IMO, 3 Idiots was far from the realist film or a combo of them.

Just like I don't have much of a preference for any genre of movie, I can't prefer one form of cinema over the other. A good film is a good film, period. But if I am hard-pressed to choose, I will pick realistic cinema, because those are the ones that I watch the most. I also prefer drama over comedy.

Always love masala...Dabangg, MHN, OSO, Singham...BRING IT ON!

Most of the times like the realistic stuff (Swades,TZP,Omkara, LSD, Do dooni chaar etc) as long as they are not too pretentious *cough*Guzaarish*cough*...

very rarely do i like the combo of masala and meaningful stuff coz LOT of films mess it up (KANK, the new Don series, even TDP messed up IMO) ...I like 3 idiots, Munnabhai series, Lagaan...those r the only 3 films i can think of which are commercial in spirit, but have lots of soul and were very relatable...
