TOI: Khatte Kairee turns Meethi

Soap Opera mother in laws dominate our TV screen in different avatars and Imarti Devifrom Colors' new serial 'Kairee' is no different.

Played by Hema Singh, Imarti Devi will have a new twist to her character. The strict, dominating mum will have a change of heart. In charge of her children's lives, Imarti Devi will give a go ahead to her son Anuj to marry his sweetheart, Mala. The mother of three will even request Mala's parents to get the two married.

But here's the twist. Sources reveal that this union will not culminate into marriage! Post the engagement, the serial will see a turn of events that will stall the couple's marriage plans. With a grand engagement ceremony planned for her son Anuj, Imarti Devi will fool audiences only for a while!

In the end, will Mala (played by Leena Jumani) and Anuj (played by Jay Bhanushali) manage to cross this hurdle?
