Good episode.
Progress Points
* In the last week, tid-bits too small to be seen have made their place enough that now Shyam is able to return and get the key, in the coming week.
* The past week was more like cement in-between the bricks holding the bricks together and getting into all small nooks and crannies, too small to be noticed right away, but makes the structure stronger nonetheless.
Anjali: Offered for Arnav
Arnav is stronger of the two siblings. Quite a paradox then, that his emotional support system is Anjali. She is his vision of his mother. His mother left him, but Anjali never left his side. Weaker one she might be, but she's faithful. But then faithfulness is never measured by few great acts, but by consistently done small things over a long time.
Arnav does not openly display his emotions - never has. However, over time he has allowed Anjali to do the little things for him that she does. He does not mind it anymore; he has now attached those little things to the personality of Anjali and looks upon them with a fondness that we would attach to the eccentricities of our loved ones.
Though there is a family and a husband, who hold an important part in Anjali's life, the one yearning of her heart is that Arnav's heart may find peace - she more or less set the ball rolling for Arnav-Khushi with her prayer. Her prayer is that Arnav would find someone who'd love him, understand him and care for him, because left to himself Arnav would not share himself, he'd choose someone like Lavanya, who may be awed by his personality, but too scared to delve in.
If Arnav is an ocean, Lavanya was simply enjoying the beach. Khushi dared to wade in, but not by choice - by accident and then by need. Only Anjali has known some of his depths, which she'd be willing to share with anyone who wants to [keyword: wants] know Arnav. She is doing this for Khushi now.
Anjali: Subtle comes easier
It is a bit of a surprise that for Anjali, things that are staring in her face are ignored, but she astonishes us by her discernment of the subtle.
She did it when Khushi had been told off by Arnav at the death anniversary of his parents. She saw Khushi's unspoken hurt and comforted her.
She was the first one whose heart melted for Khushi after she'd married Arnav, but had to bear the brunt of every other person.
In the episode on 13th April, Anjali saw the care Khushi had for Arnav, when she put down her own tea and set to prepare some for Arnav first. Anjali could very easily see through not only Arnav's lie but also the hurt on Khushi face because of his lies.
Anjali actually makes Arnav lose his cool exterior when she shows him the mirror. Arnav has rarely been shown so out-in-the-open; he was shocked that his sister saw through his pretense.
Anjali sees through the mass and somehow discerns the underlying emotions.
Anjali: The cord that binds them
Anjali has always been the reason that has brought Khushi to Arnav. Somehow, unknowingly and sometimes knowingly, she's pulled Khushi to Arnav (- and by a strange coincidence, Shyam has helped her).
Be it on a physical plane - getting her a job in RM, sending her off for small chores that unintentionally for Arnav and Lavanya, being the reason Arnav marries her, etc, etc; or on an emotional plane - asking Arnav critical questions that made him think about his feelings for Lavanya, and then for Khushi; bringing to him important information about Khushi, such as, her parents' death in the past, and her care for him, recently.
Anjali is bringing Khushi closer to Arnav's heart in small, effective ways.
Arnav & Anjali
Anjali tells Arnav she is very glad that he's chosen a life partner who cares for him and his health so much, that she was up all night. Arnav agrees that he knows, though he doesn't look too happy about it. Anjali reiterates her joy.
Arnav remembers and his heart warms. He softens. He realizes that she was genuinely concerned. But then, comes a plan just as one would think of coming from Arnav - Unpredictable!
Oblivious to him, the Dove has overheard and over-seen!
She catches hold of him and Arnav goes with Anjali without asking any questions. She tells him first how much she knows him and he lets his guards down. He accepts that if it is a matter of keeping his sister happy, he can lie. The same she believes is how he deals with Khushi - or the way she puts it, the ones closest to him.
Arnav cannot handle the pain of the ones he loves. As she reveals to him the true reason behind the story he told Khushi about his health, Arnav looks insecure when his feelings come out in the open. He is used to putting them in a closet where he knows they are safe.
It seems he wasn't aware that Anjali knew him so much, that she'd be able to see right through his lies.
What's more surprisingly, it seems he hadn't connected the dots of his own behavior with Khushi until Anjali did it for him. Someone needed to show him the mirror. But he's happy to see what he sees. Though, it hurts him - for now.
Anjali is really being what only she can be for Arnav right now. Unknowingly she is the only balm to his calm his pain.
Anjali sees and hears it all but doesn't butt in between the husband and wife, which was really good. She didn't bust his secret in front of Khushi, which was also perfect.
Very wisely, she has left Arnav to deal with this realization that he cares for Khushi beyond he'd ever know. She has left it to him to see how he wants to deal with it. But the message is clear - you want her pain to end, but do not hide yourself from her. She needs to understand you. Do not hide yourself from the one you love so much and the one who cares for you so. Don't be afraid to show your feelings to her.
As of now, Arnav may not follow her completely, except for his realization. He cannot be expected as he does not even trust her. But when he knows the truth, then he must.
Anjali & Khushi
There was once a scene where Khushi was hiding Anjali's secret of having kids at home for a pooja and she had to hide them from Arnav. The kids, however, messed with Arnav's peace.
Arnav had a tiff with Khushi because she brought in children. She'd been trying to hide the children for Anjali's sake - because Anjali wanted a pooja done. Arnav did not know that and he reacted to the moment, blaming Khushi for the havoc the kids had wrecked in his room, making him out to be a monster.
Before he learns the truth, there is a scene where Anjali falls and her knee brace comes off. Khushi rushes to help Anjali - Arnav is not around, though he is near.
Khushi calls Arnav, and he is about to rush to her, when he feels she is pulling his leg again. Khushi helps Anjali get up from the fall, makes her sit up, attaches her knee brace again. Anjali has had to go through pain - physical, because the knee brace came off, and emotional, because Arnav didn't show up when Khushi called for help. (Nani was observant to see that if it hadn't been for Khushi, Anjali may have been in a lot of pain. It softened Arnav further towards Khushi.)
Anjali is an righteous, upright person who needed to support her brother when their mother died. For her own support, she looked to her husband, though he is a false support - kind of like her false leg - making her limp. The false one may come off and she'd fall. But as Khushi helped her last time, she has done so before, and she might again.
Until now, Anjali had seen Khushi as a good and kind person, wanting to help one and all, always joyful and sometimes naughty. It was a shock for her when she turned up married to her brother because she did not expect something of that sort from her. Yet, she accepted her.
Then, she saw her brother's love for Khushi. She saw how much he was in love and she was happy that her prayer was answered. Only now, she is getting to see that Khushi too cares for Arnav; and she loves this.
Anjali sees Khushi giving a higher priority to Arnav.
Khushi had been very anxious, blaming herself for Arnav's bad health. She stayed up all night and even in the morning, Khushi puts down her tea, which she needed badly, to prepare some for Arnav.
Anjali is trusting Khushi with tidbits about Arnav, which she hopes will help her. And it has!
Arnav
Anjali tells Arnav she is very glad that he's chosen a life partner who cares for him and his health so much, that she was up all night. Arnav agrees that he knows. Anjali reiterates her joy.
Anjali is bringing Khushi to Arnav.
Arnav initially irritated, is reminded later of the care Khushi gave him all night. He remembers her care. Arnav remembers and his heart warms. He softens. He realizes that she was genuinely concerned. Even during the night, he'd quietly wondered if the care was for real.
Apparently, it was.
Her care is supposed to irritate you, Arnav, isn't it? But dear, oh dear, you still cannot see her getting hysterical over you and cursing herself for your bad health.
So you plan. Plan is good. Arnav is good at planning. Arnav is good at executing the plan too.
Khushi comes to give tea to Arnav. Arnav changes gears.
Arnav: Swami nahi kahogi. [Won't you call me swami?]
He catches her unaware.
When she looks confused, he pretends to yield in.
Arnav: Well, I guess I could tell you now!
And then, Arnav lies to khushi about being unwell last night and says that he was simply getting her back about her extra love mischief.
- I s'pose part of fandom trusted his lies, just as Khushi did.
- I s'pose part of fandom saw 'LIAR' clearly written all cross his face.
- However, I'm pretty much certain a very small percentage of the Fandom saw what Anjali saw, which is the reason, the CVs had to make Anjali tell Arnav, that is tell us why he did it.
Anjali knows Arnav well - only she could see through the intention.
However, Khushi totally bought into his lies - just as Arnav thought she would. Khushi does not trust him and Arnav knows she does not. The trick he played on her was not just because he knows she is naive, but rather she'd believe him when he says he lied to her.
As he relates his 'not a bad idea', he knows she is taking in every word to the extent that she can hardly believe that she was fooled.
He walks off looking victorious and turns to see the effect of his lies.
Arnav, though the intention was COOL - way beyond cool - this is probably going to make having her trust you a tad more difficult than it might have been. But then, she already doesn't trust you so, well, What the--!
Khushi
You still looked extremely worried when you slept in the kitchen. But bless your heart, even then, you did not, rather could not forget Arnav's needs. He needs tea. So you put the free cup of tea that you got and start preparing some for him.
Don't worry; the prince is all set to wake up the sleeping beauty - but not with a kiss.
And then comes the big blow.
Khushi: Hawww!! Swami lied!
Me: He lied!! I was SO shattered that he lied to you that I wanted to start that previous sentence with an Exclamation Mark, instead of ending it with one!
That rocked your little world.
Arnav Singh Raizada got his back on you? And you didn't notice for once? He got you believing HIM? You again trusted him – him, of all people?
My dear girl, you're a paradox - just as much as Arnav. You say you don't trust him, but you trust not only his truth, but also his lies! In fact, you feel you know him – yeah you do know him more than most others, a bit more than his staff, more than Aman, infinitely more than Lavanya, but you really are yet to see the Arnav that Anjali spoke about the other day when she was trying to help you. But of course, you didn't listen to that part. And in this current scenario, no one should really even expect you to try to find a different Arnav - you're having a hard time dealing with the one you got right now. Goodness knows what a 'different' Arnav may be like!
However, in this case, we understand that you not have known it at all. You know Arnav is capable of revenge. You know you had him irritated. So, the story he told you made perfect sense.
My dear girl! *hugs* he didn't lie to you. He cares for you; and according to the Dove, he cares for you more than he can ever know - so you ever fathoming just how much he cares is a little er ... impossible!
So about your decision to continue with your Pati-bhakti, I'm ALL with you! And no, the reason, is not that it is irking Arnav (which, by the way, I don't mind) - but that it is doing wonders to Arnav and his realization of your feelings through the Dove.
Besides as our dear friend – a good one, though sometimes, elusive - the Precap tells us that Shyam is back to doing no good. I'd love to see his face as you go being the 'wife' for Arnav. I hope I get to see it.
Arnav & Khushi
1. The morning came and Arnav freaked out because of Khushi going hysterical over his health. To top it, as he attempt to get out of there, he trips and lands on the floor. The wife rushes to help him, but by then he's had it - 'don't come near me', he fires.
Khushi, you managed to freak out your hubby first thing in the morning. Good job! My girl...! proud of you!
2. But Arnav, that's not all - the missus oiled your hair at night.
Man, I did rant once that the gel from his hair seeped into his brain, jamming it - so I wished that Khushi would dip it overnight in oil and by morning it'll hum.
Arnav: *can't believe* Are u crazy?
Fandom:*to Arnav*: Have you forgotten?
3. Thanks to the cord that binds them, Arnav realizes the care his wife rained on him all night.
He didn't get worked up about Anjali knowing and Khushi using it to score it higher with the family.
Fandom: Hmm... the oil seems to have worked. Note to Khushi: Should do this more often!
Strange family: Bournevite works for Akash, and Hair Oil works for Arnav!
Now, I'm trying to think of something that'd work for Anjali - perhaps, Buaji's Kaadha.
For Shyam, of course, we needn't worry much. A bit of rat poison will do the trick once and for all.
4. Khushi in red and Arnav in green – role reversal from the last morning?
5. Khushi comes to give tea to Arnav. Arnav changes gears.
Arnav: Swami nahi kahogi.
LOVED LOVED Arnav's expressions in this go! BRILLIANT!
6. LOVED the subtle touch of when she began to lose grip on the tray.
One, it told him she had bought his story.
Two, it said she felt he couldn't be trusted and she was being fooled.
Three, it told us he meant no harm, he was helping her.
Nice touch, CVs!
7. LOVED Laxmi on Arnav's side of the bed.
8. LOVED Khushi's realization. Arnav wanted her to fight. Yes, Arnav wanted her to get back to the way she normally is - fighting with him. He is most comfortable when she is like that. It doesn't usually involve a lot of his emotions. LOVED Khushi connecting these dots to begin with. LOVED her decision to continue being the pati-bhakt!

4. Shyam back to business of doing no good. Thank goodness! We're ready to move to the next layer of brick-laying.
Precap
Khushi dear you have once more paved the way for the enemy to come in. But he would've come in anyway. Only now, this might create problems for you, though we hope it doesn't. You have enough to deal with.
Shyam, umm... though we do not like you much, welcome back, Moron!
