Touching the feet of elders

Hi, I'm fairly new to this forum so I've no idea if this post is in the right section.

Anyways, I am and Indian from South-America, moved to the west. We don't touch the feet of the elders here, but does anyone know how you call this custom in Hindi? We call it paulagi, I'm not sure though if that is the right term in 'general' Hindi.
