I had deliberately stayed away from this forum because I could never be a part of any "team khushi" v/s "team arnav"...because the show is about BOTH of them and not just one... that is what they had intended to show in the first place and which is also why we do not have the side characters (read : Payaash) much developed as they should be, since this is essentially a love story between Arnav and Khushi.
And read again - this is NOT a "nok jhok" filled romantic comedy.. atleast thats what I never percieved it to be and which is why it appealed to me in the frst place ... It was SUPPOSED to be an intense, passionate, dark love story comprising of two diametrically opposite characters - a happy-go-lucky sunny optimistic girl and an anti-hero, cynical guy.. and that was why love was so difficult to happen between them ... because the basic principles on which they led their lives did not match! Yes, I do agree the comic element was there upto an extent because of khushi's antics due to the inherent person she is...and her initial reaction to ASR... but NOT because of the forced comedy they are trying to show now.
I agree with a large extent to everybody here who says that the CVs have butchered khushi's character in trying to show Arnav's character the selfless hero...But I don't agree that Arnav's charactter has not been messed with, his has too.. but since that's not the main point of this post I won't go there.. let's just say that khushi's character has been butchered to a lot more extent than Arnav's.. and with the writer himself saying that "khushi is weird and that's what attracts arnav towards her" I wouldn't be surprised to see whatever we are seeing.. Sanaya had said when she took the award that Arnav and Khushi are Gul's vision..but the writer says only Arnav is Gul's vision.. so whose vision is khushi?! Rather, is anybody even writing her character?! Or are they just putting together a few dialogues here and there and sewing them up with the neatly weaved episode?! Sanaya had once said in an interview "you can do anything with khushi - you can make her cry, laugh, get angry..all the emotions" .. perhaps they are taking her statement a little too seriously! And the writer also claims two other things that were beyond me :
1. "Its very difficult to get all of us on the same page..." - umm exactly HOW many people are working on a single episode and script?! Just reminding the CVs of an age-old saying - too many cooks spoil the broth...
2. "We still haven't worked on khushi's realisation.." which is funny .. and at the same time gives most answers to why khushi is shown behaving the way she is ... and I guess many people who say khushi does not love arnav the way he loves will know WHY.. because the writer himself is clueless whether she loves him or not! That's the most bizarre thing I have seen.. so when are the CVs planning on her "realisation"?! As far as I remember, we didn't have any arnav "realisation" too...but we did have many retrospective and eureka moments for him - the key ones being when he realises he lost khushi and he almost screams out loud "farak padta hain..kyunki.." and then he stops and fr a moment there is a look of truth dawning on his face..so we know he has completely realised but his ego or whatever it is that is not allowing him to say it out loud.. same thing happened during the heer-ranjha.. but what abt khushi?! They have had soo many moments and chances to show her restrospecting abt her feelings..but they used it to show...what? How Arnav is so great and selfless!
And I absolutely do NOT buy the silly excuse abt IPL going on and hence the lowering of TRPs.. the TRPs have lowered not because of IPL but because of the fact that there is no damn story! Neither do I buy the excuse that since IPL is going on, anyway they will lose viewers hence why not put in lame tracks until IPL ends? erm..what kind of reverse logic is that?! I thought the ideal thing to do would be to put in tracks and hold onto the viewers' interests so that they do NOT switch over to IPL?! Ofcourse loyal IPL viewers will watch IPL no matter how good the story line is ... so they thought the same is true for loyal IPK viewers too? Well, apparently they are wrong ... as the falling TRPs tell them .. they HAVE to realise that there is a LIMIT to which they can cash in on SaRun's chemistry and their popularity as a jodi...if the story does not hold the viewers' interest, SaRun's chemistry will be of no importance.. and it is very obvious now, when, despite the fact that the track IS around ArHi and they have the max screen space, they are not getting as much views as they should ..
so, take a hint, CVs!! And quick.. if not, be ready to have IPK out of the top ten..and soon, out of the channel itself! Because unlike you guys, other shows are not bothering abt ongoing IPL etc ..or atleast not hiding under the pretense of that just because they don't have a story/script in their mind... they have much better and much interesting stuff to show.. and its no surprise that they are rising up the TRP scale..they soo deserve it!
