky and Annie were in deep thoughts.

"I have to tell dadi"Annie declared as she dialled dadi's number.

"Dadi,ek problem"Annie began as Vicky and she briefed dadi.

"mm..So we will start our next plan"dadi said as the trio decided what they were to do.

"Ab aayega azli maza"Vicky said as he grinned.

Geet let her tears roll down.

"Strip!"that was what he told her.

She felt cheap,disgusted and above all angry.

"No"she said amidst shaking her head.

Maan smirked.

"See?All you girls are the same.You just say it in words but never do!"Maan said as he walked away leaving her behind in the room shaking terribly.

It was about 8 PM when Maan returned to KTP.He wanted to collect some files that he had to go through.

All his staff were leaving and he was surprised to see the light in Geet's cabin.

"Very strange"he thought as he walked into her cabin.

She was no where to be seen.

He panicked.

"Geet?"he yelled but No answer.

Suddenly,the lights went off.

"Great.is light ko abhi jaana tha!"he cursed as he operated the torch light in his mobile.

He searced in the corner of the room and what he saw made his heart stop beating-

"GEET!"he screamed!
