After watching today's episode I got a feeling that despite being estranged from his family and beind disowned, Rishi still feels love for his family.

I got a clue of this when Rishi was being admonished and cursed by his mother for siding with the enemy. He immediately shrunk. His face fell, his eyes lowered as if he had done something wrong.

I felt as if even though he knows he is doing right by Mandira, he felt teeny bit queasy.

The difference between two brothers could not be stark. Sameer is guilty and Rishi wants him punished. But he still hurts. Whereas Sameer was front and center in beating him up when ge brought the Vidith mystery out.

Another major difference in brothers is how they handle themselves when they are cornered. Rishi becomes mute, his body language all accepting guilt, sometimes too sheepishly. Sameer on the other hand was arrogance personified. Not an ounce of guilt or shame.

First of all Great Topic! And even I felt that he still lives his family! Which is completely fine I mean no matter how much his parents curses to him, abuses him! He dosent care because afterall they are his own parents! He knows that sameer is at fault and that's the only reason he is with the sharmas if in future something happens and mandira's is at fault he is most likely to be the diwaans. His pure heart is not being seen by anyone! And like u said during the wedding thing we all saw how rishi was beaten, but he didn't even say a word instead he saved indira from sameer, stopped indira from giving those medicine to vidith! Rishi is just a part of Ricky who for now is invisible but would like to see him back just for a change!

I don't think it was the love for the family. To me it was the scrupulous deference to be a part of Diwan family.
It was evident earlier also when he explains to Indira that by publishing the news he is also putting his family reputation at stake. This clearly shows he very well understands that just by detaching himself from his family, he cannot escape the brunt of being a Diwan. But that does not stops him from supporting the truth.
Further, his face shrunk not because he was admonished by his mom but seeing her siding a person who committed a heinous crime and going out to help him further inspite of all the proofs.

As far as handling themselves when cornered is concerned, so far RK was in deep mess whenever he was cornered. As an audience even I knew that he would get in to that situation and his response was pretty reasonable but yes, sometimes extremely sheepish still acceptable. Now when all of his past mistakes are out and there are no more hidden secrets, I would like to see his reaction when cornered. Now we will get to see his true reactions. And the glimpse of that was shown in the kidnapping sequence.

Also noticed one significant change in RK's characterization today.
As jjkg mentioned in one of her earlier posts RK never had the courage to admit his action. He always resorted to lie. In the past we know he tried to save Sunaina bhabhi from Munna's wrath when she went for abortion. In the process he staked Indira's dignity and did not muster courage to defend her when Kutumb slapped and blamed her.

But today, he had the courage to accept that it was him who published the news and cleared his intentions behind it. Also he admonished her biased behaviour and unnecessary slap to Indira.

After coming out clear with all his hidden secret, definitely a gradual change is evident in RK. He is becoming more and more vocal and supportive these days.

dont think its love. rishi is a practical person & after the way he has been treated by the diwans i doubt thr is any love left in him for them. but then nobody can escape the 'its my family' thing howsoever he may wish. the same happened yesterday i feel. more than love i saw a bit of shame in his eyes when his mother sided with a rapist in spite of being a woman herself. rishi surely didnt expect simi to support him but was prolly sickened to see her support sam dis time as well.

@ Nels: Yeah, the gradual shift in his behavior is quite evident. You have summed up all the points in this regard beautifully! 😊Hope this shift holds true for other aspects of his personality as well. Would love to see him understand the difference between ego & self - respect & react accordingly in various situations.

Great topic and I can definitely see both sides here.

I just wanted to add though that Indira is not much different when it comes to her family. She has also sent her own brother to jail when he was in the wrong just as Rishi has. I think they are both very similiar characters. They both want to support what is right but at the same time still have some love (if you can call it that) for their family. Indira has always been ill treated by her family yet she sticks by them still so I can see how Rishi might feel in front of his mom right now.

Regarding both the topic & the precap, although Rishi has not on good terms w/Sameer & despises him, i don't blame him for stopping Munna from beating him up.

I feel there was a time when the Diwan bros seriously did have a bond. What was up with the time Sameer was reffering to when he would be at Rishi's side when there parents would leave so Rishi won't get scared?

Rishi never said he doesn't love his mom or bro. Yes, he doesn't like some of their qualities, mentality, & a few of the things they have done but I wouldn't say he doesn't feel much for them. To hear one's own parent disown them- i know what that is like. One time my mom told me that she only has two kids- my sis & my bro. It's absolutely a horrible thing to hear. Fortunately, she never seriously did go through w/disowning me. She was just really mad at me for a very short time. My relationship w/her is kinda like Indu & Kutumb's relationship. My mom loves me but usually doesn't express her love for me. She hardly ever praises me. It's criticism that I hear from her mouth quite a bit of of the time regarding me 😆. It's a good thing she criticizes me less than Kutumb criticizes Indu though.

I think he still values his parents despite all. Evidence was there again how he went and sough blessing from the ground his mum stood on and used that as a stand-in for her blessings.😭

yet again shows how love starved he is.
his desperate need for Indira stems from this parental neglect

i think he still loves his family despite their animosity towards him. He wishes for them to change their evil ways.
