Gopi walked into their room to see Ahem already sleeping on the sofa. It pained her heart to see him at a distance after the love shared between them yesterday. The truth that he will never love & accept her love was evident for her to see, with him on the sofa. As she turned to switch of the lights, she heard Ahem calling her.
Ahem had been a witness to the entire senario of the mango fiasco. He knew it from his heart that she did not do that & it puzzled him on why she lied. He did not question her then in the dining hall in front of everyone as he respects her now & knew she would definetly have a reason on what she was doing. He waited for her to come to the room so that he could ask her why she had lied & what were her reasons. Ahem has realised that Gopi opens upto him in the privacy of their room, where they are together sharing with him things which make her happy, sad, which cause her worry. . He has realised that as a husband & wife they need to discuss things within the four walls of their room to understand one another. He did not rush her by calling her to room immediately but waited patiently for her to come into their room.
When Ahem told Gopi that I need to ask you something, there was a flicker happiness on her face that maybe he remembered what has happened between them & he wanted to ask her about it. Every waking moment Gopi hopes that Ahem would remember the moments of love shared between them as it is the only memory she has of her husband openly sharing his love for her. Ever from the time she got married her hearts deepest desire was to love her husband & in turn to be loved by him. From the time they have been together supporting one another, the hope she lost as he hated her in the past, then started to claim her entire heart that one day they will be together with the love for each other. This dream of hers since her childhood is now dependent on him & it is troubling her heart to see her dream breaking in front of her.
Ahem observed the pain on Gopi's face as he called out to her. It troubled him to see the pain on her face but he was unable to place it on what was troubling her. He assumed that because of what has happened at the dining table that she was troubled & hurt. Ahem trusts & knows from experience about his wife, Gopi so well that he knew that she will never do anything which will hurt him or any of the members of the family. All he wanted to know from her on why she took the blame on herself when she was not at fault. The answer she gave him that she did not want the family members to fight because of her & even if she gets punished for it , she was fine with it as all she wants was the family members to be happy & have peace amongst themselves, touched Ahem's heart that he had such a wonderful caring wife who cares for all members of the family & just thinks about their happiness.
As he counselled her that according to him, she should have told the truth, her answer that she did not tell the truth because all she wanted was the fight to stop & all she ever wants is happiness in the family, pleased him & he felt very proud to have such an understanding wife who knew how to handle situations & ensure there was always love between the family members. He expressed his trust & built her confidence by saying that the decision she had taken, she must have thought about it & he was fine with it. In the past Ahem was indifferent to any thing which happened in the house especially with Gopi as he did not trust her then & thought that she as a person was like that. Today though Ahem did not interfere when the situation happened, he knew & trusted his wife that she knew what she was doing & in the privacy of their room, he built her confidence that he is with her in all situations !!!
As Ahem told Gopi that he left the light on in the room only for her,bought a smile on her face. It shows how much he loves her, thinks about her & cares for her. Even though they do not sleep together & there is still the physical distance between them, in his heart the distance has long been covered. He cannot think beyond her & he likes to rest for the day just with her. There was a time in the past when the room was only his & he never cared about her & her comfort as he hated the very fact he had to share the room with her whom he despised very much. Even when she was studying, he would just switch off the light without any consideration for her, not even giving time to settle her things. But from the time as he taught her, he got to know her & understand her, he started to care for her. From then the room has always been hers & he is ready to take any amount of discomfort for himself just to ensure she is comfortable. He had already given up the room for her when the kiss happened as he knew she was scared & would be worried about his reaction. This is the deep love he has for her !!! After a whole day of trying to see her happy , Ahem saw a happy smile on her which reached her eyes & was tugging her heart . As he slept peacefully, he was finally at peace with himself that he was able to get the smile back on his wife's face.
So with so much of love Ahem has for his wife, what is stopping him from claiming her as his own in his full senses? His thoughts, his actions, his concern is all about her, so what is holding him back from declaring his heart felt love for her & claim her love for him ?? He knows his wife loves him & her smile & her thoughts are all only linked to him , so is he planning in his heart to wait for the right time to express his love for her?
With her Ahemji sharing that he left the light on only for her, Gopi was suprised & happy that her Ahemji thought about her. After losing out faith & hope that he will never love her, his gesture built her hope back that all is not lost for her. As she switched off the light she could not stop glacing back at him smilingly with a thought that her husband cares for her. She looked at him lovingly as she realised this was her Ahemji, her husband who does small things in his own way to keep her happy. She realised that she could never keep herself away from him & that she will always love him forever !!!
