Ahem first held Gopi's hand at the very first time he had seen her at the mandir at his home. The large diya was about to fall as Gopi miss stepped while walking down the mandir stairs. Ahem helped her to stabilise it by holding it too. Thus, holding her hands.

The first time Ahem took Gopi into his arms was when he carried her from the mandir to his bedroom when Rashi set the mandir on fire. Gopi went in to help save Hetal and she got engulfed in the smoke too and became unconscious too.
