Please spare me the spotlight...
Kevin Spacey who is in the limelight for his role as Lex Luthor, hates the glitz and glamour
The Usual Suspects actor is the artistic director at London's Old Vic theatre and insists the relative sedateness of the stage suits him far more than the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
He said: "The attention, praise, awards, the yada-yada! I have never liked it at all. I play a good game, but I'm very uncomfortable."
Spacey - who plays Superman's nemesis, Lex Luthor, in new superhero movie Superman Returns – has also dismissed reports of him schmoosing with an endless procession of stars at top London restaurant The Ivy as "crap".
He fumed to Britain's Elle magazine: "It's crap! I've seen so many reports about me being friends with people I've only shaken hands with at parties.
"I take my job seriously. I'm not in it for all this fluff they want to write. I've only been to The Ivy six times."
