Yet another charming villain has won himself many followers. Nishan, who played the unassuming seducer in Arun Kumar's recent hit Ee Adutha Kalathu, never imagined the kind of fan following his villainous act in the film would win him. "I've been told that youngsters in colleges say 'chechi' the way I do in the movie, with a North Indian accent," he says. And to think that he almost did not take up the role!
Nishan says, "Initially, I
didn't have the dates
required for the movie. But then Arun Kumar insisted that I do the role. He went to the extent of offering to adjust shoot dates to my convenience."
What worked for the film was the fact that the actor dubbed for his character too. "I am not too familiar with Malayalam. But each time I attempted to speak proper Malayalam, Arun would ask me to switch back to the way I spoke naturally. 'Don't try to improve your Malayalam,' he would say," explains the actor, who is a Coorgi. Since the release of his film, Nishan has been getting quite a few offers, not just from film producers, but also from girls! "I take that as a compliment! I must have sounded really convincing as a seducer," says an amused Nishan. Is he a charmer in real life too? "I'd love to be, but I'm not," he laughs. "I'm a boring person in real life. I just do my work and get back home. No parties, no socialising. In fact, I feel I'm really bad with PR," he says.
