Going down the cliched route

So SNS has decided to go down the cliched road. I had high hopes for Saathiya seeing Goham love story developing over a period of two years which made the show different. But on Holi, my illusions were shattered.

I still hoped that CV's won't do what every other serial does, but it wasn't to be. They buckled under the trp game and resorted to cheap tricks to keep viewers puzzling if it was a SR or it wasn't. Why not make it obvious? My mind refused to believe it was a SR because I thought they won't show a cliche. But when you think about it logically, if it was just a make out session, there wouldn't have been any bhang involved. He was high on love and he didn't need bhang to make out with his wife who wouldn't deny him.
A lot of members on this forum predicted the next cliche of Aham forgettng what he did since they have all seen it before. He forgot because he did the deed. Otherwise, there is no point in forgetting, is there? After all, they had a mini make out session before when they kissed accidentally (yes, for a shy couple like Goham, it was making out) and they didn't forget that.
So what would be the point of Aham forgetting his SR? It's because the next stop on this cliche track is pregnancy. Aham won't remember, will doubt Gopi (yes, I know Gopi doesn't know any other man), lots of tears, and abra cadabra, higher trps. So Gopi will leave or be thrown out. Some other man will save her and fall in love with her. Either she will have a miscarriage or have the baby. Aham will remember or realize his mistake (who cares at that point), will find Gopi, but will see her with another man, and back off thinking he has always made Gopi unhappy and now, she finally has someone else who will make her happy. In the mean time, Gopi is still crying. More tears. Higher trps. Sounds familiar?
Sorry for my long rant. I am depressed, but still hoping that the CV's can salvage this mess and not show a story we have already seen millions of times. There is still room to turn all this around and make it beautiful again.
By the way I had made a post on the whole SR thing before all this happened and surprisingly even the things I said sarcastically came out true. I had said he will have SR under bhang and will forget and next morning will ask for tea (I wish I was wrong, I was just being sarcastic). There were some funny comments from people if you are interested - https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/saath-nibhaana-saathiya/2851330/if-aham-consummates-under-the-effect-of-bhang

You know as logical as your interpretation sounds, I highly doubt it will happen like that. I mean it's a lot different than some Ekta kapoor's show. why don't you just relax and watch the show. I mean I know it's a big part of our life but it's still a show that we watch for fun and entertainment so you shouldn't let it affect you so much. After all, jo hona hoga so hoga so there's no point in worrying because whatever we say are all interpretation, it's up to the CVs to really write it down in the script. Coming to the Holi epi, I really liked it because I thought it was cute and I know what you mean. I still don't think they will stop this gradual understanding between them. I feel like this track, if nothing, will make them closer somehow but again, I am a very optimistic person lol. My point is just relax and watch the show since worrying will not make the directors of the show change their minds.

Like your post, Shona and like your optimism. I am not expecting too much now and will just go with the flow. If it bothers me too much, I will stop watching. As you said it is just a show😆
Don't get me wrong, the Holi episode was beautiful, very sensitive and nicely done. It was enjoyable; I don't know how many times I watched it. But I can't help feeling that CV's go down a familiar path to keep the viewers just like they brought kalakari back. We will have to wait and see. My serious wish is I am wrong in this and we will see something completely unexpected. I will be the first one to celebrate then. Yes, worrying about things doesn't change them but voicing your worries does relax you. Already, reading your post and making this reply is making me feel better. Thank you for your comments😊

I've wanted the NRI to drop by for a long time now. I think it's time already. Ahem's not on his guard. Gopi's on the verge of having her heart broken. As Chaucer might have said, "It bey tyme for som gladsome"

Rachna, where do you pull these things from? It has been a long time since I read Chaucer. You are so good. You always manage to perk me up. I really wish I had the privilege to know you in person and have you as my friend. You are so funny and good for the soul👏

Awww, it is a pity we have to be stuck with being virtual friends. As for Chaucer, my minor in English kind of forced me to take a class on him, so that's why he's always on my mind. 😳😳🤢
Anywho, wouldn't it be great if another angle came into Gopi's life? For how long can she be stuck with being just a line? (A line has two points--one being Gopi and the other being Ahem) A line isn't even a shape! 😆 I seriously want that guy to drop in soon. He could be anyone like a rich snob who falls head-over-heels with Gopi or a maryada purushottam guy who is mesmerized by her--I don't really care. I just want to make it hard for Ahem to get Gopi. Ahem isn't even investing time in her that much. How about taking her out to dinner? Or just to the park for a walk? 😕 At least the NRI would woo her properly, court her like a gentleman, and take her to a ballroom dance. She'd wear a ballgown with white gloves and delicate slippers...Aris, you need more? 😳😆

Oh My. This is taking me into lala land quickly. A jealous Ahamji? I can imagine those cute nostrils of his flaring up when green in envy, he sees his Gopi in a green strapless gown swaying with a handsome NRI. May be she could lose a slipper for Ahamji to find😍? Love your comparison with a line. Yes, right now Gopi and Aham are two points of a line. Together, but still apart. May be seeing another man taking interest in his wife he is always taking forgranted will make him bend enough to turn that line into a circle so that the two points will just mingle together never to be separated again?☺️

How great is it that before I finished reading your "circle" part I knew what you were going to say!😳 😳😆

I'd like a jealous Ahemji anyday, then this one. At least he'd make his move and be on the prowl faster than ever.

Just imagine the NRI being his classmate from school, who comes to visit. NRI rings the doorbell. Gopi, singly dressed (as in without marital symbols because she just showered or something😆), opens the door. The NRI's luggage drops to the floor as he is awestruck by her and voila! NRI falls in love. Ahem sees his reaction from the foyer. His prowling starts that second and he rushes down...you can imagine the rest. Now, I have to finish my Twain paper... 😭

You know what the creatives will do anything and everything to gain high TRPs because afterall its their job and they can go to any extent to save their jobs and frankly for this sole reason I don't blame them for what they are doing

Yes, yes. Ahamji burning with jealousy is way better. Remember last time when he was jealous. It forced him to gift a sari to his wife. Then he didn't like it when she just had it lying carelessly on the bed. He was forced again to help his wife fold the sari and touch her hands. Now that was action.
So now, Aham rushes down to the door and sees his NRI friend staring at his wife and Gopi is also looking at the NRI. Aham jumps to stand next to Gopi and puts an arm around her and greets his friend and introduces him to his wife while looking at her possessively. He ushers his friend in and scolds Gopi why she hasn't got ready yet? She looks at him confusion since when he is worried about her getting ready? Aham says - Remember, I was going to take you out for dinner. Now hurry up and go get ready. Then he turns to his friend and says - I know you have come after a long time, but I had made dinner plans with my wife some time ago. You probably are not staying long, right. His friend is all confused and looking pointedly at his luggage.
OK. Your turn next. Finish your paper first though...
