Hussain Kuwajerwala, better known as Kumkum's hubby Sumit, can now be seen anchoring Zee's Shabaash India, a show that lets people with exceptional acrobatic and gravity defying skills show off their talent. The actor talks to Pramita Bose about his show, wife, culinary skills and more What do you think about Shabaash India? It's an amazing new show, which shows rare stunts and daredevil acts performed by people. It promises to stupefy audiences with all the stunts being shown. One needs to have great acrobatic skills, rock-solid nerves and balance to perform in this show. There is a lot of talent in India and television is an ideal platform to show off this talent. Who is your favorite co-star? Now that's a cruel question. Honestly, there is no favorite as such. I get along well with both of my co-stars Shraddha (Nigam) and Juhi (Parmar). I've worked with them for a long time and we share an excellent rapport. Our great comfort levels can be seen on screen. Most embarrassing moment. You might think this is funny, but it really bothers me when I attend weddings and am showered with more attention than the bride and groom. I believe that it's their special day and nobody should steal their limelight. Onlookers mob me and I get very embarrassed. What is your most expensive possession? My wife! But my most expensive material possession would be our new home that we are doing up together. How do you spend time with your wife as you have a very busy work schedule? I believe that if you want to spend quality time with a person whom you are fond of, you'll always find a way. Earlier, it was a problem as I was doing three shows together — Krishna Arjun, Kumkum and Kuch Kar Dikhana Hai, but now fortunately we get to spend enough time together. And after marriage it's been even better, because when you get back home, you have your loved one beside you. But, my wife still complains at the drop of a hat. Sometimes I too complain because no matter how much time we spend together we invariably find that it's not enough. How do you feel about sharing screen space with the new generation of actors in Kumkum? It feels great to be working with young upcoming talent. It's always nice to welcome new people on to the sets. What matters is that they should be good human beings (which they all are). They are all very promising and I wish them all the success in life. Are you a good cook? Ha ha that's a joke. I can't cook at all but luckily for me, there is this specialty dish, which is made of shredded mutton. You have to just fry the meat in oil or ghee and it's simply delicious. Otherwise it's chicken marinated in some sauce that's easily available in the market. Just cook it in the microwave. |
