As if a long tale has found its closure.Balika Vadhu. Was it ever meant a tale of blossoming love? No, from beginning the story had two protagonists. An unfortunate but spirited child bride and her equally determined tormentor; Dadisa...The girl's parents, parents in law, or her child groom, all were very much there, but mainly as supporting cast; in a set-up where chief contention was between a resourceful but overwhelmed girl and an ironclad matriarch, determined to subjugate and shape a typical bride for her household. There was actually no match. However much girl tried, the bar was always set an inch up. The trials were seemingly endless. As a viewer, had been thinking- when would she win over the dowager, if ever? Dsa was simply impossible to please...But today, the fate has turned a full circle. The girl has evolved into a favoured daughter. Dsa stands reconciled and much more...She is now chief rooter of this victim of a child marriage or subsequent betrayal. And it was she who has been shaped into a more just, kinder and opener outlook than the one who was brought to be shaped into her orthodox ways. Dsa's decision to remarry Anandi presents this closure to original conflict, whether it actually takes place or not.

The divorce can lead to another closure too- just as one closure has been reached. The story has already stumbled into another conflict (invariably-a soap serial!). The second conflict has much more to do with a betrayal than any 'message' delivered pretentiously. Remarriage of Anandi should be a final discard of an unworthy shackle. But two antagonists-JG may also face a reality check when a convenient punchbag, removed perforce. Doctor duo are readily exploiting a third person's dragged presence to escape a serious ego problem in their interpersonal equation...The disconnect should set them free to explore their true love- that is, their own selves truly.

Hear hear! Couldn't agree more Stuti! Full circle has been achieved in the relationship between Anandi and Dadisa. What I like most about your topic is that in a true sense the main leads have been Anandi and Dadisa and not JAAN as is the popular assumption. The cherry on the top is the transformation of Dadisa, not Anandi, albeit a limited transformation for some, but transformation nevertheless. What a message to the elderly, that it's never too late to change for the BETTER. It's never too late to put aside EGO and PRIDE. It's never too late to acknowledge error in THINKING.
Thank you for this analysis.

😆 Love it! " their true love, their own selves".

Very well put, regarding unworthy shackle and (ahem) gawari facing forced reality check. Can't wait!

@stutishah,

Brilliant posts both of them.
Dadisa was always more concerned that Anandi adopt her khandaan ki reet etc. She was never cruel. Her intention was more to mould Anandi and never to be cruel to her just for the sake of it. When she achieved this, she has always been softer on Anandi, bcz whatever said and done, Dadusa is not an ordinary lady. She herself is a extra-ordinary lady who values her extra-ordinary beendni. This is exactly what kept the audiences from hating Dadisa when she was being strict. And yes, the story has really spawned out well. When Dadisa chose to support her beendni against her jigar ka tukda, there itself Anandi had won this battle. Though on a personal level, I feel bad a s a woman that Anandi had to leave her education and some of her spirit as well to earn this love from Dadisa. Somewhere she even failed to please Jagdish, bcz she was more concerned abt pleasing Dadisa, eg wearing a modern dress for him, restarting her education, being busy in the kitchen all 24 hrs. Sometimes I wonder whether it was all wort it?

As for your second post, yes J and G have always had a passionate topic to discuss to pass the time of the day and also to pass on the buck foe every single argument. Once this vacuum is created, lets see whether their new found peace holds on. Though againg I would admit, as much as I hate Jagdish, I liked the way he was with G recently. Atleast he is making her happy. Before this he was hurting both G and A. I know I am very unrealistically optimist here, know both J and G.😕

Have always wondered about 'message' quotient, as viewed by a few, in JG's successful marriage. How could a wilful pursuance of self- getting pleasured at any cost, no matter how destructive it could be to another life ( 'what does she owe to Anandi!'), lead to any positive message- (even in its negative interpretation, that an adult is overthrowing his unwarranted 'commitment' on convenient pretext of an unexercised choice!)- was always beyond me. Cvs may yet go ahead on their forced messaging with artificially beautiful 'marriage'. Not much convincing...
