Oh The Possibilities

The ups and downs are really what make this show so addictive. The hills where we declare our love/celebrate victories and the valleys where we brood incessantly/accept defeat. They are the scenes that have us talking about them for days – good or bad- and leave us with feelings of overwhelming contentment/frustration.

After the past weekend, these characters have been chatting non-stop in my head as I consider Oh-The-Possibilities (OTP) in the show. They just won't shut up so maybe if I just write it down then they can leave me alone so I can concentrate on my own life LOL.

Sundays with Laurie :

{Characters in her head} – C'mon Laurie… you know you want to tell them.

[Laurie] – If I do will you leave me alone? Like for real???

{Characters in her head} – Maybe… let's do OTP# 1

[Laurie] – OK. Here goes …

OTP #1

After thinking about it, Purvi admits to Arjun that she has feelings for him but she's not sure of what they are. She's still obviously upset about the whole Pune MMS scandal and wants to clear her name and bring back some respect for her family.

Arjun feels it's fair since he knows her and how she thinks. He knows he's got a chance and he won't give up without a fight. He decides to get to the bottom of the scandal. Punni tried to become close with him at work and accidentally lets it slip that she went by the room and it had a do not disturb sign on the door which gets our hero thinking 'hotel cameras - duh!'

He dashes off to Pune and asks the manager to look into the surveillance tapes and sees the real culprit. Being the sharp edged hero, he confronts Purvi with the information and the two of them come up with a way for Punni expose her wrong doings herself in front of everybody, thus, restoring Purvi's name and reputation (somewhat).

Purvi is grateful for his actions and finally accepts the fact that she's in love with him. She plans an awesome night for him – where she dresses up in a beautiful sari (to take his breath away - I really do love those scenes), confesses her love in an epic way and they….. watch a movie together (hey now its a pavitra rishta right LOL)

[Laurie] – Is that enough?

{Characters in her head} – How about one more? (Arjun sticks out his lower lip and bats his eyes) Pretty please? With a cherry on top?

[Laurie] – Aww… how cute!! How can I say no to that face? Fine…

OTP # 2

Purvi is about to confess her love to Arjun as DK and Ovi come into the office. DK introduces Ovi as Arjun's fianc to be and, of course, the bottom drops out for Arjun and Purvi (temporarily). She's crushed and but so is Arjun. Ovi is so happy to see Arjun that she doesn't notice but DK does and he finally get's it. Arjun is in love with Purvi!

Now as DK is a bit infatuated with Ovi he sides with her and as Arjun never got the green light from Purvi he is vulnerable. His dad compels him to get engaged to Ovi. He agrees out of respect for his dad and the commitment he made earlier in front of everyone but his heart is ravaged and empty.

Ovi notices his behavior around Purvi. She sees how he hangs on Purvi's every word and tries to help her in anyway he can – even if Purvi doesn't see it. She also sees the love in Purvi's eyes for Arjun and how she also does things to make his life easier or small things make him happy.

Ovi sobers up and realizes that Arjun would never love her that way and she wants him to be happy. Before the engagement, she confronts Purvi and shakes the confession out of her. She goes to DK, her father and her family and explains the situation and what she needs to do.

On the day of the engagement, Arjun is in turmoil (he's eaten like a whole bottle of TUMS) and he's dreading what he is about to do but decides that he needs to let it go. He gets dressed and goes into the hallway. Purvi and Ovi switch places – everyone knows except Arjun – and she walks in while his back is turned to her.

His dad and Ovi walk her up to him and as he turns around (slow motion of course) he gets the shock of his life. Purvi dressed up in the engagement attire standing in front of him. She then confesses her love for him in front of everyone and they get engaged.

[Laurie] – OK…happy now??? Can you all just leave me alone and let me finish my projects for the week?

{Characters in her head} - Its ok for now… but we'll be back

[Laurie] – (sighs) I know…

The writers of this show have the best job!!!
