My thoughts on Pratik and his Pranks...

First of all this kind of prank always gets played by friends or younger siblings of the groom and that is very common practice...

Also showing condom on a national TV is not a "shameful thing" as it is the well know birth control device and is available everywhere openly and the government of countries endorse it too.. and also whether someone wants to believe or not it is there in the bedroom of each young and newly married couple to avoid early pregnancy.

Ok now with my thoughts on the comedy sequence...

Yesterday I was thinking why in the world Pratik did it... Didn't he know his brother well?? to know that he would be upset and embarrassed in front of his new wife?? Because he knows his brother better than anybody else

Then thinking more about it I realized that Pratik did it only because he knew his brother well...

Well Pratik is the one person who knowing his brother well took an oath not to get married to his long time sweetheart unless Yash gets married. He knew that his brother loves his deceased wife too much and he will never agree to marry ever.

Also he was the one who came in contact with Aarti first and though Aarti threw him out showing him the hockey stick but he was perceptive to know the woman behind that tough exterior.

He was the one who suggested his mom that his brother Yash would not want a girl but a mother for his two little daughers

He was the one who showed Aarti and her love for her son to his mom and his bhabhi to convince them that she is the best choice for his brother in spite of his mother's reservation.

So thought Pratick looks like he is just a lover boy but he has deep understanding about the need of his brother.

So why he played this prank??

I think the main reason is that the way he knew Yash and the way he know Aarti he definitely knew that these two would never interact with each other normally.. He may have imagine them sitting on the opposite side of the bed far away from each other and spend the whole night without word... He wanted to do something drastic so they would interact. He knows his brother is very shy and he also knows that his new SIL is spit fire. So now to mix ice and fire he needed the ice breaker and what more can than those device which will make them uncomfortable and at least one will reach the point of anger or embracement and speak up.

He also knew that his brother will be very upset as it is not his personality and he also knew that Aarti would be so angry at him for thinking like this that they will inter act..

He selected the sleazy song and he made arrangements for the fall and petal shower .. He had confident that any one trick will work on them and if nothing work than the lingerie and condom packet will explode them and they will interact.

As he know neither Yash or Aarti have talked and they are too shy to start the conversation. As each time Yash could not say anything to Aarti even though they met many times and Pratik wanted them to talk and have interaction...

So forgetting his own 1^st night he made all this plans for his brother so that his life will start with Aarti.. He made his bride wait for him but came to the aid of his brother so that his brother will be able to tell his bride what is in his heart..

I think this was the best ice breaker..

Yes Yash and Aarti had to go through so much frustration so much disastrous circumstances but it worked and they talked..

Yash tried to save Aarti from embarrassment about lingerie and condom but in the awkward situation made it worse and he had to behave completely like an idiot but it did not help.. Finally he resigned and made a complete fool of himself as he could have done nothing. He knew that he has lost what little respect Aarti had for him and he just was helpless watching her eyes go wide and her mouth twisted with disgust and her body language... He just hit bottom hard in her eyes.. any Defense from him would not have worked on Aarti at that time so he just stood there without a work losing all his dignity

But the entry of Pratik has given him his dignity back as with his own brother he was able to voice his thoughts clearly and in back ground Aarti came to know that this was not done by Yash and he is as innocent as she is.

Also Yash was able to transits this disastrous incident in an emotional one because he wrapped up the incident without a second glance and came right away with the point he wanted to tell Aarti. Right away he took the charge and scolded Pratik for his behavior... forgave his brother because he know that he meant well and also told Aarti why he married her.

He told her plainly in no nonsense words that he does not need a wife or does not need a wife for his physical desire but he only needs mother for his daughters. He told her plainly that he is so much in love with his deceased wife that he even cannot look at other woman nor can think of having a life with other woman even though he has married her.

And Aarti who is going through the same dilemma understood pretty well what Yash was trying to say and she was happy with the fact that they both are on the same page. Being a mother she had no problem being a mother to Yash's daughters and I think that was she loves to do all the time... She was happy to know that if she does not send a single glance in his direction he would not mind as his eyes are not her at all..

So all in all these series of comedy events worked as an ice breaker and that is exactly what Pratik was planning to do..

So I think I would say my salute to a brother like Pratik who left his own wife and came to the aid of his brother on his own wedding day...

The bond between this two is superb to watch... love you Pratik for being the best brother to Yash...
