Beauty of quiet moments of love

Hello everyone:

Now that I am recovered sufficiently from that heart-tugging episode that brought tears to my eyes, and a sense of true satisfaction to see two fictional characters finally align together, I wanted to share my reflections on why this episode had so much emotional impact on me, and guessing from IF posts so far, on all of us.

The gentle tug that broke the levee

Arnav came, saw her, approached her, and took the opportunity to touch her by holding her arm and blowing into her eyes. And then she brushed his hand off her arm. Unlike in the past, when Khushi would reject him (rejecting his hand during collision incident on Teej, office fall incident when she went to retrieve DM,..), he would get angry at the rejection as his ego would be hurt more than his heart. This time, his face and eyes had all the heartbreak and deep sadness of acknowledging that she was right to reject him after all he has done to bring her so much pain. His expressions then were simply superb.

And then came that transformative moment when he felt her take his hand in hers and tug him back. It was simply marvelous to see the sudden change in his countenance as he could not at first believe that she is doing that. He looked down at their hands to make sure that he was not imagining it. He looked at her eyes as he tried to come to grips that this was real, that she wanted him to stay, that she was not completely rejecting him. Could she really be asking him to stay? I think that was moment when he surrendered completely to her. All his control, fears and inhibitions melted away at that gentle tug and questioning eyes.

And Khushi, she had been confused and ambivalent about Arnav's feelings towards her ever since Diwali incident. She had decided not to delve and dwell on these feelings as she knew it was too painful for her. Today she finally overcame her timidity, perhaps bhang providing the impetus. It took a lot of courage for her to take his hand, face him, cup his face tenderly and bare her soul to him not knowing if she was facing Arnav or ASR. Kudos girl! I love a heroine who takes the initiative.

Perhaps it is not surprising that it was Khushi who did take the initiative. She does tend to take the bull by horn where else Arnav/ASR has always been afraid to show emotions and afraid to lose control. Higher the stakes, more he tends to burrow in and shy away from his emotions. It needed a gentle tug from her to break the lock on his heart.

The Lone Tear

Oh, yes, it needs a special mention indeed. I felt my heart jump watching him wipe that tear away. I felt so happy for Arnav knowing that he finally found what he had been searching for all his life, and she is right there in his arms and she loves him back! Wiping that tear, Arnav seems to have wiped clean his hurt, his pain, his fears and hopefully, a big part of his painful past.

Finally – Surrendering to LOVE

Thank you CVs for giving us sincere, quiet confession without too many words or drama – just Arhi doing what they do best – looking deep into each other eyes and their souls, and finally accepting and surrendering to their love for each other – quietly, without egos, questions or doubt. The moment was beautiful because of its sheer simplicity.

I love the fact that Arnav is surrendering to Khushi without the benefit of MU being cleared in some dramatic manner. It shows that he is finally overcoming his fears of rejection, loss, and betrayal, and learning to trust her – the real barometer of love. He perhaps always knew deep down that Khushi could not be a home wrecker, and he has finally begun to trust his instincts and heart.

Last few minutes of today's episode reminded me of a song from movie Parinay. While it is a bhajan, the sentiments expressed describe perfectly how these two orphaned souls feel today as they discovered their love for each other ---

After all, true love is what it is all about, isn't it? The kind which provides us the succor from harsh realities of the world.
