After shopping Geet and Pinky left for their homes. Pinky was really happy today and she kept blabbering all the way but Geet was totally lost in her painful memories. As Geet reached home and was keeping the stuff away, the white off shoulder dress which Pinky had forcefully made her buy fell down, she picked it up and she was reminded of the day when Maan stole her heart.

FLASH BACK

Maan and Geet started the ramp walk, initially Maan was really conscious but soon he was lost in admiring his Jaan, his Geet. They had walked till front when suddenly Maan sensed something amiss as Geet's expression changed to utter shock and then he realized as her dress strap was about to give way and he simply hugged her saving her from the immense disgrace as her dress malfunctioned. He wrapped his arms around her holding the dress in place as the audience inhaled sharply at his action. No one knew why he suddenly hugged her and they were completely shocked and stunned at his horrible behavior while the teachers and principal were aghast at his obnoxious act as Maan lifted Geet holding her really close to his chest making sure no one could even sense the mal function as he carried her towards the changing room.

Fortunately the ladies section was empty and he carried her right inside. He very gently put her down inside one of the changing rooms and softly closed the door behind him after handing her a pair of dress.

Here as Maan was coming out of the ladies section, few girls were entering and they shrieked in fright to see a guy coming out of the ladies room and Maan simply bowed his head and went out. Already there had been a huge hue and cry outside in the teaching faculty and the students viewing the fashion show regarding his horrendous act of hugging a girl like that and carrying her in such an improper manner. The principal immediately announced for the closure of the event and he called for an immediate disciplinary action meeting of his staff to discuss Maan's vulgar and highly inappropriate behavior.

Here Geet somehow managed to get a hold on herself and changed her dress really thankful to her Babaji and Maan for having saved her enormous shame and humiliation in front of all. But when she came out she was surprised to find everyone so sympathetic towards her as if someone had done huge injustice to her. She failed to realize how everyone had completely misunderstood Maan's noble act when Pari came to her with tears in her eyes.

Pari (hugging Geet): I am so sorry Geet (Geet was shocked 'Sorry but why').Had I known that Geek would be such a pervert I would have never ever suggested you to participate along with that jerk. I am really terribly sorry Geet, I didn't know he would turn out to be so cheap and pathetic.

Geet was aghast, OMG… was this, what all were thinking, she tried to speak in Maan's defense when Seema came running there.

Seema: Don't worry Geet, that Bas**** is being summoned in front of the disciplinary committee right away and I am sure they will rusticate him from the college. Obviously our faculty is not going to tolerate such cheap, sick, disgusting and shameful act of his, so don't worry.

Geet felt as if the ground slipped underneath her feet, he was going to get rusticated for saving her from humiliation and she rushed to where the meeting was being held, surprising her friends but then they thought that maybe she wanted to make sure he was aptly punished and let the thought pass.

Here principal sir had summoned Maan to the meeting, they had already decided the course of action but still wanted to give him a chance to clarify as he was their brightest student on full scholarship and had always been miles away from any trouble but what he did today was absolutely intolerable and out rightly disgusting.

Maan simply bowed his head. What was he to clarify, how could he to say that her dress malfunctioned, how could he dishonor and humiliate his love. If this news leaked all would make fun of his Jaan and he would never ever be able to forgive himself. How could he let his Mishti be at the receiving end of all the horrible jokes, comments and posters. No… never… he made up his mind to remain silent. Let them do whatever they wanted with him but he won't let his angel be humiliated and disgraced.

Principal Sir was shocked at his silence, he had never expected such a disgusting behavior from his favorite student. He considered Maan more like his son and his silence was killing him.

Principal Sir (grabbing Maan's collar and shaking him up): It is highly disgusting what you did, I am truly ashamed to have admitted you in our college in the first place. There is no place for such despicable, horrible, filthy, vulgar, immoral and unscrupulous people in our college. I am snatching your scholarship and rusticating you this very instant.

Geet had entered the room when Maan was asked to clarify and she was completely shocked and taken aback by his silence. She failed to understand why he remained silent when it struck her that it was for her image, her self-respect that he was willing to sacrifice his self-esteem, his life, his carrier, his everything. OMG she was completely over whelmed with emotions, totally stunned, simply not able to react at all as she stood like a statue.

But as principal sir demeaned Maan and was about to drag and throw him out, she could bear it no more.

All were aghast, her dress malfunctioned and no one even realized such was the greatness of Maan.

Principal Sir (astonished): But then why didn't Maan say anything?

Geet (immense respect for Maan): He was again saving me from humiliation.

All were dumb folded by his sacrifice and they really wanted to bow down to him.

Principal Sir: I am really sorry Maan for having misunderstood your noble act and am ashamed to have used such demeaning words but we didn't know the truth. (Maan blinked his eyes assuring him that he perfectly understood his situation and it wasn't their fault. After what they saw anyone would have misunderstood only, principal sir patted Maan's back) I am really proud of you my child, thank you (and Maan smiled)

Principal Sir: But what will we tell the students. I don't think we should tell about the dress malfunction as it wouldn't be appropriate for Geet.

Mr. Ahuja: How about we say that Geet's ankle twisted and hence Maan supported her and carried her back stage.

Principal Sir: Yeah this would be right, let's say this.

Hence it was decided and everyone heaved a sigh of relief that the fiasco had been taken care of and all left. Maan was about to leave when Geet spoke.

Geet: Thank you so much Maan, I don't know how to express my gratitude towards you. You didn't even know me and you not only protected me from humiliation in front of everyone, but were even ready to risk your self-respect for my sake, I am really very very grateful to you.

Maan wanted to silence her, tell her that she had every right on her, she was his Jaan and he was ready to give up his all for her but he kept quiet, he knew she hadn't even noticed him much till yesterday then how could he express his pure and divine love. They weren't even friends yet.

Geet (continued forwarding her hand): Can we be friends Maan?

Geet (clearing her throat trying to gain his attention): Ahem… ahem…

Geet (waving her hand): Friends???

And Maan immediately held her hand as if never wanting to let go and Geet felt a strange magic in his touch as if the hold was for eternity.

FLASH BACK ENDS

When a loud noise outside broke Geet's thoughts as the dress fell from her hands and she was left all alone as she felt her life, her Maan slip away from her hands. "Her Maan, he wasn't even worthy of it" her mind screamed but her heart never agreed. Tears flowed from her eyes as she fell on her knees
