Abhay was returning from his date night with Pia. He could not have been happier. Though they were taking their relationship slow, it was worth it taking step by step with her. He did not want the same fate for Pia that his previous lover had. He loved her with every fiber of his being, but was concealing a dark secret.
He parked his car, and scrolled his window to let the fresh air in. He walked in the living room to find Maya siting in a couch looking comfortable at ease with a smile on her face.
Abhay could care less about her, and left for his room. He was climbing the stairs.
Maya threw back a sarcastic comment causing Abhay to turn his heel, and give her a focus she had been anticipating for.
Maya(smirking, got up from the couch) -So you are returning from your date with the "s**t".
Abhay was irked by the comment she made, but calmed himself down. He knew he needed to control his temper. He might not be fond of her, but in the end she was his sister. They might not be blood related, but she was his sister still. Foster or Blood did not matter to him. He had promised his mother no matter how rude, and, he could not lay hands on her.
Abhay(hissing)- Give it a rest Maya! Do something useful in life instead of making a comment against my girlfriend. If you were not my sister, I would have buried you in this ground right now with my bare hands. You might have destroyed our relationship, but you still are my sister.
Maya(retorting back)- I do not want a brother who cannot listen to his sister. I am telling that your so called beloved will destroy our family, and what we have guarded for hundred years. Do you think she will still stay with you? Once she knows her past? How you used her in her previous life? Why her life was left incomplete because of you? Will she forgive you??Your love is not as strong as you claim my brother. She was born to seek revenge from us Abhay. I am here to warn you. She might not have her powers yet, but in time she will. Her powers are arising and your little missy will leave no stone to destroy us, and this family.
Abhay (hissing)- Maya! Pia is Pia. She is not Maithili. She is not reincarnated? She is just Pia you hear me. I will make sure, I will never make mistakes as I did with her. I love her, and she will never be harmed as long as I exist.
Maya(smiling evilly)-Love can be the sweetest poison ivy. Something tells me she is. Once she remembers her past and she knows who you are; You are toast. Adieu brother. My job here is done. Saying these few words, Maya flew out of the window leaving Abhay frozen.
Aliyah's office.
John had made an excuse with Maya that he was going to Romania to find the old witch to come to U.S. He looked around Aaliyah office. It smelled just like her. He inhaled the scent around, and closed his eyes to recall those memories he had blocked. A small drop of blood poured from his eyes. He wiped it away. He had moved on with Maya, but still he had never been able to forget Aliyah. Yes, she had betrayed him, but he still cared for her. The memories of her always remained fresh to him. He looked around her office beaming with pride. She accomplished what she always had desired, something useful outside magic.
He sat on the couch eagerly anticipating for her. The last time he had seen was two years ago. He remembered the image of her when he had first laid his eyes on her. The reminiscent of her angelic pure virgin smile was still fresh. He cussed himself for remembering the woman that once had scorned him. He questioned himself. Why could not he remember Aaliyah with bitterness? Why could not he despise her? Why did his heart refuse to acknowledge the truth and let her go? Why was he investing so much time thinking about her, and was dwelling in the past still? There were a lot of questions he always had wanted to ask her, but she would never give a clear answer.
He heard her footsteps.
Aaliyah walked in to her office, and dismissed her staff. She could feel him even after all these years.
He was sitting in the couch, and gave her a warm smil . She knew he was here to discuss the deal she had made with him. He had moved on, and she had too.
Aaliyah (sitting far away from him)-It's been a long time John. How was your flight? I hope you still are not bitter towards me the way we had departed.(asked him trying not to make it awkward for both them)
John (forcing a smile)- Nope ! All is forgotten and forgiven.
Aaliyah- Alright! Let's cut to the chase? What do you want?(rolling her eyes)
John put his leg on her desks, and with positioned himself with ease. - Just a curiosity? Why would you sent your family to the "devil den" and contact me out of the blue to make a bargain.
Aliyah (smirking)- Ahh! You know the deal as long as you protect her. There is a guardian angel to protect them. I would give you what you want. We have a fair bargain, No Questions. (Aaliyah got up.)
John spat with disgust and grabbed her with force. Aaliyah could feel the electric current with his one touch.
John (angrily)- You know! I did not come here for a bargain. I came hoping you have changed. I came here to seek my answers? Why did you do it? Maybe, Maya is right about you, and your sister.. I hope you have not raised your sister to become like you. You are a shame to woman hood. You used me, and my best friend. Still, I am going to protect your sister because unlike you, I have some humanity in me. He stormed out of the room leaving Aaliyah heartbroken.
Abhay's room
Maya last words had left Abhay haunted. He had blocked his past from his memories, and the thought that Pia could be Maithali. It could not be, Abhay told himself, and rejected the thought. They both are so different. But what if she is? Maybe, that's why he felt connected to her. Would Pia forgive him once she knows the truth? He loved Pia, and did not want to make the same mistake he had done in the past. He would not be repeat offender. If Pia ever came to know her past if indeed she was Maithili, then he would tell her the whole truth. That he tried so hard to save her, but he was too late. He would apologize, and beg. He would tell her how that one mistake of losing her had haunted him till present day. He would beg, and weep like a beggar hoping from some Mercy from her. He knew he could not change the past, but hoped she would find in her heart to understand him. No matter he was confident there love was strong enough to conquer any boundaries, and storm. If Pia was reincarnated, than the prophecy would not come true. The prophecy was a girl would rise from a fresh soul and unite all the dimensions in to one. He knew in his heart that Pia was the chosen one and so she could not be a reincarnation. He knew their love was sacred, and forbidden, but he will stick by her side no matter what the hurdles are. He would bow to her. According to the prophecy she has to be the most powerful supernatural creature in the existence of all the dimensions. He knew he had to be there to guide her towards her destiny, and he would never leave his beloved's side. He knew he could make this work. He dismissed what Maya had said to him as he knew in his heart that Pia cannot be Maithili. She cannot be a reincarnation. She has to be a fresh soul who was written about in the prophecy. And the biggest support to his belief was the absolute purity of her heart which was never there even in Maithili and is impossible to be found in any old soul.
The Meeting
A shadowy figure came out of the small cave to meet the stranger she had been anticipating for.
Stranger(smirking)- Maya ! I am so glad you came. Care for me to inform about the latest progression of our mission.
Maya(irritated)- O shut up! You know there is no progression. The girl is with my brother. My brother is blind sided. What do you expect?
Stranger- My dear! Patience! We will separate them in no time. After all, as they say patience is man's greatest virtue. We will get the end fruit. Now, go, and learn more about her powers.
Maya nodded, and went her separate way.
