Part 21- Turn on your next left Shaan, Abeer said as the car drove down the busy street bustling with people enjoying their Friday night.
The street was filled with loud music, colorful lights, and honks from nearby taxis. Cameras shuttered with lights, and high heels clicked up and down the sidewalks. The gang got out of the car excited for their night ahead.
Let's Eat! Shashank exclaimed as they headed into the restaurant.
Once inside, every one realized the theme of the restaurant. Bar Fredo had classy cuisine but the building resembled a night club, with dance floors and music pulsating through the walls.
Uhh Abeer, didn't you say this was Leher's favorite restaurant? Khanak yelled trying to get her voice to reach Abeer's.
*Abeer grinned* It is! In fact this is the first place she actually talked to me, he replied.
What?! Everyone else asked.
Come with me, Abeer said as he headed the group through the dance floor, into another part of the building. While they were walking through the dance floor, a girl had somehow gotten a hold of Shashank and grabbed him towards her.
Wooo! Show me those Bollywood moves! She cried yelling into his ears.
*Preeti stared at Shashank baffled* Uhhh... I'd love to, but maybe later, he replied rushing back to where everyone was going.
A waitress led everyone into a private room, where it was much quieter. The room was slightly dim, with a comforting ambience, even though there was a nightclub right next door.
Everyone took their seats, Abeer next to Leher, followed by Mahi and Arjun, sitting next to Shashank. Across from Shashank was Preeti, who sat next to Arohi, and Shaan and Khanak. Arohi sat exactly across from Arjun and Mahi eyeing them suspiciously.
So, you were saying this was where Leher first talked to you? Shaan asked Abeer.
*Leher blushed, while Abeer grinned* It was our last Finals week in our second year. My friends had brought me here to celebrate, and Leher had come here with some of her friends also. We knew each other from having the same lab schedules, but we had never talked to each other back then. Little did Leher know, how fida I was on her, he said as he nudged Leher softly.
Aww! Arohi gushed.
I think someone had Leher drink a little too much, so she was a little tipsy, Abeer said.
Oh my god, Leher you never go overboard with alcohol! You're scared of Holi because of the whole bhang issue! Khanak exclaimed, her eyes wide open.
*Leher bit her lip* I know! It was so bad, I think the bar tender actually mixed up some of our drinks, and I don't know what happened..., she said.
And so, she was drunk and randomly plopped next to where I was sitting. Guys you should've seen her, she had these puppy-dog eyes and this big grin when I tried to get her attention.
(Flashback)"Abeer!! Leher said squeezing his cheeks affectionately. Hi Leher, he said. Suddenly Leher's smile had turned into a cute pout. Uhh kya hua? He asked. Leher inched closer to him. Tum ek ladka ho na? Leher whispered. Kya?! Abeer asked confused at the question. Arrey budhoo, you're a guy, and I'm a girl, so why aren't you asking me to dance yet?! Leher said confusing poor Abeer." (end flashback)
*Arohi gasped* Phir Kya hua, she asked.
Phir kya, I was speechless for about a minute, and then I led her to the dance floor. But before that she fainted, right into my arms, he said laughing at Leher's embarrassment.
Everyone else started to laugh, teasing Leher of her actions.
Stop! God, I had such a bad headache the next morning, Leher said.
Aww poor Abeer, he probably was so excited that finally ek ladki uske saath nachne vala tha!, Arjun joked, causing everyone to laugh again.
Their evening rolled on with jokes and memories shared through their dinner. Arjun playfully flirted with Mahi, seeing Arohi's jealous reactions through the corner of his eye. He enjoyed how her eyes grew big, and the pouty frown in her face. Once when Arjun was going to put his hand over Mahi's Arohi kicked him under the table, impulsively.
Oww! Arjun yelled in pain.
Oh, I'm sorry.. zyada laga toh nahin? Arohi asked grinning, while everyone else tried to stifle their laughter.
Everyone seemed entertained by Shaan and Khanak's stories of back in the cab during Abeer and Leher's engagement, and when they had to look at the wedding cards.
You guys seemed like you had a lot of fun! Preeti said noticing Khanak's happiness.
Yaar Shaan, lagta hain, tu Australia mein bahut accha ek dost paya? Abeer said.
*Khanak looked at Shaan expectantly while he smiled* I did, didn't I? he replied.
Khanak blushed slightly, looking at this Leher nudged Abeer, thinking the same thing he was.

The guys twirled each of the girls around, laughing as they sang along. Arjun went towards Arohi and saw that she was already dancing with one of the guys next to her. He smiled and went to grab her hand.

The crowd screamed with joy, as the room filled with bright lights and cheers from all over, when suddenly Shaan pulled Khanak closer to him.

Shaan picked up Khanak, moving with the beat of the music, as the crowd roared with excitement. Hand in hand they danced along pleasing the crowd with their movements, as everyone watched the couple of the night.
