Renu goes to meet Vinod to convince him and ask for her son's happiness as dowry in place of his self respect. Vinod's in a dilemma and he gets flashes of Lakshmi's dreams, her happiness and he gives in. He decides to give away his self-respect and calls RV to tell him that he has agreed to his terms.

I guess Arjun will say something during his convo with Lakshmi about how he will die without her or something and hence his mom will request Lakshmi's dad to accept RV's stupid term.
