The Meadow
Meadow is a place near the outskirts of Dehradun which is favourite place for the Kriyansh. For Kriya it was a place where she would enjoy the nature's beauty which made her content, forget all her worries. Here she would sit for long hours just talking to herself and her Universeji about her life, friends, mom and dance. It drew her into a cherished bliss.
For Rey it was the most beautiful where he wud sit near the lake thinking about anything. This place always made him happy in his worst hrs. He cud be himself, his true self here - just Reyaansh-no rich brat, no star dancer just him. It helped him to get in touch with his true self.
Meadow for one it was silence and other it was the bustle of nature. But for both it was the avenue of contentment.
Rey reached the meadow. Today he had come not to enjoy the silence but to take out his inner turmoil. The turmoil he was facing to bring his love back to life by all fair means. He wanted his love to be on his side and the whole world accepting it and no one regretting of them being together. He wanted to show the world how perfect they were together. He wanted to prove that they were surely each other's better half.
Kriya on the other hand had decided to go to the meadow to to take out tears in the silence. She wanted to be her true self which was now the shattered one. She couldn't do so in her house as she didn't want her mother to feel sad becoz of her. Aftr all she was the only reason for her living in her life. She wanted to cry her heart out in the silence so that she could return to become a better daughter. But she knew no matter what she did she couldn't escape the fact that a major part of her life was now not with her. She wanted to throw away his memories but couldn't becoz she knew they were the only memoirs that wud remind of the true Kriya which she had lost. Those memries were her reminder to become a better daughter for her mother.
After sometime Kriya also reached the meadow. She came to sit under a tree near the lake. Rey had been sitting there but when he saw her he was taken aback. He wanted to talk to her but decided not to. He hid himself behind the tree. He saw her approaching. He decided to move away from there but it was too late and also he didn't want to leave. When dhe approached near him, he was shocked to see her. THE KRIYA GHAI who was his life, who was his reason to smile, who made him smile with her innocence under any circumstance-good or bad, whose eyes which always brimmed with joy and twinkled like those of a small child, whose joy was reflected on her face was shattered. Her eyes it seemed were filled only with pain and agony. Her face was dull and gloomy. Her walk which always used to reflect confidence of facing every hurdle come what may was now reflecting that of person who had lost all the flavours of life. His baatcutter it seemed was dead and the person approaching was lame imitation of his life. Rey was reduced to tears. He cudn't see her suffering like this. It was somewhere his fault that she had lost herself. He wanted his kriya, his baatcutter back by any means. When she sat near the tree he was more sad. He was on verge of breaking but decided to hold himself together foor her sake. He just wanted to touch her, hug her, suck all the pains out of her. He wanted to caresee her face and protect her from every pain and agony. He stopped himself from going near her becoz he wanted her to come back to her life fully with everyone's consent and for this she had to wait for only a little while- he made a promise to himself.
On the other hand kriya took out a diary. Rey saw it was her personal diary. He watched intently. She started seein some of her group's photo. A slight line of happiness started forming on her face. Then she took out their photos which had been shot during the fest and after they had become a couple. A smile came on her face but on reaching her eyes they were converted to tears. She started crying her heart out. Rey stretched his hand to console her but then quickly took it back. He hated himself for being so helpless. He cudn't see her like this.
K: Kyun Rey aap meri life ka important hissa ban gaye. Kyun aapne mujhe bataya ki perfect life kya hoti. Kyun aapne mujhe itna special feel karvaya ki main hamesha ke liye aapki hogayi. (turns her head up) universeji aisa maine kya kiya tha ki aapne Rey ko mujhse itna dur kr diya. Kehte hain jo hota acche ke liye hota hai. Ismein kya acchai hai. Vahan maine rey ka itna dil dukhaya ki shayad hi woh mujhe maaf kar paaye. Agar aapko yahin krna tha toh mujhe kam se kam aap mujhe itni shakti toh dete ki main unke bina jee sakun. Unke bina main yahan pal-pal marti hun yahi soch ke ki maine unhe kitna hurt kiya. (Sees some of his photos). Dekhiye hum kitna khush the woh kitna khush the par uss din maine unhe itna dukh diya jabki woh toh mmujhe khussh krne aaye the. Unhone hamesha meri khushi pehle rakhi fir bhi main unhe khush nhi kar paayi. Mujhe aap unki zindagi mein kyun laaye. Meri vajah se woh itne dukhi the. Galti maine ki thi toh uski saza aapko mujhe deni chahiye thina unhe kyun iska hissa banaya.unki kya galti thi. (sits shattered. Looks in her diary for the letter). Woh letter... woh kahan gaya. Maine yahin toh rkha tha. Mom ko agar mil gaya toh... main unhe aur dukh nhi de skti. Woh letter hi toh tha jismein maine unke bare mein sab likha tha. Uss letter ke thru hi toh main apne aap ko rok paungi vaapas unke paas jaane se. Uss letter mein hi toh woh reason jisse mein apne-aap ko yeh ehsaas dila paungi ki mera unhe hurt krna sahi tha. Mom ko mil gaya ho toh... nahi mom ne kuch nhi bola matlab nhi mila hoga. Kahin maine use file mein nhi toh... nhi nhi m sure maine usse iss diary mein hi rkha tha. Shayad kahin gir gaya hoga. Kahin entrance ke pass toh nhi gir gaya.main check kr kke aati hun.
Meanwhile rey was shattered seeing her like this. She cudn't bear the agony she had to endure. He had only read that how much she loved him and he was happy about it but now on seeing how this love for him was having far-reaching consequences for her as she had given herself to the destiny designs he cudn't tolerate it. He wanted her to hate him so that she cud forget him. he was ready to bear her hatred but not her pain. He sat where she was sitting and stated shuffling thru her diary all the while waiting for her return. One thing caught his eye. Aftr their day of the breakup nothing was written in diary. He was amazed. He went to that page and found only one line written there.
" sorry, but ab main aur nhi likh paungi. Diary mein apni life ke bare mein likhti thi. Lekin jab meri life hi nhi rhi toh main kya likhun. Dance ke bina life incomplete hai lekin unke bina life hai hi nhi"
R: baatcutter kyun tum mujhe itna pyar kyun krti ho. Main tumhe iss haal mein nhi dekh skta. Its killing u and its killing me to see u like this. Maine itna helpless kbhi nhi feel kiya. Main tumhe aise nhi dekh skta. Bass tum mujhe thoda time do main tumhari zindagi mein saare colors vaapas le aaunga. I promise. (sees her coming). Goes back to hiding
K: pata nhi voh letter kahan gaya. Main ghar jaake dhundh lungi.
Takes her things. Goes near the lake and sits there. Rey cudn't control himself goes and stand behind her. Kriya after sometimes lifts her head up and sees their reflection. She thinks as her dream. She goes to touch his face. A stone starts rolling due to her sudden movement. Rey senses it and then moves back immediately. The reflection gets shattered due to the stone leaving her heartbroken.
K: mujhe ghar vaapas chale jaana chahiye, vrna mujhe unki baar-2 yaad aatii rhegi...
Kriya leaves. Rey comes out with tears and redness in his eyes. He leaves after sometime.
At night. Singhania house. Rey is in his room switching lights on and off. His grandmother comes.
G: rey main tujhse ek baat puchun.
R: haan
G: tu yahan kyun aaya hai.
R: aapse milne. Har saal aata hun na.
G: tujhse kuch maangu. Dega na
R: haan. Kaisi baat kr rhe ho.
G: mujhe mera purana rey dede(rei is shocked). Rey main tujhe acche se jaanti hun. Kya baat hai. Kab se dekh rhi hun. Aise hi leta huya hai. Kya huya hain. Bata na. Kisi dost se ladai huyi ya kisi ne tera dil dukhaya. Zindagi mein aisa hota rehta hain. Woh tere kaabil nhi hogi.
R(mumbles): woh nhi, main uske kaabil nhi hun.
G: rey kya huya. Seedhe-2 bata.
Rey narrates the whole incident and her condition. He bursts out crying and hugs her grandma.
R: main use aise dekh nhi skta. Uske upar se main uske iss dukh ki vajah hun. Mujhse ye bardasht nhi hota. Samajh nhi aa rha ki main use vaapas kaise laaun. Pata hai woh aapko kitni pasand aati agar woh pehle jaisi hoti. Jaisi aapko chahiye thin a bilkul vaise hi.
G: toh jaa use leke aana. Mujhe mera rey chahiye jo haar ko bhi jeet main badlna jaanta hai. Ja apne pyar ko leke aana.
R: kya karun. Uksi mom ko jb impress krne jaata hun kuch na kuch ulta ho jaata hai.
G: toh zyada try mat kr. Thoda upar wale pe bharosa kr. Universeji pe bharosa rakh.
R: aapko yeh word kaise pata.
G: woh orphanage ke bacche kehte rehte hain. Kyun?
R: kuch nhi (thot kriya ko jaanti hogi).
G: orphanage ke bacche tujhe bahut yaad kr rhe the. Maine keh diya tha ki tu kal aa jayega. Rey tujhe jaana chahiye. Tujhe thoda refreshment milega. Fir tu naye sire se sochna. Chal ab so jaa aur dekh le apne pyar ke sapne.
R: (thinks) theek kai kal chala jaunga. Aap aaoge.
G: nhi beta kuch dusra kaam hain. Kal akele chala jaana.
R: good night.
